Chapter 449 What's the Big Deal?

Though she was rejected every time, Daisy Quinn developed an unwavering belief through her daily pursuit of Kenny.
She felt she was different to him, superior to any other prospect.
She even convinced herself that Kenny refused because he was still studying and devoted to academia.
Holding onto this thought, Daisy Quinn waited until Kenny went public.
The previously unattainable beauty showed unhidden affection on camera.
Daisy was nearly driven mad.
Then Aurora found her.
Daisy completely lost sight of the photos and videos Aurora held.
"She deceived Kenny! She lied to him! I'm going to kill her!!!"
Aurora grasped her trembling hands, persuading gently, "Daisy Quinn, what's the use of killing her? You have to let Kenny know the truth!"

That led to an explosive reveal on the forums and Daisy Quinn's dramatic presentation.

She was ready to watch that woman's sham get exposed and to see Kenny disillusioned and disgusted, publicly dumping her.
But what she had longed for didn't happen; from the start, Kenny chose to stand by that woman no matter what!
Daisy stood there silently.
She trembled as Kenny kissed the other woman, seemingly oblivious to anyone else.
It wasn't supposed to be this way; Kenny was hers!

Thalassa, constantly uncomfortable with public displays of affection, quickly noticed Daisy Quinn watching them from a distance.
Her body leaned backward as the kiss broke off.
Kenny was unsatisfied, but Thalassa patted his shoulder, nodding subtly in Daisy's direction.
He turned to look.
"Hey, do you need something?" Thalassa asked, her voice soft and devoid of the arrogant aura she had carried in the restaurant.

Daisy Quinn approached.

She quickly arrived before Kenny, her gaze fixed on him, her eyes brimming with unabashed infatuation.

"Kenny, didn't you tell me you had no intentions of dating? Why are you suddenly married?" As she spoke, Daisy Quinn finally turned her gaze to Thalassa, her eyes seething with resentment, causing Thalassa to subconsciously furrow her brows. "She's so ordinary; how is she fit for you?"

Ordinary?

Thalassa was at a loss for words. Honestly, not to toot her own horn, but with her height, looks, and presence, she was far from ordinary!

"Kenny..."

Daisy Quinn began to speak, reaching out to grasp Kenny's hand.

With his arm around Thalassa, Kenny stepped back, distancing himself from Daisy Quinn.

Her hand hung awkwardly in the air.

"Lady, I don't know you. Please have some dignity," Kenny said coolly.

Daisy Quinn was stunned.

She looked at Kenny incredulously. "I'm Daisy Quinn; how can you not remember me? I wrote you many love letters; we've met many times!"

Her voice abruptly stopped as she saw true unfamiliarity in Kenny's eyes. He didn't even recognize her!

So, after all those confessions, all those love letters, he didn't even bother to remember her!

"It's you!"

Daisy Quinn suddenly pointed at Thalassa.

"It must be you, scheming behind my back! You destroyed my dreams, and I'll kill you for that! I'm going to kill you!"

She finished speaking no sooner than she pulled out a knife from somewhere.

She lunged at Thalassa with it.

But before she could even touch her, Kenny kicked her in the chest with considerable force, sending Daisy flying.

A bodyguard, who had been discreetly following Kenny, immediately stepped in and restrained Daisy Quinn.

The alums from the private room had all spilled out to see the commotion.

"Kenny, you heartbreaker, I won't let her off the hook! I'll never let her go!!" Daisy Quinn seemed to have completely lost it, or perhaps she was desperate to smear Thalassa's reputation in front of everyone.

She was screaming her lungs out.
"Don't listen to her nonsense; I don't even know her," Kenny snapped, swiftly turning Thalassa around. His towering figure shielded her, his large hand covering her ears. "Let's go home!"

Lay watched the chaotic scene unfurling before him, and as Kenny's retreating figure vanished into the distance, he felt numb. His original goal for the party had been to discuss an overseas e-commerce project with Kenny. Coming from a well-established manufacturing family in the Midwest, Kenny was in a position to provide him with top-quality, stable supply chains.

Now, it felt like his efforts had been wasted even before the battle had begun, almost wishing he had just asked Kenny out for a meal instead!

"Has Daisy Quinn completely lost her mind?" Lay hissed under his breath, anger flaring, "Who even told her about the alumni meet?"

Aurora, the instigator, remained silent.

"Listening to her words, you'd think she honestly had something with Kenny and was scorned," a man jealously sniped, his tone laced with acidity.

Lay fixed his gaze on the speaker. "Why don't you discuss that in front of the Scholar?"

"I’m just having a reasonable discussion, Lay bro. What's the rush? The Scholar's human too, and humans have their flings!"

Lay's temper flared up at the comment, ready to lash out.

Suddenly, someone gasped, "Holy cow, the Scholar's wife is the founder of Prosperity Investments!"

"Prosperity?"

"The same Prosperity I'm thinking of?"

The crowd's attention quickly shifted. Despite not being a gigantic firm, Prosperity Capital had a solid reputation among international students. Especially lately, with everyone returning to start their businesses, it was hard not to hear about it. There were even plans for a Prosperity Tower back home.

"No wonder Jasper's dad is looking to partner with her... Her company's top-notch tourism and hospitality projects outperform some conglomerates' subsidiaries!"

"Damn, no wonder the Scholar chose her. I thought he just liked sweet girls, but she has some real skills!"

"My God, why couldn't I have met a boss lady like that? With her resources and connections, it would've been a huge leap forward!"

The onlookers discussed excitedly among themselves, leaving only Aurora, usually so gregarious, unusually quiet today.

Daisy Quinn was dragged away like a lunatic. She had thought she'd engineered a winning situation but catapulted Thalassa into the spotlight instead. Not only was her plan not damaging Thalassa, but it had also inadvertently informed their circle of Thalassa's significant background.

Aurora watched, envy consuming her as she observed the group eagerly discussing Prosperity Investments, the jealousy threatening to consume her rationale entirely.
She was only riding on the coattails of the Rhoads family and someone named Solomon, after all.
What was there to boast about?
