Chapter 1353

When Hubert found out Rose was back, he bolted out of the lab and headed straight to her place.

Rose lived right next door to Hubert.

When he got there, he saw a realtor showing some folks out of her house.

"Hey, Mr. Graham," the realtor greeted him with a smile.

Hubert nodded and turned to Rose, "Why'd you call the realtor?"

"I'm selling the place since I can't stay here anymore," Rose said.

Hubert was stunned, thinking she was just being dramatic. "Rose, Mrs. Solomon won't keep you at Armie forever. Once Darwin gets better and goes home, she'll let you come back."

Rose looked at him, more mature than he remembered. "Hubert, I've grown a lot with Mrs. Solomon."

Hubert was taken aback.

Rose waved goodbye to the realtor and then turned back to Hubert. "When I was younger, my mom protected me, then Grandma Mitchell, and later you. I was always relying on someone. But these months at Armie, I felt like I accomplished something on my own. I've decided to keep working at the Solomon Group to find my own value."

"Are you sure about this?" Hubert snapped out of his shock, feeling a wave of relief.

"Yes!" Rose took a deep breath, the cold winter air biting at her lungs.

"That's awesome!" Hubert grinned. "You've grown up, Rose. Let's go grab something to eat! Afterward, you can head back to Armie. Once my research is done, I'll visit often! If anyone gives you trouble, I'll be there in a flash!"

"What if it's Fiona giving me trouble?" Rose teased.

Hubert remembered their conversation on the street. "Rose, I admire Mrs. Solomon, but not the way you think. She means something different to me because I saw her strength when she went to Darwin. I thought she'd be like other women who rely on men, but she proved me wrong."

"She is impressive," Rose agreed. "To stand out among so many men."

"Alright, what do you want to eat? Name it, and it's yours!"

"No," Rose shook her head. "Mrs. Solomon gave me a short break. After visiting my mom, I have to go back."

"Then I'll go with you to the cemetery!" Hubert offered.

Rose seemed hesitant. "Hubert, you just ran out of the lab. We can eat and meet anytime, but your research is more important. You should get back to the lab!"

Hubert looked at her, "Are you sure you don't want me to come with you?"

Rose shook her head.

Hubert pulled out his phone and transferred some money to her. "Then buy some fresh flowers for your mom from me."

Rose glanced at the amount—it was more than enough for flowers.

"With the rest, treat yourself. I didn't get you a Christmas gift this year, so buy a nice bag."

"Thanks, Hubert," Rose said.

Hubert waved and rode off on his bike.

Rose watched him go, then looked at the money on her phone. She opened a charity donation website and donated every penny.

Later, a snowstorm hit Cyberia.
