Chapter 126 The Loss of a Child
The next second, Dagmar's piercing cry echoed in the air.
Tears filled Fiona's eyes as she stood, motionless, leaning against the window, watching Dagmar's tendons being severed. She had caused this to happen to Dagmar. She was the one who harmed Dagmar. Suddenly, the world spun before Fiona's eyes. Her body went limp, everything turned black, and she fainted.
"Fiona!" Darwin exclaimed in shock.
He immediately instructed the driver to take them to Solomon's private hospital nearby.
Fiona had a terrible nightmare. In her dream, she was still on Sesame Street, tiny and small. Her mother, in a whimsical moment, put little braids in her hair. It felt like having quills, and she cried as she went to find her brother Dagmar.
Dagmar was sitting on a bench in the yard, doing his homework. As soon as he saw her crying, he put down his pen and came over to embrace her.
"Mama hurt me!" Little Fiona buried her face in her brother's shoulder, crying, "Fiona is a little fairy, not a little hedgehog,!"
"Don't be sad, sister. Brother will untangle it for you and then take you to buy white rabbit ice cream, alright?"
"Yeah!"
Young Dagmar carefully wiped away the tears staining Fiona's face. And then, with great caution, he untangled her braids. Afterward, little Fiona followed young Dagmar to buy ice cream. Hand in hand, with one hand licking the ice cream, they skipped and hopped their way home. It was early summer back then. The old phoenix trees in the alley were flourishing, with leaves growing like crazy.
Walking hand in hand, the steps of little Fiona suddenly halted, for she noticed that her brother's hand was becoming increasingly slippery. She looked up, bewildered. Only to see blood gushing madly from her brother's wrist. And when she looked up further, her brother's head seemed to have disappeared. Fiona immediately looked up at the sky, crying out in anguish.
"Brother...Don't... Dagmar... brother..."
Darwin stood by Fiona's side, looking at the medical report in his hands. He heard Fiona calling out for Dagmar in pain from her nightmare. In the depths of Darwin's eyes, there was an icy coldness.
"Dagmar!" Fiona exclaimed, finally waking from her nightmare. She trembled violently all over, instinctively scanning her surroundings. Finally, her gaze fell on Darwin.
The scene of Dagmar's tendons being severed instantly appeared in her mind like a haunting nightmare.
"Why did you hurt him!!! Dagmar is my brother! Why would you do this!" Fiona rushed towards him in a rage.
Darwin showed no mercy, forcefully pressing her back onto the hospital bed, his large hand gripping her neck tightly. "Brother? What brother? Your lover, Brother?" Fiona, I gave you a chance, but you went too far with your deceit!"
Fiona looked at Darwin, filled with disappointment and despair. This was the person she once loved. A demon, a bastard!
Dagmar's hands were disabled, what should he do in the future.
Darwin caught her gaze.
Her heart started to ache.
His expression slowly relaxed.
The hand that was gripping Fiona's neck slowly transformed into a gentle caress on her cheek.
"Fiona, I have been cruel to you in the past, and I acknowledge that now, so I forgive you this time. After you dispose of this child, we will get married immediately, and I will still treat you well."
"What are you saying?" Fiona interrupted him with terror, "You know I'm pregnant? And you want...you want me to get rid of the baby?"
"Fiona, this is the limit of what I can do. I cannot let you have another man's child!" Darwin furrowed his brows.
For any man, this is a great shame. Forgiving her for what she did in the past has already been his limit.
"Another man's child?" Fiona's hand trembled violently, "You're saying that the baby I'm carrying is someone else's? What? Dagmar?"
"Otherwise?" Darwin grew increasingly impatient, "Do you want to say that the child is mine? Have you forgotten that we always took strict precautions before? How did you manage to get pregnant with my child?"
"It was on your birthday. We spent some time together." Fiona hurriedly explained.
Darwin wanted her to get rid of their baby. She couldn't care less about dignity or principles now!
"That's enough!" Darwin reprimanded her.
Fiona froze. She looked at him in disbelief, tears rolling down her cheeks. "It's true, the baby is yours!"
"The operating room is already prepared." Darwin pronounced coldly.
"If you dare touch my child, I will die to show it to you!" Fiona became agitated, "You utter bastard Darwin, you promised me that you would believe me, that you wouldn't doubt me anymore in the future!"
"Fiona, don't force me to take extreme measures." Darwin pinched her chin, "If you dare harm yourself, I will make Dagmar, Ashton, and everyone you care about suffer tenfold or a hundredfold."
Fiona was overwhelmed with fear. She grabbed Darwin's hand tightly, gripping it. "Let me give birth to the baby, we can do a paternity test!" Fiona continued to plead, "Darwin, I have never betrayed you. I only have you, one man. The child truly is yours!"
"Do you know what? The fact that you're pregnant with Dagmar's child has already spread in the hospital where he works. Dagmar admitted it himself and even said that he will send gifts when the child is born. Fiona, even now, are you still trying to deceive me?"
Darwin also wished that the child was his. But what he received were the dates from Fiona's medical records, and the baby was only over two months old. During that time, he was overseas discussing an alliance with the Ross family. His birthday was nearly four months ago.
"Mr Solomon, everything is ready now."
At this moment, the door of the hospital room opened. Fiona looked at it in terror.
Then turning to Darwin once again, she said, "Darwin, you'll go to hell." He wouldn't spare her. Fiona understood it perfectly. He was determined to kill her children
Fiona, you deserved it. Why did you believe he loved you? Why did you stay? Now you've harmed Dagmar, harmed Ashton, harmed the babies.
"Don't worry, whether it's hell or the human world, you'll be with me."
In the end, Fiona was pushed into the operating room. The doors closed, one by one. Despair overwhelmed Fiona's heart. How could her babies suffer like this. Their father didn't acknowledge them. And they would die at their father's hands.
"How is she?" At that moment, a familiar voice sounded.
"I was afraid she would get too agitated and affect the fetus, so I gave her a dose of sedative suitable for pregnant women."
"Good work. Everyone, please pretend. Let's pass this off!"
Fiona sat up in shock.
Wyatt happened to turn around. He then smirked like a fox, squinting his eyes and waving his hand, "Surprised? Unexpected?"
"How did you know? What are you doing here>"
Wyatt walked over and sat at the opposite surgical table, saying, "I have come as the knight for the princess. I have come to save you."
Fiona looked at the only remaining white coat in the operating room. The person in the white coat smiled and said, "Don't worry, I won't take away your children. Mr. Durham has already made arrangements."
