Chapter 192 Murder!
Sunny stood tall, raised her eyebrows, and said, "Do you think the Mitchell family would let an outsider like you know about our recent happenings right away? Who do you think you are!"
Theodore glared unhappily and then snapped, "Fine! Sunny, I'll pretend she's your sister! Last time was just beginner's luck, right? This time, we're doing an escape room. Let's see if you can pull off another win. I'm ready to watch you squirm!"
Sunny scoffed, "We'll see who gets scared first!"
"Let's wait and see!" Theodore sneered and led his four followers into the escape room club with a swagger.
Sunny, full of fighting spirit, turned to Katherine and said, "Let's go! We'll show them!"
Katherine frowned and then answered, "I didn't say I would go with you."
Sunny looked displeased and grabbed her. "You can't back out now! Come on!"
Katherine was utterly baffled.
Backing out? She was just a bystander and wasn't even involved. What did this have to do with her?
Seeing everyone else go in, Ella and her two friends followed Sunny into the escape room club.
Inside the escape room club, Theodore's group insisted on choosing the scariest theme, "Haunted Hospital," and symbolically asked Sunny if he had any objections.
Sunny wasn't scared and sneered, "Whatever! I can handle any theme!"
Ella and her two friends were clearly resistant to the famous "Haunted Hospital" theme, nervously moving closer to Sunny and saying, "Sunny, can we team up with you?"
"Whatever!" Sunny didn't mind.
After all, Theodore's group had five people, and with Katherine and the three girls, they could also form a group of five.
Theodore sneered, "Hey! Are you three sure you want to team up with that loser, Sunny? Be careful. He might get scared and leave you to the 'ghosts'!"
Sunny retorted, "Theodore, don't underestimate me. I won't be scared by such childish things!"
Theodore looked at Sunny disdainfully and ignored him, heading to the front desk to confirm their theme choice. He whispered something to the receptionist and then showed a sinister smile.
The game began, and they were about to enter the escape room.
Ella suddenly noticed something wrong and asked, "Sunny, where's your sister?"
Sunny was stunned and quickly looked around, realizing Katherine was missing!
Damn, Katherine had chickened out!
Seeing this, Theodore sneered, "Oh? Someone already bailed before we even started! Sunny, without your big sister to protect you, can you still handle it? If not, it's not too late to admit defeat now!"
Sunny gritted his teeth and snapped back, "You better worry about yourself! Don't end up crying for your mom!"
Theodore's face darkened, and he spat. "You're asking for it! Just wait!"
Sunny ignored Theodore and checked the surroundings again, but Katherine was nowhere to be seen, leaving him a bit deflated.
But at this point, there was no turning back.
Calming down, Sunny told Ella and the other girls, "Don't be too nervous. Remember, those ghosts are just people in costumes. Just follow me, and you'll be fine!"
Ella, encouraged by her crush's words, felt less scared and nodded admiringly. "Okay, Sunny, we'll do our best!"
With that, they entered the escape room.
The eerie atmosphere, lighting, sound effects, and temperature inside the room were all bone-chilling.
Theodore's group, who had entered first, was already working on solving the clues.
Sunny quickly led them to find the clues, and suddenly, NPCs appeared!
They were two male ghosts in patient gown with disheveled hair.
They emerged from a door near Theodore's group but bypassed them and charged straight at Sunny's group!
The three girls screamed in terror and clung to Sunny, making it impossible for him to run with them.
Meanwhile, Theodore's group had found the next clue and waved tauntingly at Sunny, "Sorry, we're moving ahead! Sunny, don't wet your pants!"
Sunny was furious but had no time to retort as the ghosts circled them, pulling at them.
Regaining his composure, Sunny pushed the ghosts to the ground and tried to lead the three girls to run, but then a horde of zombies rushed in!
The zombies staggered toward them.
Seeing this, even Sunny broke into a cold sweat. The NPCs in this escape room were so realistic and professional. It was terrifying!
As the zombies closed in, Sunny took a deep breath and told the three girls, "Don't be scared. Relax, close your eyes, and follow me!"
Hearing Sunny's reassuring voice, Ella felt braver and took a deep breath. "Okay! Girls, we can't hold Sunny back. Let's go!"
They charged ahead and caught up with Theodore's group.
Not wanting to lose, both sides frantically searched for the next clue.
This time, Sunny found the clue first and quickly gathered the girls to open the next door. As the door opened, there was a moment of silence, and then suddenly, seven or eight blood-soaked nurses walked out, laughing.
"No patients are allowed to run; it's time for your shot, hehe..."
"Shots, shots... happy shots... hehehe..."
The escape room was filled with the eerie laughter of the nurses.
The NPC nurses, holding syringes, surrounded Sunny and the girls, pinning down those they could and pretending to inject those they couldn't pin down.
Theodore's group watched from a distance, amused and seemingly confident NPCs wouldn't attack them.
However, a nurse with a bloody face suddenly grabbed Theodore from behind, waving a shiny knife in his face. "Patient, let me draw some blood!"
Theodore screamed in fear and cursed, "Damn! Why are you coming after me? I told the front desk to keep the NPCs off us. They're supposed to go after them, not me! Don't you want your double pay?"
The nurse seemed to realize her mistake and quickly let go, then rushed toward Sunny, stabbing him in the abdomen!
Blood splattered everywhere!
Theodore's group was stunned. Things were getting out of hand.
Did she really stab him?!
The nurse pulled out the knife, causing more blood to gush out. As Sunny fell, she crouched down and repeatedly stabbed him!
Until Sunny's body went limp and lifeless.
Ella covered her mouth in horror, her eyes red with fear. "She... she killed him!"
