Chapter 877

Chicago heard that Darwin was broke now, having handed all his money over to Fiona. Because of this, Chicago didn't spend her pocket money unless necessary. She had been saving it all for Darwin.

"Of course, Dad has money!" Fiona replied helplessly with a mix of tears and laughter.

Chicago felt relieved and happy upon hearing this.

Darwin watched her joyful figure and muttered, "Honey, does Chicago think I'm a jobless bum since I'm always at home?"

Darwin had a faint sense of something.

Chicago had worried about this before.

"Are you thinking about working again?" Fiona said.

Since Darwin's return, he had fully recovered in every aspect.

Fiona also thought about gradually letting him start working again.

Darwin nodded.

"Then, when we're in North Alabama, you can work online with me, and when we return, we'll gradually hand Solomon's affairs back to you!" Fiona suggested.

"Alright." Darwin looked at Fiona. "That way, you'll feel more at ease."

During Darwin's return, Chicago and Charles mentioned that Fiona had already reduced a lot of her work hours. But sometimes, Fiona would still have meetings that lasted until midnight. Or she would suddenly be called away for urgent matters at the company.

Shortly after that, Fiona, Darwin, and Christopher took the three kids out for a fun day together.

Fiona also stopped by to buy Thalassa some snacks she liked.

Then, the group headed back to Emerald Pool.

As for Chicago, this time, she ranked first in her grade.

Janna was overjoyed, smiling all day long.

Because they were leaving for North Alabama the next day, after dinner, Fiona stayed in and carefully checked Charles and Chicago's belongings.

Just as she finished checking, Mike arrived with Ethan.

Chicago was out walking the dog, but when she heard Ethan had arrived, she quickly ran back.

Seeing Ethan pull out a thick stack of test papers from his backpack, Chicago's smile froze on her face, and she instantly went quiet.

Despite ranking first in her grade, she still didn't love studying that much!

Seeing this, Darwin was very satisfied.

If Ethan kept up his diligence, he would eventually annoy Chicago!

After Fiona finished up, she was about to sit down and chat with Thalassa.

Stella's message popped up in the group chat.

Mason, chubby and cute, was truly adorable.

Stella had previously shared photos of Mason in the group.

"Mason is so cute, but his background is so sad, isn't it?" Thalassa couldn't bear to see kids suffer.

Fiona glanced at Ethan, who was grading Chicago's papers.

Compared to Ethan, Mason was being cared for at the pavilion by Father Ben.

Ethan...

Recently, Fiona had heard that Ethan had been sick at home. During the holidays, he didn't go to school, and no one noticed. He had a fever for two days at home, and on the third day, when he didn't show up for class, Harrison rushed over to find him, only to discover that he was delirious from the fever.

Ethan likely got sick like this often and was just trying to tough it out.

After learning about this, Fiona once again thought about having Ethan come live with her. But she was worried about hurting Ethan's pride.
