Chapter 1414
"Look at you, all smug. How'd you do on the test this time?" Thalassa wiped the sweat off Chicago's face. "How'd you do?"
"A!" Chicago replied, grinning from ear to ear.
"No way! With your lazy study habits, you still got an A? That's nuts!" Thalassa gave her a thumbs up.
Meanwhile, Melissa, chubby and adorable, was staring at Charlotte.
Charlotte didn't interact much with Melissa.
It wasn't that she didn't like her.
Babies were so fragile, she worried she might accidentally hurt her.
But Melissa seemed to really like Charlotte.
She reached out her chubby little hand, blowing spit bubbles.
"She wants Charlotte to hold her," Thalassa tilted her head towards Charlotte and translated.
Charlotte looked a bit bewildered.
She rarely felt at a loss.
"I don't dare," she whispered.
"Why don't you give it a try?" Thalassa asked with a smile.
Charlotte had grown a lot this year, almost reaching Thalassa's chin.
She thought for a moment.
Carefully, she extended her arms.
Chicago was so delighted; she wished everyone in the world loved Melissa and Charlotte. If the two of them were affectionate, it would be the best thing ever!
The baby was incredibly soft.
Charlotte held her, barely daring to breathe heavily.
Her movements were very gentle.
Then, Melissa happily smeared Charlotte's face with drool.
Charlotte was completely bewildered.
Thalassa laughed.
Kenny, as usual, watched Thalassa laugh. He shifted his gaze from his daughter to Thalassa, looking at her tenderly, his mouth curling into a smile.
Recently, Kenny had met some old friends.
Calling them friends was a bit of a stretch; they were more like acquaintances.
Everyone had a similar opinion of him.
"Kenny, now that you have a family, you finally look like a father."
As for Burl...
Due to his work environment, he didn't interact with many women, so he was still single.
Seeing Kenny's affectionate gaze, Burl found it annoying. "Come on, let's go to Charles's place. Don't miss his award ceremony!"
The group hurriedly got into the car and headed to Charles's place.
Melissa insisted on being held by Charlotte.
Shortly after getting in the car, Melissa fell asleep in Charlotte's arms.
"Our Melissa knows Charlotte makes her feel safe!" Chicago said with a smile to Charlotte.
Charlotte looked at the little human in her arms.
She raised her hand and gently poked Melissa's chubby cheek.
After being poked, Melissa suddenly let out a silly laugh. Charlotte was startled, then laughed along with the baby in her arms.
"Charlotte, I heard from your dad that you're going straight to middle school next semester?" Thalassa glanced back at her own silly daughter, then asked Charlotte.
Charlotte nodded. "I'm too old to stay in elementary school."
"True," Thalassa nodded. "Jumping ahead like that must be tough, right?"
"It's okay," Charlotte shook her head. "I've already finished the first-year middle school curriculum. I'll see if I can finish the second-year courses over the summer."
"What? Are you planning to take the high school entrance exam next year?" Thalassa was shocked.
