Chapter 924

Fiona looked up; her small face was pale, her lips were chapped, and her eyes were red and swollen, then she nodded. "I understand."

The man looked down at her, and she helped him tie his tie. Then, he left without looking back.

"What's wrong with you?" Fiona immediately became serious, nervously looking at Darwin. "Are you feeling unwell?"

Darwin looked at her.

In his mind, that pitiful face slowly overlapped with her current anxious look.

His heart felt like it was being pulled back and forth by thousands of blunt knives, which was very painful.

"It's nothing." Darwin shook his head, reached out, and hugged Fiona tightly. "Just hold on for a while; just a hug will do."

Fiona became more anxious. "Did I hurt you?"

"If your strength can hurt me, then I am too fragile." Darwin buried his head in her neck. "I just... I just miss you."

Fiona was slightly stunned.

She suddenly realized and asked, "Did you remember something?"

Was it a memory from five years ago?

Darwin fell silent for a moment and said, "I saw us at the hotel; I said to you that you should keep a distance from me in public."

Fiona was stunned again.

She and Darwin had been to many hotels, and the number of business trips throughout the year was countless. But the condition he mentioned, it was only the first time they had sex.

Since Fiona started as a substitute, she had been very sensible and very serious about this job.

Darwin told her to keep a distance from him when they were outside.

Fiona had always followed it, never approaching him in public unless Darwin asked her to come to his side.

So, he only said it once.

"Has something like this happened?" Fiona gently stroked Darwin's head and said, "I don't know how long ago it was; let's not think about it."

Darwin didn't say anything. He just hugged Fiona quietly for a while.

Just that one scene made Darwin feel very distressed. According to Wyatt, there seemed to be many things more outrageous than this.

So Fiona didn't let him seek treatment. She didn't want him to recall those memories.

On that night, Darwin slept particularly restlessly.

In his dreams, he could always see those clear and reddened eyes silently accusing him.

On the next morning, while Fiona, Thalassa, and Stella were out for a walk, Darwin took the initiative to find Alexander.

"Do you want to try therapy? Does Fiona know?" Alexander asked.

"I don't want her to know," Darwin replied. "I won't be treated in North Alabama. I'll wait until after Thalassa gives birth and return to Bay City for treatment."

Alexander hesitated for a moment and said, "Then wait until you're back in Bay City; if you still insist, I will treat you."

"Thank you," Darwin sincerely said.

Alexander replied, "You're welcome."

The two of them reached an agreement like this.

Time slipped away quietly in such peaceful days.

Soon, it was a few days before Thalassa's due date.

Everyone else was nervous except her.

Burl and Janna brought Stuart and rushed over from the Bay City.

Seeing Thalassa's legs swollen badly, Burl couldn't help it. He hid in the corner, digging into the anthill, crying sadly.
