Chapter 1204

Fiona's voice was all scratchy.

Ashton just lost it, hugging Fiona and bawling his eyes out.

"Ashton, let Fiona get out of those wet clothes first," Kenny said, giving her shoulder a gentle pat.

Ashton nodded and let Fiona go. "Go take a shower and change. We'll be right here."

Fiona glanced at Burl, who handed her a paper bag.

Burl looked like he was about to cry but held it in.

Fiona gave a weak smile. "Are you mad at me?"

Burl shoved the bag into her hand. "Go shower. You look terrible."

Fiona nodded and headed to the bathroom in another ward.

The warm water momentarily dispelled the chill that had encased Fiona's entire body.

Standing under the stream of water for a moment, the multitude of emotions she had been suppressing finally erupted. Her shoulders shook as she began to cry silently within the cascade.

After changing, Fiona came out.

Ashton rushed over. "I got some medicine for your throat. Are you hungry? I brought food."

Fiona ate whatever Ashton gave her, without a fuss.

The more she complied, the more it broke Ashton's heart.

"You both came. Where's Melissa?" Fiona asked out of the blue.

"We have a nanny, and Lyold and Stuart are home. It's fine," Ashton reassured her. "Eat a bit more."

Fiona took a few more bites but couldn't eat any more.

She looked at Kenny. "Kenny, I need you to look into someone."

"Who?" Kenny asked.

"Hubert, the psychologist I contacted for Patricia."

"What about him?" Ashton was surprised. "Did he hurt Darwin?"

Fiona said, "His team is the best for Darwin's condition."

Before she could finish, Ashton said, "Then let him treat Darwin! I've heard of him; he's indeed very skilled!"

"I planned to, but I just found out something. I suspect Hubert's parents were killed by Brooke," Fiona said, struggling with the words.

Ashton's face changed. "How is that possible?"

"Fiona, I'll have someone look into it right away," Kenny didn't ask much.

Fiona always had her reasons for doing things. She must have found something before to have this suspicion.

"Kenny, thank you," Fiona said. "There are few people I can trust with Darwin's condition."

If Darwin's condition got out, it would cause chaos and be a disaster for both Charles and Chicago.

"Fiona, we're family," Kenny said gently. He gave Ashton a reassuring look and went to make a call.

Ashton held Fiona's cold hand. "You must be exhausted. Get some sleep. We'll keep an eye on things. If you don't rest, your mood will suffer, and Darwin will be affected too."

Burl, who had been mostly quiet, finally spoke up. "What's going on? Ashton and Mike seem to know, but I don't!"

"Burl!" Ashton looked at him.

"It's okay," Fiona said. "You're too far away. I don't have the strength to speak loudly."

Burl immediately sat next to Fiona.

Fiona looked at him, pale and calm. "Do you know what schizophrenia is?"
