Chapter 864
The atmosphere on the social media gradually turned melancholic.
Although everyone was praising the divine love story, this topic didn't last long on the charts, as
people's attention was quickly diverted by new hot topics and discussions.
"It finally stopped!" Stella slouched on the sofa, staring straight ahead with her eyes.
She glanced over and saw Alexander playing chess with Darwin, then she said, "Fiona."
Fiona was looking at a contract and raised her head at the sound, asking, "What's up?"
"Darwin was beaten by Alexander!" Stella said seriously, "I always thought before that Darwin was extraordinary, unparalleled in the world, and Wyatt couldn't compare. Now, Alexander has surpassed him!"
Fiona chuckled speechlessly, "Alexander is the most handsome man."
Fiona spoke softly; it seemed that she was afraid Darwin might overhear.
Stella smiled contentedly and asked, "When are you and Thalassa leaving for North Alabama?"
Fiona replied, "I still have two group meetings to attend, probably the day after tomorrow. Just the day before Charles and Chicago get their exam results."
"The day after tomorrow?" Stella sat up and said, "Then Alexander and I will just head over to your place and meet up with you! We won't take the same flight with you guys."
"Do you have something going on?" Fiona asked instinctively.
"Alexander really wants to bring his Father, Father Ben Sullivan, who hasn't been seen in society for ten years, back. I got a call yesterday saying Mr. Sullivan isn't doing well, so I want to take him back to see him."
"Is it far?"
"Not far, just in Sunset Valley Heights. I plan to leave tomorrow and spend as much time as possible with Father Ben!"
"That's important. You can visit Mr. Sullivan first and then head to North Alabama."
"Okay!"
Stella then lay back down. She took out her phone to search for what kind of gift to bring for Father Ben.
After selecting a few items, she took a shower at night and made a list for Alexander to see.
After Alexander finished reading, he set his phone aside and said, "Just buy some more fruits and flowers when you get there; these items are not necessary."
Things like a collector's edition Bible, an ivory cross...
Alexander thought, 'It's thankful that Stella has asked me. If she had bought them directly and taken them over, Father Ben might have grabbed a broom and chased them out!'
"Alright!" Stella wasn't discouraged either.
She didn't have faith in this area, to begin with, so it was normal for her not to understand. Since she didn't need to worry about these things, she would listen to Alexander.
She turned off the lights.
Alexander, who enjoyed the taste of victory, didn't let Stella off tonight either. But he also knew when to stop so that she wouldn't stay up late.
Stella lazily lay in Alexander's arms, gently stroking his cheek. "Are you afraid?"
It was a random question. But Alexander understood what Stella was asking. He hugged her tightly, burying his face between her neck, his warm breath brushing against the skin behind Stella's ear.
Then Stella heard Alexander's reply, "Yes."
He was afraid that Father Ben would still blame him for his past decisions.
He was also afraid to see Father Ben in his twilight years.
"It's okay." Stella gently patted Alexander's back, comforting him softly, "I'm here with you."
Alexander nodded gently, holding Stella even tighter as if he wanted to crush her into his body and merge her into his soul.
