Chapter 752 Everyone Has Psychological Shadows
Ever since Charlotte, at the beginning of the school year, had dealt with the bully in a way her mother had taught her, there had been a few bad kids who mocked her for her father's death. But none of them had gained any advantage over her in the end. And now, they were all afraid of her, avoiding her at all costs. Especially the bully who had been genuinely insecure about his body odor for a long time.
The chauffeur stopped the car at the school gate. Charlotte and her mother got out of the car one after the other. It was a stroke of bad luck that they ran into the bully, who had also just gotten out of a car. Charlotte's heart was filled with joy at the sight of Darwin. She even managed a rare smile and greeted him, "Good morning."
The bully instinctively raised his arm and took a whiff of himself. His clothes were now scented with incense by his mother and grandmother, so he smelled good. He encouraged himself in his mind. He was about to take a step forward. But his mother pulled him back and said, "Son, you can't go looking for trouble with Charlotte again, understand?"
The bully thought to himself, 'Who dares to!'
He had really had enough of the bitter lesson last time. Up until now, he still hadn't figured out whether he smelled bad back then.
"I just saw online that Charlotte's father is really alive!" the bully's mother said in a hushed voice. "Her father is not someone to be trifled with. If he finds out that you caused trouble for Charlotte before, and he marries you, it will be a big problem!"
The bully shrank his neck. "But didn't you say that her father was dead?"
"Who knows, just stay away from her!"
"I got it..." The bully hadn't intended to provoke Charlotte in the first place. After giving a perfunctory response, he walked inside listlessly. Charlotte's mother breathed a sigh of relief. As she turned around to get into the car, she met a pair of cold eyes. The bully's mother's heart skipped a beat. She then realized that it was just a ten-year-old girl standing beside her.
"Why is this child so rude? What are you looking at?" the bully's mother said, her face full of displeasure.
Charlotte tugged at her backpack strap. She stared at the woman and said, "It's wrong to educate children like this. When Mr. Solomon Jr's life and death were unknown, you taught him to bully Mr. Solomon Jr's daughter. Now that Mr. Solomon Jr is back, you're afraid."
"Where did this child come from? What nonsense are you talking about! When did I teach my son to bully Charlotte!" the woman's voice was sharp.
"She's from the Solomon family." Christopher got out of the car. "Do you have a problem?" The tall figure, like a small hill, looked at the woman with cold eyes. The woman's face turned a little ugly. Oh, it seemed that Charlotte had just gotten out of this car. She wished she could slap herself. She had just reminded her son to be careful with his words, but she couldn't even do it herself.
"I have no objections, little sister, you're right. I will go home and reflect, I will definitely reflect!" After speaking, the woman got into the car and left in a hurry.
Christopher patted Charlotte's head. "Alright, go inside."
Charlotte nodded. She waved to Christopher and calmly blended in with the stream of children. As long as he didn't have to go on a business trip, the happiest time for Christopher was picking up and dropping off Charlotte every day. Watching her walk into the school like a normal child, and then seeing her return to his side after a whole day of learning with the other children. This was something Christopher had never dared to imagine before. Before Charlotte entered the school gate, she looked back. Christopher immediately waved and smiled at her. Charlotte looked a little worried. She took a few steps and caught up with Chicago.
"Chicago, my dad might have separation anxiety. After dropping us off, he stood there for a long time," Charlotte said seriously to Chicago.
Chicago looked surprised. "What should we do?"
"I'll think of a solution later," Charlotte said seriously.
Although Charlotte had already adapted to the life of an ordinary elementary school student. But she hadn't adapted to the life of an ordinary family. For so many years, the biggest requirement she and Christopher had for each other was to stay alive. Christopher now looked more and more like a good father. It made Charlotte a little uncomfortable. This day was like being put in a frying pan for Chicago. She counted the time on her fingers. During the morning break, Chicago went to the teacher and made a phone call to Fiona to ask about her father's condition. At lunchtime, Chicago even thought about climbing over the school wall and going to the hospital. But she was stopped by Charlotte.
In the afternoon, Chicago called Fiona again to inquire about her father's condition. And so, she finally made it to the end of the school day. Chicago packed up her school bag and ran out immediately.
"Chicago," Someone called her just as she ran out.
She turned around. "Ethan, what's up? I'm in a hurry!"
"This is for you." Ethan handed her a file bag.
The things inside should have been printed out not long ago. Chicago didn't hesitate to take it and hugged it. "I'll read it carefully, then I'll go, okay?"
Ethan nodded. Chicago ran immediately. Ethan watched her disappear in the blink of an eye. He was about to leave when Chicago called out to him.
"Ethan!" Chicago suddenly turned back and ran back to him, quickly catching up to him.
"What's wrong?" Ethan frowned slightly.
Chicago stopped him to the side, and then whispered, "My dad is back!"
Ethan was taken aback.
"Okay, I really have to go!" Chicago's happiness was felt very clearly by Ethan. Before he could say anything, Chicago ran away, this time completely out of sight. Ethan stood in place, his face pale, but his ears were a little red. In fact, many people in the school were talking about Darwin's return today, both students and teachers. Chicago never talked about what happened at home. So, Ethan never thought that Chicago would tell him on her own that her father had come back. Ethan felt much better. He turned around and went back to his own classroom from the other side. He had promised the head teacher to help a few students with poor foundations with their after-school tutoring.
Xavier had just entered the school gate when he saw Chicago running toward him. Charlotte was running after Chicago. Charlotte was originally going to find Chicago first, but she had just walked out of her building and saw Chicago running fast.
"Chicago, slow down, don't fall! Charlotte, you slow down too!" Xavier quickly and nervously shouted.
"Hurry up, my dad is still waiting for me!" "
