Chapter 1000

"Father Ben is asleep; I came to get you." Alexander walked over and patted Mason's messy hair. "Does it still hurt?"

"It didn't hurt in the first place; your wife is just making a fuss," Mason muttered.

He glanced at Liam. Then, he voluntarily let go of Stella's hand and walked over.

On the way back, Mason rode in Liam's electric car, which was bought last year.

Liam and Mason each had their thoughts, and neither spoke a word during the journey.

On Stella and Alexander's side, it was much livelier.

Stella and Alexander discussed Patricia's strange behavior.

After listening, Alexander said, "On the way here, Liam told me that the follower was brought by her family. It seems she has Dissociative Identity Disorder."

"Dissociative Identity Disorder?" Stella thought she had seen a lot, but she had only seen Dissociative Identity Disorder in novels and movies.

"Yes." Alexander nodded. "According to her family, she has about eight personalities."

Stella frowned slightly. "No wonder she was irritable one moment and apologizing the next... Why didn't her family take her to the hospital? What can the church do?"

"Liam already advised them. They said they had spent a lot of money at the hospital with no results, so they were planning to try another church," Alexander replied.

By coincidence, when Stella and Alexander arrived at the parking lot, they happened to see Betty and her group leaving.

As she got out of the car, the gray-haired Betty saw her.

Out of courtesy, Stella nodded slightly in greeting.

Seeing this, Betty wiped her eyes and walked over. "Dear, is Mason alright?"

"He's fine, don't worry," Stella said gently.

Betty seemed to have endless grievances, holding back tears as she spoke, "Patricia is living a hard life, tormented by a bad man!"

"Please don't cry," Stella quickly comforted her, taking a tissue from her pocket and handing it to her.

"I can tell at a glance that you are a good person!" Betty looked at Stella, then glanced at Alexander. "Don't trust men too much; always leave yourself a way out. My daughter graduated from Nexus University and had a very bright future, but it was all ruined by that bad man! She was abused and mistreated to the point she is today!"

"Abuse?" Stella immediately frowned.

Today, Patricia didn't look at all like a well-educated woman.

"Yes, he mentally controlled my daughter, took all her money, caused her multiple miscarriages, and even..." Betty couldn't continue.

"Why are you saying this in public? Aren't you ashamed?" At this moment, Loren ran over and scolded.

"Ashamed?" Betty immediately got angry. "Now, do you know shame? I asked you to bring our daughter back, but you were stubborn. Now that she's like this, you feel ashamed!"

Seeing that Betty and Loren were about to start arguing, Alexander took Stella away.

"Did that man do anything besides abuse and mental control?" Stella, who was naturally empathetic, was almost furious.

Alexander comforted her a bit, and before returning to the church, he bought her a box of freshly cut watermelon to eat.

This temporarily calmed Stella's anger.

However, this anger was completely ignited when she returned to her residence.

"Stella, I heard you met a doctor who graduated from Nexus University today?" Lisa asked.

"Is she a doctor?" Stella was shocked.

"Don't you know her?" Lisa asked.

"Should I?" Stella was puzzled.

"She's been abroad for many years, so it's normal not to know," Donna said, "Her story was in the news."

"Is it because of her mental issues?" Stella asked.
