Chapter 100 Dad, You've Been Deceived for Years
Katherine leisurely wiped her hands with a tissue from the box on the table. "You two have done such terrible things. Don't you deserve to be punished?"
If it weren't for their despicable tactics, Katherine wouldn't have lost her virgin last night!
Seeing the uncharacteristic Katherine, Lillian gritted her teeth in hatred and scoffed. "Katherine, I always know that your obedience in front of Joshua was just an act! Now that Joshua isn't home, you're dropping the act, aren't you?"
Katherine smiled faintly and retorted, "Lillian, isn't your gentle and submissive demeanor in front of Joshua also an act? Do you need me to list all the good deeds you've done behind his back?"
Lillian was choked with anger and cursed, "You little bitch, how dare you compare yourself to me?"
Of course, Sherry sided with her mother and also cursed, "Katherine, she is right, you are a little bitch! Today, I'm going to teach you a lesson!"
As she cursed, Sherry rushed forward, raising her hand to slap Katherine hard.
Katherine didn't dodge or flinch. She firmly caught Sherry's wrist and held it tightly, asking her, "Sherry, there's no need for you to trouble yourself with teaching me! How did you get the contract resources from the Melville Group's film company? Do you dare to say it out loud?"
Sherry was stunned. She tried to pull her hand back but couldn't. She arrogantly raised her chin and said irritably, "Of course, it's because I'm outstanding, and the higher-ups at the Melville Group insisted on signing me!"
Katherine let go of her hand and chuckled lightly. "I think it's more because Kenny is outstanding, right? By the way, does Dad know about you having a godfather outside?"
Sherry steadied herself, glared at Katherine, and snorted disdainfully, "What's wrong with having a godfather? It's all about getting better jobs and bringing honor to the family! Besides, Kenny and I have a pure relationship. Even if Dad knows, I'm not afraid!"
Sherry, indeed, wasn't afraid. Otherwise, she would have been sneaky from the start and wouldn't have boasted about Kenny being a big director in front of Katherine!
Katherine nodded and then remarked, "I believe you have a pure relationship! But the relationship between Kenny and Lillian might not be so pure, right?"
Sherry suddenly felt guilty. She didn't expect Katherine to know it and quickly turned to exchange a glance with Lillian.
Lillian remained calm and then questioned, "Katherine, what do you mean by that? It's normal for Sherry to be appreciated by a senior at work and be recognized as a goddaughter! What does that have to do with me?"
Katherine looked at Lillian and raised an eyebrow. "As far as I know, Kenny had a first love before he became famous. They lived together for several years, and that first love's name was Lillian! It wouldn't be such a coincidence, would it? Kenny's first love shares your name?" she then added.
Lillian changed her face and then she inquired, "You... how do you know that?"
Katherine continued, "Lillian, you must be quite charming. Even after all these years, your old lover is still willing to help your daughter's career and recognize her as his goddaughter! Could it be... that Sherry is Kenny's biological daughter?"
Lillian pointed at her angrily, then snapped, "Katherine, stop spouting nonsense! Do you have any evidence to say that?"
Katherine shrugged, then answered, "I don't have any evidence!"
Lillian knew that with this country girl's abilities, she couldn't find any evidence!
Lillian relaxed and crossed her arms, looking confident. "How dare you talk nonsense without evidence? Be careful. I might sue you for defamation!" she then snorted.
Katherine sighed. "I can only tell Dad and let him investigate it himself."
Lillian laughed. "Don't try to scare me with your dad! I'm not afraid to tell you the truth. So what if I cheated? So what if Sherry is not his biological daughter? Do you think your dad will believe you without any proof? You have no idea how much he dotes on us. He believes everything we say! Even if he gets angry, we can easily calm him down. If you go and tell him something without evidence, he'll just think you're trying to sow discord! Save your breath!"
"Oh? Really?" Katherine smiled and turned her head towards the door, shouting, "Dad, did you hear that? Lillian admitted she cheated!"
Both Lillian and Sherry were stunned and looked towards the door in shock.
The front door was kicked open. Joshua walked in with a dark expression, shouting angrily, "You shameless woman! Lillian, how despicable you are!"
Sherry quickly ran over to try to calm her usually doting father, then she quickly said, "Dad! Don't be angry! Mom didn't mean what she said."
Joshua harshly pushed Sherry to the ground, cursing in disgust, "Stay away from me! I don't even know if you're my child! Didn't you just say you and your godfather are like father and daughter? Then go find your godfather and stop calling me Dad!"
Sherry panicked and then called, "Dad, I..."
Joshua ignored Sherry and took a quick step forward, slapping the stunned Lillian hard.
"Bitch! I pay you everything, and you dare cheat on me behind my back!" Joshua shouted.
Lillian fell to the ground in a mess. After coming to her senses, she cried and shook her head. "No! I didn't... Joshua, I didn't betray you, really! What I just said was out of anger. I was infuriated by Katherine!"
Joshua no longer believed her and sneered disdainfully. "Out of anger? Aren't you and that Kenny old lovers?"
Lillian darted her eyes quickly. At this point, she knew that denying it would be unconvincing.
So, she put on a look of extreme grievance, tears streaming down her face. She admitted. "Yes! Joshua, I did have a past with Kenny, but that was before I met you! I have nothing to do with him now!"
"Nothing to do with him? Then why would he recognize Sherry as his goddaughter for no reason? I think Sherry is your child with him!" Joshua sneered.
"No! Joshua, what I just said was really out of anger. Sherry is your daughter! If you don't believe me, we can go to the hospital for a paternity test! Don't listen to Katherine. She's just jealous and can't stand you being good to Sherry and me. She's deliberately trying to sow discord! Joshua, if you don't believe me, I might as well just kill myself!" Lillian explained quickly.
With that, Lillian suddenly got up and ran towards the wall, hitting her head hard and collapsing to the ground.
Joshua was startled and quickly ran over to help her up and check on her. "Lillian, you..."
Lillian had a small cut on her head and weakly said, "Joshua, you have to believe me. I didn't betray you. Sherry is your child."
Seeing her willing to die to prove her innocence, Joshua couldn't help but waver. "Lillian, do you really dare to let Sherry and me do a paternity test?"
