Chapter 672 I Have Never Called Him Daddy Before.
Fiona woke up from a nightmare.
"Madam, are you awake?" Christopher immediately got up when he saw this.
Fiona looked at the hospital room's ceiling, and suddenly, the image of the villa collapsing appeared in her mind. "Where's Darwin?"
Fiona immediately sat up and anxiously asked Christopher.
Christopher lowered his eyelids. "The police and many of our people are searching and salvaging in the nearby waters."
What Christopher didn't say was that, due to the sudden storm, the sea waves were too violent to send boats and people to search the area where the house collapsed.
Fiona's face gradually turned pale.
Then Fiona took off the IV tube and got out of bed. "Get me a car. I want to go!"
"Madam, not long ago, a killer infiltrated Emerald Pool. Miss and Master almost got killed by him!" Christopher said loudly.
Fiona turned her head abruptly. "What are you saying?"
"Charlotte recognized him. He is one of the two killers wanted." Christopher said in a deep voice,
"Your children are very scared now. You and Mr. Solomon have been unreachable all day, and now this happened. Are you really not going to take care of them?"
Christopher paused momentarily and then continued cruelly, "To put it bluntly, they no longer have a father. How much more are you going to torment them? Do you want to wait until those two children become orphans before you stop?"
Fiona felt as if she had been hit hard in the chest.
Not long after, the car abruptly stopped at the entrance of the Emerald Pool villa.
After Fiona got out of the car, she walked quickly toward the house.
Even though the servants had cleaned the floor, Fiona still smelled the scent of blood when she entered.
Fiona's heart tightened.
She ran straight to the second floor.
"Charles, Chicago!"
Upon hearing Fiona's voice, Chicago immediately ran out crying.
Seeing Fiona, Chicago buried her head in her arms. "Mommy, you're finally back. I was so scared!"
Charles followed behind Chicago.
When he saw Fiona, Charles let out a relieved sigh.
Fiona reached out her hand to Charles, and he also came over. Fiona held both children tightly in her arms.
Fiona's heart felt like it was breaking apart.
Fiona held onto Charles and Chicago tightly, tears streaming down her face.
Fiona hadn't felt this scared in a long, long time.
Fiona prayed countless times in her heart.
She begged, please bring Darwin back to her.
Her children had just started to know what having a father was like...
Fiona's heart felt like a knife was twisting it.
Chicago and Charles quickly realized that something was wrong with Mommy.
"Mommy, what's wrong?" Chicago asked nervously, "Are you hurt?"
"Mommy." Charles was clever.
Charles sensed that Mommy was in deep sorrow.
Charles looked behind Mommy again.
"What about Daddy?" Charles asked.
Fiona felt even more pain.
"Brother, Daddy went to work. He told me during the day!" Chicago said, sobbing.
But Charles was waiting for Fiona's answer.
After a moment.
Fiona let go of the two children and tried to force a smile. "Well, Daddy went to work, but this time it might be a bit longer."
Chicago was surprised. "What about Christmas? Daddy won't celebrate it with us?"
"He might have to wait until next time." Fiona touched Chicago's cheek but couldn't look at Charles.
"Okay." Chicago drooped her head.
Chicago had prepared so much for Christmas.
Bad Daddy broke his promise again!
It was already late at night.
Mommy was back, and Chicago's sense of security returned.
Before long, Mommy coaxed Chicago to go back to bed.
Before going to sleep, Chicago asked with some grievance, "Mommy, can I call Daddy if I miss him?"
"It's probably not possible this time. Daddy went on a very important mission, and Mommy can't contact him unless the mission is successful," Fiona said gently.
"Then, does Mommy miss him?" Chicago asked.
Fiona felt a sudden pain in her chest.
Fiona nodded. "Of course I do."
"He would be very happy to know that. Mommy, I'll tell you a secret. Originally, on Christmas, my brother and I were going to call him Daddy!" Chicago said in a hushed voice.
Fiona's emotions reached the brink of collapse.
Fiona whispered a few comforting words to Chicago, got up, and left her room.
At the door, she closed it, covering her chest, tears pouring out.
"Ma'am." Charlotte stood in front of Fiona.
Seeing Fiona like this, Charlotte was at a loss for what to do.
Fiona looked at Charlotte.
Fiona suppressed her emotions once again, half squatting down and gratefully locking eyes with Charlotte. "I heard that you saved Charles and Chicago, Charlotte. I am so grateful to you."
"It was my duty," Charlotte replied, hesitating for a moment before clumsily and carefully wiping away Fiona's tears. "Was it because my father arrived too late?"
Charlotte had already learned about Darwin's situation from Christopher.
Fiona shook her head.
"Charlotte, you should also get some rest. There won't be any more assassins coming," Fiona gently said. "After I finish dealing with my matter these few days, I will reward you, okay?"
"Okay." Charlotte nodded.
Then Charlotte walked downstairs, constantly turning her head to look back at Fiona.
Christopher stood at the staircase.
Christopher hurriedly pulled Charlotte over when he saw her coming down and asked, "How is Fiona?"
"She's crying and very sad." Charlotte lowered her head.
Christopher sighed.
Christopher didn't tell Charlotte that Fiona had originally planned to die with Darwin.
"All right, good child, go to sleep. I will stay here," Christopher said gently.
Charlotte responded.
With Father present, Charlotte naturally felt at ease, so she obediently went to her room.
After Charlotte left, Fiona went to Charles' room.
Charles seemed to be waiting for her.
Seeing her come in, Charles immediately looked up and asked, "Did sister go to sleep?"
Fiona nodded weakly and sat opposite Charles.
"Darwin has been kidnapped?" Charles asked.
When Charles returned to his room, he immediately contacted Burl. Charles wanted to ask if Burl knew anything.
But as soon as Burl heard him mention Darwin, he immediately changed the subject, saying that he was already at the airport and would arrive in Armie during the day.
Seeing Fiona's silence, Charles decided to speak again.
"Mommy, if you don't say anything, I can still find out through the internet."
Fiona looked at him.
She choked up and told Charles everything that had happened that day.
As Charles listened to the end, his expression became somewhat stunned.
"Darwin is dead?" Charles murmured to himself.
"We couldn't find Darwin's remains, so he didn't die!" Fiona exclaimed immediately. "Didn't Stuart experience the same thing before? And look, he's alive and well now. Charles, Daddy loved us very much. Mommy doesn't believe he would leave us."
Charles looked at Fiona.
Charles, who was always good at managing his emotions, remained silent momentarily, pouted his lips, and tears immediately rolled down from his eyes.
Charles opened his arms and embraced Fiona.
"Mommy, I regret it. I’ve never called him Dad before."
As he spoke, Charles sobbed in Fiona's arms.
