Chapter 742 I'm Doomed For Life

Fiona returned to the ward after seeing Thalassa and Kenny off. Mike happened to be there. Fiona probably knew why he was there. Her expression instantly turned cold.

"Miss Chelsea, Cyrus has been wanting to see you," Mike said.

"The one who hid Darwin, right?" Thalassa was furious. "How dare he show his face to me?"

Mike shared the sentiment.

"You tell them I'll see them when I'm ready. I call the shots," Fiona said icily.

Mike hesitated before saying, "What about Aura, I don't need to inform them, right?"

Fiona nodded indifferently. Why should she? They deserved to experience the agony of losing a loved one.

"Understood!" Mike left in a hurry.

Thalassa was still angry. "I want to go and teach that family a lesson!"

Facing Thalassa, Fiona's expression softened. She gently patted her back and said, "Let Kenny take you to the hotel to rest. You can go back first. When Darwin's condition stabilizes, I'll bring him home."

Thalassa, with red eyes, hugged Fiona and said, "If you need anything, just let me know!"

"I will," Fiona replied, patting Thalassa's back. Kenny then took Thalassa and left the hospital.

As they left, Thalassa looked back at the hospital in the scorching sun. She turned to Kenny and said, "I suddenly feel that Darwin isn't as despicable as I thought. I used to wish he would die soon, but now I hope he can be healthy and live longer."

Kenny gently touched Thalassa's head and said, "He will. The data in his reports is indeed alarming, but there's nothing life-threatening now. The blood clots in his brain have also dissipated."

"Hmm." Thalassa nodded.

Kenny was amazing. If he said Darwin could live a long life, then he would. After seeing Thalassa off, Fiona returned to the ward. Darwin was already asleep, under the influence of medication. Fiona sat by his side, holding his hand against her cheek. Her gaze remained fixed on him. Darwin's sleep was restless; he seemed to be having a nightmare, his brows furrowed and sweat beading on his forehead. Fiona quickly got up to comfort him, and Darwin soon woke up.
He gasped for breath, and only after recognizing the person in front of him did his guard drop, and he relaxed completely.

"You had a nightmare?" Fiona gently wiped the sweat from his forehead. Darwin held her hand and placed it over his heart. Sometimes people are strange. Aura lied, saying she was his fiancee, but from the beginning, Darwin was very resistant to any physical contact with her. Now, even without Darwin's memories, he instinctively enjoyed Fiona's touch and longed for physical contact with her. Even just holding Fiona's hand brought him great satisfaction.

"When can we go home?" Darwin asked.

"Soon," Fiona replied. "We'll go home after your body is ready for long-distance travel."

Darwin's eyes moistened as he stared at Fiona. "Am I different now from before? My face is scarred and ugly. Will the children be afraid of me?"

The previous Darwin was always proud and aloof. He would never have had such fragile concerns.

"No, our children are little angels, and there are no warmer kids than them," Fiona replied gently. "Besides, you haven't become unattractive, otherwise, that thief wouldn't have set her sights on you, fabricating a different name for you and making you her fiance!"

Speaking of this, Fiona couldn't help but feel some resentment. If Cyrus hadn't hidden Darwin, he would have received enough medical treatment from the beginning, and he wouldn't be in this state now. Thinking of this, Fiona wished she could tear that family apart.

"Don't be angry," Darwin said, holding her hand and giving it a squeeze. "I didn't let her touch me. I was weak last night, and I couldn't push her away."

Fiona was taken aback for a moment, then came back to her senses and asked helplessly, "You're so obedient even with amnesia?"

Darwin nodded. Seeing his obedient appearance, Fiona leaned over and kissed his pale lips. "My husband is really good!"

Darwin still couldn't shake the feeling that she wanted to leave him, based on his memories. Darwin's thumb gently rubbed Fiona's hand back. "Have I always been so good to you?"

Fiona was slightly taken aback, then nodded. "Yes, we've always been like that!"

"That's good," Darwin breathed a sigh of relief.

"You still look tired. Let's not talk anymore. You can sleep a little longer, and I'll be here with you." Fiona gently stroked Darwin's cheek, soothing him.

Darwin responded wearily. After that, the two of them continued to hold hands tightly, cuddling. Before long, Darwin fell asleep again. This time, he slept more peacefully. Around the same time, Aura, who had been rescued, woke up. When she fell into the water, her leg hit something, and when she was pulled out, one of her legs was completely fractured. The doctor said that there was a high probability that the leg would be disabled. When Aura woke up and saw that she was in the hospital, she became agitated. She tried to sit up excitedly and get out of bed.

However, the intense pain in her leg caused her to fall back. She held her leg, screaming in agony. The news of Aura's awakening quickly reached Christopher and Burl.

"You stay with my sister, and let me go and scold that idiot!" Burl didn't hesitate at all, handing his computer to Christopher and preparing to leave.

Christopher grabbed the back of Burl's collar. "Fiona said that even if she wakes up, no one can see her without her permission!"

In Burl's eyes, nothing mattered if Fiona didn't say so. "Why can't she let me go? I really want to scold that idiot!" Burl stomped his foot in frustration.

Yesterday, Fiona had grabbed Darwin's hand, and her arm muscles were strained. Thinking of this, Burl wished he could beat up Aura.

"This woman is amazing. She knows that my wife has come to find her husband, but she acts as if others are trying to steal her man. She can't get him, so she wants to drag him down with her!"

Christopher had seen a lot. He had seen even more ridiculous things. He was just amazed that Darwin could still be alive. Christopher was not surprised by Aura's behavior of stealing a man.

"Keep your voice down," Christopher paused, "You have to believe that the woman has offended your sister, and she will never have a good life." "
