Chapter 380 Spoiling My Husband Without Restraint
Frank shrugged. "Just curious! How did Alex win over Katherine?"
Katherine was speechless.
Ambrosia walked over with a coffee and nudged Frank. "Move! Can't you see Katherine's working? Cut it out!"
Frank, annoyed, dusted off his pants from Ambrosia's kick.
Ambrosia placed the coffee on Katherine's desk. "Katherine, did you really make up with Alex last night?"
Katherine stayed silent.
Frank rolled his eyes. "You're just as curious as I am!"
Ignoring them, Katherine flipped to the last page of the financial report. "Great job on the second half of the year's report—big improvement! Let's keep pushing on the southern real estate project. We're still not on par with the big players!"
Ambrosia nodded. "Got it!"
Katherine closed the folder and sipped her coffee.
Ambrosia remembered something. "By the way, Katherine, the Melville Group loved your office building design. They've also given us the construction project."
Katherine thought for a moment. "Alright, I'll oversee the construction."
Ambrosia was surprised. "Katherine, you want to oversee it yourself? The site is risky, and you're pregnant."
Katherine squinted. "I know what I'm doing. It'll be fine."
Ambrosia wanted to protest, but Frank nudged her.
"Ambrosia, don't you get it? The Melville Group is now Katherine's family business. Of course, she wants to oversee it!"
Katherine fell silent.
Frank could be so annoying sometimes!
Ambrosia understood but was still worried. "Katherine, I can send our team. You don't need to risk it."
Katherine waved her off. "No need, I'll handle it."
When Crescent Tower was built, Katherine oversaw it herself. She could delegate, but big projects involved a lot of money, and corners might be cut.
If nothing went wrong, the Melville Group's new office would be where Alex worked for decades. She wanted to ensure it was safe and secure, so she felt better overseeing it herself.
Frank leaned over, pretending to be jealous. "Katherine, seeing how much you care for Alex, I'm a bit jealous!"
Katherine snapped out of her thoughts and tapped Frank's head with the folder. "Grow up, Frank! Stop fooling around!"
Ambrosia snickered. "Exactly!"
Frank rubbed his forehead. "Ambrosia, you're no better than me!"
Ambrosia shot him a cold look. "Katherine's telling you off, not me!"
Katherine checked the time—an hour left until the end of the workday. Perfect timing to head to the Melville Group.
She put down her coffee and stood up. "You two get back to work. I'm leaving now!"
Frank asked, "Where are you going, Katherine? Not joining us for dinner?"
"Picking up Alex from work!" Katherine waved and walked out of the office.
Frank shook his head. "What a sweet burden!"
Ambrosia gave him a disdainful look. "Go back to your office and be jealous there!"
At the coffee shop across from the Melville Group, Katherine found a window seat and ordered coffee. She wanted to surprise Alex by picking him up from work.
Suddenly, someone tapped her shoulder. She turned and saw a familiar face.
Teresa, panting, sat down across from her and grabbed Katherine's coffee. "Katherine, I almost died trying to catch up with you!"
Katherine raised an eyebrow. "You were chasing me? From where?"
Teresa caught her breath. "I chased you from the Crescent Group. My car broke down, and I couldn't get a cab, so I ran here!"
Katherine called the waiter. "A glass of ice water, please."
When the waiter brought the water, Katherine looked at Teresa sharply. "Your car broke down, and you couldn't get a cab, but I was in a taxi. How did you find me here?"
Teresa looked guilty. "Uh... well... I..."
Katherine saw through her. "You were secretly following me, weren't you?"
Teresa panicked and confessed. "Alright! I was tailing you! After my car broke down, I lost you, but I figured you were heading to the Melville Group. Then I saw you in this coffee shop and came in."
