Chapter 997
Alexander was on his way to find Stella when he saw the message from Liam on Facebook.
"What does it mean?" Stella's eyes sparkled. "Is he going to take me to see Father Ben? Is he willing to meet me?"
"I don't know." Alexander tapped her nose. "But Mason has praised you a lot in front of Father Ben. Father Ben knows you are a good person."
"Really?" Stella was quite surprised. "No wonder he is my good partner!"
Alexander often heard many strange phrases from Stella.
Then he said, "Let's go, don't keep Liam waiting."
"Okay!" Stella took Alexander's hand again and then said to him, "Let go of my hand when we get to a crowded place!"
"We can hold hands even in a crowded place," Alexander said.
Stella looked at him in astonishment. "But before, when it was crowded, you never held my hand!"
Alexander had an innocent expression. "Stella, it was you who always kept your distance from me."
"Really?" Stella thought for a moment.
It seemed to be true.
"I was just worried you might feel embarrassed to refuse me, so I was being considerate," Stella whispered.
Alexander found her very adorable. He squeezed her hand, suppressing the urge to do more. "Being considerate is good, but don't overdo it next time."
"Okay." Stella found it amusing herself.
Liam's room was relatively small. When Stella and Alexander arrived, Liam was coming out, holding an old phone, seemingly about to make a call.
Seeing the two, he put the phone away.
"Liam!" Stella greeted brightly.
Liam still wasn't quite used to it.
"Is Father Ben feeling better?" Stella continued to ask.
Alexander's eyes were half-closed, but the smile in them was unmistakable.
"He's doing okay. He got up and walked a bit this morning," Liam replied, "Lunch is ready. I was just about to call you since you hadn't come."
"I just woke up and came over as soon as I saw the message," Alexander replied.
"Alright, come in and eat!" Liam said, lowering his head and walking inside.
Stella and Alexander exchanged a glance, and he gave her a reassuring look.
They both entered Liam's yard together.
The yard was very clean, with many beautiful potted plants.
"So beautiful!" Stella immediately praised upon seeing the plants.
Liam glanced at them and silently set the table.
Alexander said to Stella, "Liam is very good at taking care of potted plants."
"That's amazing!" Stella praised.
Liam said, "Let's eat quickly before it gets cold."
Despite the simplicity of the dishes, Liam's cooking skills left a deep impression on Stella.
"Liam, are you really this good at cooking?" Stella said earnestly.
Stella kept praising, and Liam's face turned red.
"Father Alexander and the others are picky eaters and don't like the food made by the church's chef. I'm the eldest one; what can I do?" Liam muttered.
Alexander chuckled, "Thanks to Liam, we could eat more and grow taller."
Liam was momentarily taken aback.
