Chapter 817 How about Sponsoring my Grandson
"The female CEO, Ms. Solomon, said she wanted to meet me!" Benjamin was very excited.
"The one whose husband died, then came back to life?" Elizabeth put down the apple in her hand, her eyes suddenly gleaming. "Why does she want to meet you? Has she taken a liking to you?"
"How could she possibly take a liking to me? Christopher said it was about Eleanor. Ms. Solomon wants to discuss something with me," Benjamin said and immediately rushed into the house, taking out his best suit.
Although Benjamin said that Fiona couldn't take a liking to him, but he also considered himself quite talented.
'And Darwin is disabled, what if?' Benjamin thought.
"Mom, why is Fiona concerned about Eleanor?" Besides Elizabeth Dashwood, a woman who looked very much like her had a vigilant look on her face. "There must be something big going on here. Benjamin is so clueless; we have to stick together, lest he gets deceived without even knowing!"
"Yes!" Elizabeth replied.
Elizabeth had never seen a truly wealthy person before; she also wanted to broaden her horizons.
So, ten minutes later, Benjamin, with a grim face, left the house with Caroline Dashwood and Elizabeth.
Upon reaching the designated location, a beautiful waitress led the three into a private room. She poured coffee for them and then left.
"That woman, she doesn't look decent at all, full of charm!" Caroline looked disdainful.
Elizabeth looked around and carefully examined the coffee cup and saucer in front of her, saying, "It must be very expensive to have coffee here, right?"
"To put it simply, this chandelier could buy a three-bedroom apartment!" Benjamin pointed to the chandelier above and said.
Elizabeth's eyes immediately lit up, thinking, 'I should sneak a teacup before leaving!'
Caroline adjusted her hair, picking up the elegant demeanor often seen on TV.
Benjamin glanced at Caroline and Elizabeth, saying disdainfully, "Don't act like this later; don't let people look down on us!"
As he finished speaking, the door opened.
The three of them all looked over.
First, they saw a tall, fierce-looking man.
Then, a modestly dressed but very beautiful woman walked in.
"I've seen you on TV!" Caroline pointed at Fiona, exclaiming.
Fiona smiled faintly. She hadn't expected Benjamin to bring his whole family.
"Ms. Woods!" Benjamin said and stood up.
He heard that modern, powerful women didn't like to be addressed by their husband's surname, so he called her Ms. Woods.
"Nice to meet you!" Benjamin said and extended his hand.
Fiona completely ignored it and went to sit in the host's seat, asking, "Who are these two?"
When Elizabeth was in her hometown, she was known for being unreasonable.
Seeing Fiona's demeanor, Elizabeth thought she couldn't lose face.
"I am Benjamin's mother. I heard you want to talk to him about Eleanor, right?" Elizabeth said.
Fiona looked over.
There was not much emotion in her beautiful eyes, but her imposing manner was intimidating and very oppressive.
Elizabeth felt a bit uncomfortable.
"It seems like you're the one in charge at home," Fiona spoke.
Hearing it, Elizabeth felt clear-headed and said, "Indeed."
Elizabeth was strutting arrogantly.
Caroline sat there, watching Fiona's every move attentively, unable to resist wanting to imitate her.
No wonder Fiona could handle such big corporate bosses; her husband had just died, and she hooked up with a jewelry tycoon. Not to mention the men, her appearance was full of allure, enough to make any woman blush and heart race.
"Alright, let's get straight to the point," Fiona leaned back and said, "I want to sponsor Eleanor to study abroad until she completes the highest degree she can achieve."
"What? Study abroad?" Benjamin was shocked.
Elizabeth was stunned.
Caroline said, "Studying abroad costs a lot of money. My friend's child studying abroad costs 110,000 dollars a year!"
"You don't need to worry about this; I promise you won't have to pay a penny," Fiona said.
After all, Eleanor was his daughter. Even if he didn't like her, she could have a good future. Benjamin wouldn't stop her.
Benjamin was about to agree.
But then his thigh was pinched.
Benjamin looked at Elizabeth, puzzled.
Elizabeth smiled at Fiona, saying, "Fiona, girls studying too much isn't useful; marrying well is what matters. If you really want to sponsor, why not wait a few more years? There's a boy about to be born in my family. A boy's education is useful; as women, as long as we can have and raise children, that's enough! Look at my son, how capable he is now..."
"Mom!" Benjamin's heart skipped a beat.
Elizabeth said these things in front of a powerful woman. Was she crazy?
"You're so shrewd; if you had studied more back then, you could have become a very outstanding female representative, but..." Fiona shook her head with a look of regret.
Elizabeth was taken aback.
Then she understood that Fiona was insulting her.
"In our family, when girls reach a certain age, they get married. Whether to study abroad or not, it's not a possibility!" Elizabeth's expression changed. Then she thought of something and added, "Of course, if you really want to help her, I'm not an unreasonable person. How about this: You sponsor my grandson to study abroad as well, and he must attend the best university! I'll agree to let Eleanor go, too!"
Fiona was impressed.
"Benjamin, what do you think?" Fiona looked at Benjamin and asked.
Benjamin had thought there was something wrong with this, but when he thought of Elizabeth's words just now, he felt she was right.
What was the use of Eleanor studying abroad?
It was better to let Eleanor take her younger brother to study abroad with her!
'Recently, my honey has been in turmoil. If she knew that our son could go abroad to study at the best school, she would definitely be happy!' Benjamin thought.
"I think my mom is right. Either they go together, or they stay together in the country. The two siblings can take care of each other!" Benjamin knew how wealthy Fiona and Darwin were.
Two hundred twenty thousand dollars a year for two children was a small change for them.
He had seen reports before that the amount of money they made in a year was astronomical!
"And if the kids are out there by themselves, we won't be at ease. You have to be responsible for getting us over there to take care of them!" Caroline quickly added.
Elizabeth thought, 'Caroline is truly my daughter. She's really thoughtful.'
Eleanor immediately chimed in, "Yes! That's a must!"
"If the whole family goes, I should buy you a bigger house, right? With so many people, it should be a detached one, with a pool, and preferably with all the staff like butlers and maids..." Fiona counted on her fingers, saying.
Christopher was about to burst into laughter.
Looking at the Dashwood family's expressions, they seemed to take it seriously. How foolish they were!
"We don't need a butler; help us get a job; we can be self-sufficient!" Elizabeth quickly calculated and said.
She had heard about some jobs with a high salary.
