Chapter 136 Don't you want to die with me?

After some time, Darwin's nails were finally neatly trimmed. Four fingers were injured and bleeding.

"Alright," Fiona put down the nail clippers, "Mr. Solomon has no other matters, I'm going to rest now."

"I'm bleeding," Darwin looked at her, "Don't you feel anything at all?"

"I'm quite happy," Fiona smiled sweetly, "Mr. Solomon, would you like to watch a documentary about abortion? See how the baby is torn apart when it comes out from the mother's body?"

Darwin's face turned pale. "Fiona, can we just forget about this matter? We have such a long lifetime ahead of us, do you want to live in hatred forever?"

"I don't hate you when you're not around, but you shamelessly did such a thing and forcefully kept someone by your side!" Fiona became more and more agitated as she spoke, "Darwin, you have no humanity left in you!"

"Okay, please don't be like this..." Darwin knew she couldn't be too agitated right now, so he quickly comforted her, "I won't mention those words again, never again!"

Fiona's heart started pounding heavily. She glanced at Darwin coldly and walked straight to the side of the bed.

Darwin heard her forcefully close the bedroom door and lock it. He looked at his injured fingers and brought out the first aid kit to slowly dress the wound. Looking at the crimson on the tissue, he suddenly thought of what Fiona had just said.

"Do you want to watch a documentary about abortion? See how the baby is torn apart when it comes out from the mother's body?" Darwin's heart was racing. Almost involuntarily, he actually searched it on the internet.

There were quite a few anti-abortion documentaries like that. Darwin clicked on an animated one, but when he saw the medical forceps cutting up the baby's limbs and removing them in clumps, he was still greatly shocked. He closed the video and threw his phone aside. The pain and self-blame that had only slightly subsided not long ago surged back like a tsunami.

Darwin had been very tense lately. He couldn't eat or rest well. Perhaps it was because of the impact of the film, or maybe his injured wound had become infected. The next morning, when Fiona woke up, she found him lying on the couch, running a fever.

Fiona squatted beside him, contemplating whether or not to save him. It would be best if he burned to death, then she wouldn't have to go through all the trouble of faking her death and running away. But in the end, Fiona made the call to his private doctor. When the private medical team arrived, Fiona changed into a beautiful dress and went out to have fun.

When Darwin woke up and heard from the medical staff that Fiona had gone out to play, the look on his face was as unpleasant as it could be. He rarely fell ill. But every time he was sick before, Fiona was there by his side. Once he had a high fever, she stayed with him all night, continuously recording his feverish condition.

But now, he fell into a sick stupor, and she actually went out to have fun by herself.

Noon arrived, Fiona still hadn't returned. Finally, Darwin couldn't help but call her. Surprisingly, she answered. "Are you having fun?" Darwin asked with a stiff tone, and she could sense that he was struggling to suppress his anger.

"It's alright, just a little hot," Fiona casually replied, "Does Mr. Solomon need something?"

"Fiona, I have a fever of 39 degrees. Can't you at least ask about my well-being?" Darwin gritted his teeth, unable to bear it any longer! He started coughing fiercely after yelling. Fiona held the phone a bit further away and waited for him to finish coughing before answering, "With such professional and expensive medical care around me, what is there for me to ask?"

At that moment, Fiona's turn was up at the restaurant she was queuing at. "Mr. Li, it's my turn now. If you're fine, I'll hang up!" Fiona immediately said.

Darwin was shocked at Fiona’s attitude. “You come back right away," his voice turned ice-cold, "If you don't come back within an hour, I will cripple Dagmar's legs as well!"

"Darwin, you bastard!" Fiona stood up and cursed. Darwin let out a cold sneer and hung up the phone.

Half an hour later, Fiona returned to the villa. She forcefully pushed the door open, causing it to hit the wall with a loud noise. The caregiver taking care of Darwin hurried over, "Miss, Mr. Solomon is in a really bad mood right now, you”…"

"Do I look like I'm in a good mood right now?" Fiona's face was full of anger as she headed straight to Darwin's room.

Darwin was lying in bed, pale-faced, with a fever patch on his forehead.

Fiona entered, and he glanced at her. It seemed that he was quite angry. "Aren't you dead? Why did you call me back?" Fiona asked coldly.

The caregiver jumped in surprise behind her. Darwin also didn't expect her to say that, and he became agitated, starting to cough again. It was a suffocating and painful cough, his face turning red. The caregiver wanted to come forward and check, but Darwin waved her away. After calming down, he said, "You can go rest now, you have nothing to do here."

"Alright..." As the caregiver left, she still felt a bit worried and concerned that this beautiful young lady might kill Mr. Li.

After the caregiver left, Fiona, furious beyond measure, approached Darwin. "Darwin, if you dare harm Dagmar again, I will take you down with me!" Fiona's gaze was icy, and her tone was resolute.

Darwin looked at her with a weak, injured look in his eyes. "I... I won't,"

Fiona felt a pang in her chest, as if something had stomped on it. "Won't what? You've already ruined Dagmar!" The thought of this caused Fiona immense pain. Just because of Darwin's suspicions and jealousy, Dagmar's career was easily destroyed.

Darwin reached out and grabbed Fiona's hand, "I will make it up to him, I will build a hospital for him, make him a director... Fiona, I'm sick, I just want you to be by my side..." The pain pierced her heart like a thousand arrows, but that was all there was to it. Fiona couldn't understand why everything was fine before, why Darwin had to destroyed her life, Dagmar's life. She squatted down and looked at Darwin. "Darwin, tell me, is it true that you will only let me go if I die?" Fiona asked, tears silently rolling down her face.

Darwin, too, did not remain calm. He looked at Fiona crying and his own tears followed suit. "I'm sorry," Darwin whispered, "I really... really can't be without you."

Fiona was amused at his response, for her it seemed she heard the biggest joke. She laughed, her slender shoulders trembling lightly. "I understand," Fiona sighed deeply.

Darwin felt a strange sensation in his heart. "Fiona, can you accept death but not being with me anymore?" Darwin asked, his voice trembling.

Fiona looked at him, her beautiful eyes firm with determination. "Yes." If it wasn't for the babies, being forced by Darwin to this extent, she truly would rather die.

"Don't even think about it," Darwin pulled her forcefully towards him, his eyes red as he looked at her. "If you try to do anything foolish, there will be plenty of people who will accompany you in death!"

Sure enough, this was the Darwin she knew.
