Chapter 1036

Sitting up while clutching her stomach, Stella pinched her stiff cheeks from laughing. "Why did you suddenly look for Abigail?"

Fiona looked at her without speaking.

Stella met her gaze for a few seconds, then exclaimed in surprise, "Did Abigail kill Arnold?"

"I'm suspecting it." Fiona lowered her eyelids. "Not just Arnold, but two accomplices also died. Someone was caught on camera near the scene, their face obscured, but their height and build were very similar to Abigail's."

"Two more people?" Stella covered her mouth.

In her mind, she repeatedly pictured Abigail's foolish actions and appearance.

Like most people, Stella's first thought was, could she really be capable of this? Killing Arnold wasn't enough; she killed two more.

"Arnold was first drugged and then thrown into the lake. The other two were young men, part of the Walker family's security team, and they died from cyanide poisoning," Fiona explained, "In reality, it didn't require much physical strength or intelligence, just tricking them into taking the drug."

"What on earth is she trying to do? Has she gone mad?" Stella was astonished.

Fiona half-lowered her eyelids. "Ever since she disappeared, I've been worried she might be resentful and come to take revenge on Thalassa. But the reporters said they hadn't seen her near the maternity care center recently. Instead, she snuck into the Walker family estate to kill Arnold."

Fiona furrowed her brows. She couldn't quite understand the logic.

"Could it be aimed at Anna?" Stella said in a low voice, "Besides, Arnold and Abigail aren't completely unrelated. I heard that when Abigail and her family came over before, Arnold was particularly unhappy and quite harsh towards them."

Fiona pressed her lips together without speaking.

"In any case, no matter who she's targeting, after this scare, she won't be able to take revenge on anyone," Stella continued, "She'll just have to wait to be caught!"

Fiona nodded. She checked the time. "Let's head back for now. Later, we'll bring Charles and Chicago over to see Thalassa again."

"Alright!" Stella nodded.

After a heavy rainstorm, it was gloomy and very cool.

It was perfect for a nap, and Stella felt sleepy as she headed back.

In the car, she saw from a distance the riverbank where children often played.

"How much rain fell last night? The whole riverbank is flooded," Stella murmured.

Fiona glanced over as well.

Stella said, "If it had rained a few days earlier, the kids would have lost a place to play."

Fiona said, "They'll still find a way to play."

Stella yawned again. She pointed to the children in the distance. "Are those kids playing with a dog?"

"Kids?" Fiona followed Stella's finger.

Because they were so far away, she could only make out a few small figures and a dog wearing a golden dog clothes.

"One, two, three, four, and five..." Stella began counting the children.

"Turn left and head towards the riverbank!" Fiona suddenly ordered in a stern voice.
