Chapter 977 Styling

"You accused me of being a homewrecker, didn't you? Just assume that's how I got it." Christina couldn't be bothered to explain further, she put away her phone and coldly looked at the three people in front of her.

These three people, by blood, were her closest relatives, yet ironically, they were also the most cold-blooded and vicious towards her.

"Have you checked the balance? Do you want this three million dollars or not? Are you going to sign this agreement?"

With money on the line, Renee immediately put on a smile, "Yes, of course, we'll sign."

"All three of you need to sign, personally!"

Bernard was right. Who knew if they would try some underhanded trick to bother her after taking the money?

Having all three sign at least gave Christina proof to confront them with if they ever went back on their word!

"Jared, should we sign?" Renee could make her own decisions, but she couldn't decide for Jared, so she quietly waited for his opinion.

Jared frowned and looked at Christina for a long time before nodding, "Since she doesn't plan to stay home and listen to us anymore, what's there to hesitate about? Sign it!"

With Jared's approval, the three quickly signed the electronic agreement on Christina's phone.

Afterwards, Christina threw the bank card onto the table and completely gave up on these three people.

"The money is yours now. From now on, I am no longer your daughter. Please remember that!"

Renee was excited to get the bank card, while Jared, sitting next to her, reached out and took the card, putting it in his own pocket.

Sure enough, they only cared about the money, not whether they had her as a daughter.

Christina sighed, not wanting to say another word, and turned to leave the Russell family.

Breaking free from the Russell family's entanglement, Christina should have been happy.

But after walking out of the Russell house, she didn't feel relieved; instead, she felt a sense of having no place to go.

This might be the last time she came here; from now on, she had no home.

"Christina, from now on, live for yourself!"

She didn't have much time to be sad; she had a lot to do next.

Leaving the Russell family, Christina had to find a job within the year and save enough money to survive.

And she had to repay Bernard's three million dollars!

What could she do to earn that much money quickly? The heavy debt weighed on her, making her anxious.

"Ms. Russell." A black car stopped beside her, and Billy got out to open the door for her, "Mr. Mitchell sent me to pick you up."

Christina was a bit surprised that Billy came, but she didn't ask much, nodded, and got into the car.

"Ms. Russell, Mr. Mitchell instructed me to give this to you." Billy handed her a box after getting into the car.

From Bernard? Christina took the box and opened it, finding a very exquisite dress inside.

"Mr. Mitchell gave me this dress? Is there an event I need to attend?"

"Yes." Billy nodded, "There's a banquet tonight that Mr. Mitchell is invited to, and he needs a female companion. You should be available, right?"

Christina nodded, "Of course, it's what I should do."

Her original role by Bernard's side was to shield him from unnecessary troubles.

As long as Bernard needed, she would accompany him to these events within the year.

"Ms. Russell, sit tight. We need to go somewhere before the banquet."

Billy sped up and took Christina to a high-end styling studio.

"This studio is partnered with our company. Many celebrities' red carpet looks come from here. You can fully trust their skills and let them style you!"

"Alright."

Christina rarely wore makeup, but she knew that as Mrs. Mitchell of the Mitchell family, she represented the family's image and needed to look presentable.

Following Billy inside, it was Christina's first time in such a styling studio, and everything seemed extravagant to her.

At that moment, a young man came out, greeting Billy with a smile, "Billy, long time no see. What brings you here today?"

The man then turned his gaze to Christina, "And who is this?"

"Hello, I'm Christina." Christina introduced herself with a smile.

Billy stepped forward to inform the man of her purpose, "Ms. Russell needs to attend a banquet with Mr. Mitchell tonight and needs your help with her styling. This is the dress Mr. Mitchell chose, please use it as the basis for her look."

As he spoke, Billy handed over the box with the dress.

Christina originally thought the dress was just exquisite and beautiful, but she didn't expect it to be personally chosen by Bernard.

Was Bernard, such a busy man, really concerned with such details?

"So, you're Mr. Mitchell's companion. Ms. Russell, I'm Gage Lester, please follow me." Gage smiled and led Christina inside, "This is our clothing area, but since Mr. Mitchell has already prepared such a fine dress, we don't need to look at clothes."

Following Gage further inside, Christina realized how large the styling studio was, with the clothing area alone being quite extensive.

"Ms. Russell, have a seat." Gage had Christina sit in a small private room, examining her reflection in the mirror, "Ms. Russell, you have very delicate features. Do you have any particular style you like?"

Christina shook her head nervously, "I don't usually wear makeup, so I'm not familiar with styles."

"I see." Gage was a bit surprised that such a plain woman could become Bernard's companion. "Since you have no specific requests, leave it to me."

Gage began moisturizing Christina's face with very gentle movements, "Ms. Russell, may I ask what your relationship with Mr. Mitchell is?"

"It's complicated," Christina didn't know how to explain her relationship with Bernard to others. After all, Billy had only introduced her as a companion, so she couldn't say much more.

Gage didn't press further, smiling as he started applying makeup, "If it's inconvenient, you don't have to say. I was just curious because Mr. Mitchell has never brought any lady here before, let alone personally chosen a dress. I think you must be special to Mr. Mitchell."

Special?

Christina didn't think so. If she hadn't accidentally stumbled into Bernard's room that day, they wouldn't have had any relationship at all.

As for why Bernard personally chose the dress for her, it was probably because he didn't want her to embarrass the Mitchell family at the banquet.
