Chapter 904
On one hand, there was Stella's shining reputation. On the other hand, sometimes Stella really led Fiona astray.
In the foyer.
"Anna, repeat what you just said!" Fiona had just arrived, only to see David slamming the table.
This scene was familiar.
Fiona glanced at Stella.
"I can say it a thousand times; it's all the same. I have no obligation to you and the child you had with a third party. If you don't have money to eat or for medical treatment, sue me. The court will decide how much I should give you, and I will give you that amount. Don't even think about anything else!" Anna replied coldly.
Amelia said, "Anna, your father and I got together after your mother's death, you..."
"Amelia, are you trying to be funny here? Since you ignored my warnings before, and now you don't even care about losing face, then I don't care either!" Anna stared at Amelia and said, "I just want to ask you, do you know the person who told David that my mother and I are jinxes, bringing bad luck to him?"
Amelia's face stiffened for a moment. "How could I possibly know him?"
"Is that so?" Anna lowered her eyelids. "Bring the person in!"
A moment later, a thin man with white hair and a blind eye was assisted over.
As soon as Amelia saw this person, her mind boomed.
"Ms. Brown!" The old man saw Amelia and immediately shouted out, then turned to Anna. "It's her! She gave me five thousand dollars to say that you and your mother are jinxes!"
"Where did this blind man come from to slander my mother?" Leo suddenly erupted, lifting his foot to kick the old man.
Scarlet sat in her seat.
Beside her, the bodyguard who had lifted Jessie last night didn't hesitate, moving forward to grab Leo's arm and flipping him over.
Leo cried out in pain.
Amelia and David both exclaimed. "What are you doing? Why are you hitting my son?"
Scarlet, who had been quietly drinking tea, placed her teacup on the table with a snap.
The hall fell silent.
Everyone's eyes turned to Scarlet, including several members of the Torres family.
"The Torres family is impressive. Do you think this is a place where you can just kick as you please, bringing in people Anna calls for?" Scarlet glanced disdainfully at Leo. "You are lacking in upbringing."
Leo was a bully. Even though he was insulted by Scarlet and full of anger, he didn't dare to retort.
He could only grit his teeth.
"Since your affairs have brought trouble to my home, I have to step in, right?" Scarlet continued, "Mr. Torres, I have no authority over your lifestyle, but let's be clear, what this person said is just too much. Think about it, if you treated Ava and Anna well, and now Anna is married into my family, would I mistreat the Torres family? Even if your son is a fool, or even if he is mentally challenged, Samuel would still support him."
David's face turned extremely ugly. He recognized this person. And he found some truth in what this person was saying.
"That's not right either." Scarlet waved her hand. "If Anna had grown up by your side, she might have had all her luck drained by you, and she wouldn't have had the fate to become my daughter-in-law. So, by this logic, the real jinx is you, Mr. Torres, right? Anna and Ava met you, and that's when their luck turned sour!"
Stella looked amazed, even starting to applaud Scarlet silently.
"Scarlet, don't push it too far!" David roared, "I'm puzzled. Is your son addicted to prostitutes? Both the eldest daughter-in-law and the youngest daughter-in-law are..."
Before David could finish, a cold voice rang out. "Mike."
David subconsciously looked over but couldn't quite see the newcomer.
A dark, big-eared slap landed directly on his face.
The force was so strong that David felt like he might be knocked out.
He spun around in place, falling to the ground, and in his daze, he even saw his teeth falling out from the slap.
