Chapter 1064
Upon hearing Fiona's words, Janna gently tapped Fiona's forehead. "You should have thought this way earlier. It's been a tough half-year!"
As she spoke, she seemed to think of something. "By the way, will the Beaumonts still come to Bay City?"
"They probably will, why?" Fiona asked in puzzlement.
Janna hadn't been here long and spent most of her time with Thalassa.
She hadn't interacted much with Stella.
Mentioning these two people suddenly, Fiona guessed there might be something up.
"It's nothing about them. Didn't something happen with the Durham family?" Janna sighed. "What do you think Wyatt is thinking? His girlfriend has already left, so he should focus on his career. But he suddenly ran away, and now the Durham family is in a precarious situation."
"Is it that serious?" Fiona didn't understand the structure of the Durhams.
The Durhams belonged to Crystal Haven.
She didn't have much contact with Crystal Haven.
Janna quickly showed Fiona a chat log. It roughly described the current situation of the Durhams.
Fiona said, "Actually, it's not all bad. Wyatt's parents have so many shares in their hands. Even if they are eventually kicked out, the money is enough for them to live a lifetime."
"It's not that simple," Janna said seriously, "You have to know, when the Durhams were at their peak, they offended many people. You have had some contact with Emma. Money can't substitute for status, especially in Crystal Haven. Power is the key to survival."
"What do you mean? Do you want to save them?" Fiona asked.
Janna lowered her eyelids and pondered for a moment. "Although our relationship has faded over generations, Larry Durham helped me when I was in trouble. He has passed away now, and Wyatt couldn't prevent the Durhams from reaching this point. If I stand by and do nothing, it would be too much."
Larry was considered Wyatt's great-grandfather.
Back then, Janna was young and reckless and offended a well-known figure in Crystal Haven.
Larry, despite his old age, personally stepped in to help her out of trouble.
"I understand. Grandma, do whatever you want. Darwin and I will definitely follow your lead!" Fiona said without hesitation.
Janna nodded. Then she hesitated for a moment.
"Grandma, do you still need to think twice when talking to me?" Fiona asked with a smile.
"Actually, as outsiders, there's very little we can do. To reverse the current predicament of the Durhams..."
Before Janna could finish her words, Fiona interjected and her smile slowly faded. "Wyatt has to come back."
"Yes." Janna nodded.
"He will come back," Fiona said with a tone of helplessness yet certainty.
Wyatt, by nature, was a contradictory person. He deeply loved Stella but kept pushing her away. After pushing her away, he would find ways to pull her back.
Similarly, he had carried the burden of the Durham family on his shoulders for over thirty years.
Now, in utter despair, he abandoned everything and left.
However, that burden, like Stella, was something he could pick up but not necessarily completely put down.
After all, behind that burden was the entire Durham family, all his family members.
"So, being born into a wealthy family, it's hard to say whether it's a blessing or a curse for these kids." Janna sighed heavily.
"Alright, Nora worked so hard to make you this happy, don't frown." Fiona gently pushed Janna's furrowed brows with her soft hand. "Wyatt might figure it out in a couple of years!"
"Hopefully," Janna said, then looked at Chicago, who was silently sobbing. "Why did Darwin have to go to work now of all times!"
