Chapter 773 I Am Your Mommy
Katherine squinted her eyes, "Is she not good to your daddy either?"
Julian replied honestly, "She seems very gentle to Daddy on the surface, but if Daddy suggests going out for a walk or changing doctors for his leg, she finds all sorts of reasons to refuse and won't agree."
Katherine stared intently at the child, "So, you don't think she's your mommy?"
Julian nodded in frustration, "Daddy doesn't remember things from the past. That woman says she's his wife and that I'm their child, but for some reason, I just don't like her and don't want to call her Mommy!"
Katherine gently rubbed Julian's head, "She's not your mommy, and you don't have to call her Mommy."
Julian immediately looked up, a bit puzzled, "Aunt Katherine, how do you know she's not my mommy?"
Katherine looked at Julian with bright eyes and said, "Because I am your mommy!"
Julian was genuinely stunned, and his eyes lit up, "Really? Are you really my mommy?"
Katherine nodded very affirmatively to him, "Otherwise, why would I mistake you for my son George and take you home? Because you two look exactly the same, so I made a mistake!"
This news was undoubtedly a happy one for Julian, but he still had his doubts, "But why haven't I been living with you?"
Katherine hugged Julian closer and explained softly, "Because something happened three years ago that Mommy didn't anticipate, and I was forced to be separated from you."
Julian believed Katherine's words and also trusted his innate sense of closeness to her, "So, I don't have to leave you anymore, right?"
Katherine answered affirmatively, "I won't let you leave me again. From now on, we'll always be together."
Julian was very happy but then asked, "But what about Daddy? And what about Mommy's other son, George?"
This was also a dilemma in Katherine's heart. She furrowed her brow, just as confused as Julian, when she heard footsteps coming from the other side of the greenbelt.
She suddenly became alert, protecting Julian in her arms, and looked sharply in the direction of the footsteps, "Who's there?"
No one immediately answered her question, but the footsteps didn't stop either.
Until Jonathan walked out from behind a tree, smiling at her, "It's me, Katherine."
Although Katherine let her guard down, she frowned deeper. "Why is it you? Mr. Mostow, when did you develop a new hobby of wandering alone in the greenbelt?"
Jonathan pretended to be a bit aggrieved, but the smile in his eyes didn't fade, "Katherine, I came here out of kindness to find you, worried you couldn't get a cab, and wanted to give you a ride home! Is this how you talk to me?"
Katherine frowned disdainfully, "How did you know I was here? Were you following me?"
Jonathan quickly waved his hand, "No, I wouldn't dare! You already don't like to talk to me. If I were following you and got caught, would you still talk to me?"
Katherine scrutinized Jonathan with a discerning look, "Then explain why you came here at this time to find me and knew I couldn't get a cab and wanted to give me a ride home?"
Jonathan shrugged innocently, "It's like this! You just went to a psychologist's house, who happens to be a friend of mine. Actually, I was also at his house, just sunbathing on the terrace! When I came down to find him, I learned it was you who brought a child to see him, and then I ran into Teresa, who said you didn't drive, so I came out to find you!"
Katherine remembered that when they first arrived at Valentin's house, the housekeeper said Valentin was upstairs meeting a friend.
So, she temporarily put down her suspicion of Jonathan, "So you and Dr. Dobbins are friends too."
Jonathan smiled with his naturally mischievous face, "I'm popular, you know. I have friends all over the world!"
Katherine responded with a hint of sarcasm, "Yeah, I can see that!"
Jonathan shook the car keys in his hand, "Let's go! I'll give you a ride home!"
Katherine looked around at the quiet surroundings with no cabs in sight and then at Julian, who was still a bit bewildered after their recent reunion. After considering for a moment, she accepted Jonathan's offer, ""Alright, I appreciate it."
Jonathan sighed a bit frustratedly, "Katherine, with our relationship, you really shouldn't be so formal with me!"
Katherine glanced at him lightly, "Although we're friends, it's better to be polite to avoid any misunderstandings!"
"Alright." Jonathan was helpless. Deep down, he actually wished for misunderstandings!
Katherine carried Julian out of the greenbelt and got into Jonathan's car.
Jonathan drove personally, while Katherine sat in the back seat with the child in her arms.
The car slowly drove away from the quiet villa area.
Jonathan, always talkative, spoke while driving, "Katherine, I heard you recently bought the land at Silvershade Vale."
Katherine responded, "Who did you hear that from? Bernard?"
Jonathan laughed, "Bernard? He wouldn't tell me anything like that! You know, I just have a lot of connections!"
Katherine said, "It seems that auction house isn't very reliable, easily revealing clients' privacy. I bought the land at Silvershade Vale in the name of the Melville Group. Why, are you interested in that land too?"
Jonathan didn't pretend, smiled, and asked, "I am a bit interested, so I wanted to ask what your plans are for developing that land?"
Katherine looked at the scenery flowing past the car window, "There's no conclusion yet. The land was indeed bought in the name of the Melville Group, and the final decision will be made based on the company's needs and a board meeting."
Jonathan said, "I understand. The location of the land at Silvershade Vale is excellent and suitable for developing into a landmark commercial area. If the Melville Group decides to develop a commercial area, can you consider partnering with me?"
Katherine withdrew her gaze from the window and looked at the driver's seat, "Does the Mostow Group want to collaborate with the Melville Group on this project?"
Jonathan admitted, "Yes, I am considering it. The Mostow Group owns a piece of land near Silvershade Vale, but it's not as large as the one you recently acquired. The size of the land makes it somewhat awkward and challenging to develop on its own. If we could collaborate with the Melville Group, it would definitely be a win-win situation!"
