Chapter 788 Her Name
When it came to calming Darwin down, Fiona's experience was quite extensive.
With just a few words, she freed Darwin from his anxiety about his daughter having a boyfriend.
"What does Grandma ask for you?" Darwin suddenly changed the subject.
Fiona shrugged. "Grandma helped a kid grab some territory in the past. Now that kid has grown up, causing troubles, even affecting the Rhoads family and Solomon's maritime traffic. Grandma is planning to reclaim the territory."
"Is it dangerous?" Darwin asked.
He had a gut feeling that this matter was somehow tied to him.
"It should not be dangerous." Fiona played with Darwin's hand. "Grandma doesn't do things without certainty, so don't worry."
"Okay." Darwin nodded.
"Show me what you have learned today." Fiona casually changed the topic.
Darwin picked up the large sketchbook where he had written down words.
He obediently opened it for Fiona to see.
On the densely filled pages, Fiona almost immediately saw her name.
Upon reflection, she and Darwin had known each other for so long.
She realized that she had never seen Darwin write her name before.
Even when he was working beside her, whenever he wrote something related to her, most of the time, it was just "Secretary Woods."
"What's this?" Fiona pointed to her name, looking at Darwin smiley.
Darwin glanced at it and immediately smiled. "My wife's name."
Fiona's face lit up with a smile.
"Your wife's name is quite lovely," she remarked.
Darwin looked at her proudly and said, "Yes, not only is the name beautiful, but the person is too!"
"You're so sweet." Fiona teased, beckoning with her finger. "Come here and let me taste it."
Darwin obediently leaned in, letting Fiona do as she pleased.
Fiona held his chin and gave him a few kisses.
Afterward, she gently asked, "Can you write your wife's name now? Have you learned to write your name?"
Darwin shook his head.
Fiona got up, took a pen, and handed it to Darwin.
Darwin took the pen.
Fiona held his hand.
Darwin's hand was large with Fiona's small hand. Though it was not wrapped around well, that didn't stop Fiona from teaching Darwin to write his name.
The pen tip lightly scratched the paper, making a rustling sound that sounded particularly pleasant in the quiet living room.
Fiona held Darwin's hand.
Slowly, she wrote his name.
Today was the first time in Fiona's memory that she saw Darwin write her name.
Fiona had written Darwin's name many, many times before.
Once, these were just silent thoughts in Fiona's heart.
Darwin's attention was entirely on Fiona's face, not on his name.
When he was on the island, Gray would occasionally chat with him about which couple on the island, due to mutual dislike, was on the verge of divorce.
At that time, Darwin just listened for entertainment.
But now, as he looked at Fiona, he couldn't help but wonder.
'How could the couple dislike each other?'
After returning to Fiona, no matter how many years passed, his inner joy remained the same.
And he was certain.
No matter how many years passed, his love for Fiona would never change.
To him, Fiona was someone he would love endlessly, with or without his memories, his soul and instincts constantly drawn by her.
Darwin was lost in thought.
A slightly cold hand gently patted his cheek. "Pay your attention to learning. I will only teach once; if you don't get it, I'll have to smack your hand."
"You're so strict? Even Chicago don't smack hands." Darwin paused, then leaned in again, his lips brushing Fiona's earlobe as he said playfully, "But I like it if you smack my hand."
Fiona was stunned.
She was trying to teach him words.
Why was he suddenly flirting?
Fiona remained composed on the surface.
However, the quickly reddening ears gave her everything away.
"I don't wanna write; let's go to the room?" Darwin said, wrapping his large hand around Fiona's.
Fiona glanced at him.
Still serious, she said, "No, you won't go back until you've learned it!"
Without a word, Darwin took the pen and quickly wrote his name.
Fiona was shocked by Darwin's action.
Was Darwin trying to act like a handsome fool in front of her?
"Let's go!" Darwin had been a bit obsessed with his wife these days, playing some tricks.
Fiona found this both funny and annoying.
But she didn't refuse, just let him lead her to the elevator.
It was a chaotic day. It ended up in a mess of confusion and the absurdity of making love.
A room lit dimly in the main bedroom.
Clothes scattered all over the floor.
Fiona, exhausted, nestled in Darwin's arms.
"I have to go to the company tomorrow," Fiona murmured with her eyes closed. "Will you come with me?"
Darwin shook his head. "I won't go for now. If my memory loss is exposed, it might bring you new troubles."
Fiona gently caressed his waist, reassuring him. "It's okay. If you want to go, then go. Nothing else matters but you."
Seeing Fiona so tired yet comforting him, Darwin's heart softened.
Resistless, he kissed her several times and said softly, "Honey, let's talk about it when you wake up and go to sleep."
Fiona responded softly.
After nuzzling against his chest, she soon fell asleep.
The next morning, Fiona was still asleep.
Janna arrived with the person who designed the rehabilitation room for Darwin.
Seeing that Fiona hadn't woken up, Darwin let her sleep for a little longer and went downstairs alone.
When Fiona eventually came downstairs after waking up, the person who had come to measure had just left.
"Are you going to the company?" Janna handed Fiona a cup of hot milk.
Fiona nodded. "There are a few branches. I have to go back to the company today for a work report, probably for the whole day."
"Darwin won't go with you, right?" Janna also poured a cup of hot milk for Darwin. "Chicago has a rehearsal for a performance today. You should come with me to cheer her on."
Darwin subconsciously glanced at Fiona.
"What are you looking at her for?" Janna was speechless.
Fiona couldn't help but smile. "I am the head of the family; shouldn't he ask for my opinion?"
With that, she looked at Darwin. "Go with Grandmother."
Then Fiona teased Darwin on purpose, leaning close to his ear and whispering, "Take a good look; see if she's seeing someone behind us."
Darwin smiled with a face full of helplessness.
"Whispering so early in the morning!" Janna shook her head, feeling a bit disgusted. "I won't disturb your eyes; I'll go find my precious great-grandson and great-granddaughter!"
After saying that, Janna left the dining room directly.
She spoke disdainfully.
While she left with every wrinkle on her face, she showed a sense of joy.
