Chapter 1378

Rose trailed behind Fiona.

Wyatt glanced over and saw Rose looking like a meek little lamb.

Then, Wyatt remembered how Odette had once pretended to be harmless and moved into Paul's house, only to wreak havoc on the whole family.

He felt a wave of nausea in his stomach.

He looked away.

As soon as he did, he met Burl's disdainful look.

"What are you staring at me for?" Wyatt frowned. "What's with that look?"

Burl said, "You were just head over heels for Miss White, but now you're already eyeing other women! Men!"

Wyatt's face immediately darkened. He said, "Don't compare her to Stella. There's no comparison!"

It was rare for Burl to see Wyatt lose his temper.

He wanted to say something.

But Wyatt walked away with a sullen face.

Burl scratched his head awkwardly, thinking he had probably overstepped.

Preston was here today too, and Wyatt had been happily greeting him.

Seeing this, Burl felt frustrated.

He reminded himself to be more cautious with his words.

Over at the dining area, Fiona was leisurely tearing apart a perfectly toasted piece of bread.

She looked visibly tired.

"I need to go to Valcia next week, and I'll also visit Hubert. Do you want to come with me?" Fiona suddenly asked.

Rose was taken aback. "Are you going to see Mr. Solomon?"

Fiona shook her head. "I won't see him until he's better. I'm going to learn about the medication."

Rose thought for a moment and said, "If you don't mind, I'd love to go see Hubert. He's still pretty upset with me for buying a house in Armie to develop my career."

Fiona replied, "Maybe he feels like you abandoned him?"

Rose sighed. "So I'll go with you to make it up to him."

Fiona said, "Alright, the company will arrange the flights. Keep an eye on your email."

Rose nodded.

She instinctively glanced towards the lively living room.

Fiona looked at Rose but said nothing, continuing to eat her breakfast slowly.

Today was a rare day off. With so many people outside, managing security was tricky, so the family activities took place at Emerald Pool.

Emerald Pool was big enough.

There were cats, dogs, and fish, and the vegetables and fruits in the greenhouse were gradually ripening.

There was plenty to do.

At that time, Rose stayed close to Fiona.

She saw the well-fed, robust fish in the lake.

The cat was sitting arrogantly on Stuart's head—she knew Stuart, Janna's top bodyguard, who had inexplicably turned into a farmer.

And the unfriendly golden retriever.

The golden retriever was always with Chicago and Charles. Whenever Rose got close, it would block them with its tail and bare its teeth at her.

When Fiona scolded it, the golden retriever would immediately behave, only to bare its teeth again when Fiona wasn't looking.

"Your place is so relaxing. I've had insomnia for a long time, but last night, I fell asleep as soon as I lay down," Rose said, taking a deep breath of fresh air. "I need to work harder and save up to buy a small house with a garden!"

Fiona replied, "Even though Marisole and Aiden didn't have a good ending, I still consider her family. You're Marisole's only living relative, and I think she would want me to take care of you. If you don't mind the noise here, you're always welcome to come by."
