Chapter 445 Private Time
Katherine set the pasta in front of Alex, who was lounging at the dining table, scrolling on his phone.
When he saw the steaming bowl of tomato pasta with a fried egg, he put his phone down. "You finished so fast?"
Katherine took off her apron and sat next to him. "It would've been quicker if you hadn't been goofing off! Now, eat it while it's hot!"
Alex smirked, grabbed his fork, mixed the pasta, and took a bite. "Not bad, but you don't need to cook for me. Let the maid handle it."
Katherine raised an eyebrow. "You think my cooking's bad?"
Alex pinched her cheek. "I'm just worried you'll get tired!"
Katherine pouted. "Making pasta isn't tiring!"
Alex got serious. "You're pregnant. You should take it easy."
Katherine leaned on the table, watching him eat. "Do you really want to be a dad?"
"Not bad."
"What do you mean 'not bad'? Do you want to or not?"
He quickly finished the pasta, put down his fork, and took a sip of water. "I do want to be a dad, but once the baby comes, you'll have to split your attention. Right now, I don't want to share you with anyone, not even our child."
Katherine was stunned, then laughed. "Alex, you're such a big kid! The baby's not even here yet, and you're already jealous!"
He drank some water, then looked at her seriously. "You think I'm being childish? I know couples need time together before having a kid. I'd like more time with you, but since the baby's coming, I'll welcome him with you."
Katherine found his serious talk adorable. She stood up, cupped his face, and said, "Don't worry, even after the baby comes, you'll still have my love! I'll share it equally!"
Alex pulled her into his lap and whispered, "But because of this baby, I've had to hold back every night."
Katherine blushed, knowing what he meant. "There you go again! If I had known, I wouldn't have made you pasta..."
"I'm a normal guy. When I'm full, of course, I want to..." He kissed her gently.
Katherine felt a shiver run through her body but knew they were still in the dining room. They couldn't go too far, or the maids would see them!
He might not care, but she did!
Katherine turned her face away, dodging his kiss. "Alex, you just ate and haven't brushed your teeth!"
Alex's breath was hot as he pinched her chin, turning her face back. His eyes were hazy, and his voice was hoarse. "Are you disgusted by me?"
He even touched her nose with his.
Katherine was flustered. He had hit her right in the heart. "If I were disgusted by you, I wouldn't be with you!"
She lost her reason and wrapped her arms around Alex's neck, kissing him eagerly.
Alex's bathrobe loosened as she sat on him, revealing his firm chest muscles, making her heart race.
Enjoying her kiss, he smiled and took control, wanting to savor every moment.
As their passion grew, Katherine clutched Alex's arm, looking at him with tearful eyes. "Not here, let's go back to our room."
Alex let out a sexy grunt, then picked her up, kissing her as he walked upstairs.
He kicked open the door, gently placed Katherine on the bed, removed his bathrobe, and leaned over her.
Katherine regained a bit of clarity and tried to get up. "Alex, I... I haven't showered yet..."
He pressed her back onto the bed. "No rush, I'll take you to shower later."
Katherine's ears turned red.
Alex kissed her lips. "Silly girl, at times like this, don't call me Alex. Call me something men like to hear."
In his eyes, she saw a desire hotter than ever before. She knew she might be up all night, so she tried to plead, calling him sweetly, "Honey, I'm really tired today. Can we..."
This "Honey" made his bones itch. "If you're tired, just lie down. I'll do the rest."
Katherine fell silent.
She should have known that trying to negotiate with a man in bed was impossible!
As his rough hands caressed every inch of her body, Alex's fingers seemed to carry an electric current, making her lose the last bit of reason, leaving her only with indulgence.
She didn't know how late it was when he finally let her sleep. When she woke up in the morning, Alex was no longer by her side.
Katherine felt sore all over and didn't want to get up.
She reached out from under the covers to grab her phone from the bedside table.
After unlocking it, she saw a message from Alex: [I already bathed you, so you don't need to shower again this morning. When you wake up, remember to freshen up. Make sure to eat properly.]
Thinking about how he had bathed her when she was too exhausted to stay conscious, Katherine blushed with embarrassment.
She sent him a disdainful emoji and tossed her phone aside, planning to go back to sleep.
But fate had other plans. Just as she closed her eyes, someone forcefully knocked on the door.
"Katherine, get up!"
It was the most troublesome girl in the Melville family, Fiona.
Katherine, still groggy, felt a bit irritated. She rolled over in bed but eventually got up, found a loose outfit in the wardrobe, and went to open the door for Fiona.
"Why are you looking for me so early?" Katherine yawned lazily, asking absentmindedly.
Fiona, seeing her still half-asleep, rolled her eyes in disdain and handed her a workbook.
