Chapter 916 The Suspicious Balloon
"My two friends are getting married today. I really should go back. Plus, my child is still there," Katherine said.
Hearing this, Nora felt a bit relieved. "Alright, you go ahead! I'll call you once your mom and I get to the new hospital."
"Thank you!" Katherine nodded, patted Linda on the head, and turned to leave, not noticing Sunny hiding in the corner, secretly observing.
After leaving the hospital, Katherine didn't go directly to the wedding venue. Instead, she drove to the Galatea Villa, a place she hadn't set foot in for many years.
At this moment, the Galatea Villa was in chaos.
Joshua had returned from the hospital and started to settle accounts with Lillian and her daughter!
"You two have some nerve! You even dared to stab someone! Do you know who you hurt? You've offended a big shot and got me beaten up along with you!"
Lillian and her daughter knelt on the ground, crying with bruised faces.
Sherry said, "Dad, Mom and I didn't do it on purpose. We thought those two women were trying to seduce you!"
Lillian echoed, "Yes, Joshua! I did it because I care about you. I was afraid another woman would take you away, so I acted impulsively! Sherry and I have already been punished by them. Please don't hold us responsible anymore."
Joshua sneered, "Care about me? You care about the property I own! Lillian, let me tell you, don't think I don't know why you married me. I've seen through you over the years! You've even corrupted Sherry!"
Sherry felt wronged, "Dad, how can you say that about me? I'm your biological daughter!"
Joshua's face was also injured, and his body was covered in bruises. It was painful all over, and it was already difficult for him to sit and talk. He was about to scold the hypocritical Sherry when a sudden knock on the door startled him.
Someone else was here?
The terrifying men in black had just left, and now who was causing trouble?
The three of them had just been punished, and now they were instinctively fearful upon hearing the knock.
Joshua struggled to get up and walked to the door. He didn't dare open it directly and asked, "Who is it?"
"It's me, Katherine!"
Hearing Katherine's voice, Joshua's expression showed some surprise. He hesitated for a moment before opening the door.
Katherine stood at the door with a stern expression. Seeing Joshua's swollen face, she raised an eyebrow.
Nowadays, Joshua was somewhat afraid of Katherine. "What, what are you doing here? Do you need something?"
Katherine looked at his battered body and said, "Why? Is it a problem if I come in and sit for a while?"
Joshua looked around to make sure Katherine was alone before opening the door wider. "Come on in."
Katherine walked in with her arms crossed and saw Lillian and her daughter kneeling on the ground with bruised faces.
Sherry saw Katherine return and gritted her teeth in hatred. "Why are you back? Did you come back just to laugh at us, you bitch?"
Lillian also glared at Katherine. "You didn't come back earlier or later, but now. If you're not here to laugh at us, what else could it be?"
Before Katherine could respond, Joshua scolded them, "Shut up! Do you two think you haven't been beaten enough today?"
Lillian and her daughter shrank back, not daring to speak again.
Katherine was now part of the Melville family, someone they couldn't afford to offend!
Joshua spoke to Katherine more politely, "Katherine, is there something you need? Do you miss me?"
Hearing Joshua's "miss me" made her feel disgusted. She coldly said, "Mr. Galatea, please have some self-respect. I did have something to do, but seeing your family's current state, I don't anymore!"
Sherry couldn't help but say, "Dad, see! I knew she came back just to laugh at us!"
Joshua was also unhappy. He had been beaten because of Katherine, but he didn't dare provoke her now and didn't say anything.
Katherine originally came back to avenge Claire, but seeing them so badly injured, with no unscathed spot on their bodies, she had no way to strike. So be it!
Not wanting to look at this family any longer, Katherine turned and left.
As she walked out of the Galatea Villa, she didn't hear the three of them say anything more. Of course, she knew that after she left, Lillian and her daughter wouldn't say anything good about her.
It didn't matter; who cared!
This family wouldn't have a good life even if left alone. They were all greedy people who would eventually tear each other apart!
Leaving the Galatea villa, Katherine planned to return to Frank and Teresa's wedding. Both were very important friends to her, and she couldn't miss it.
As she walked to her car, Katherine suddenly felt a murderous intent from behind. She turned around sharply but saw no danger, only a man holding a bunch of helium balloons walking in the other direction.
Katherine squinted her eyes, thinking she might be tired and imagining things.
Just as she was about to get in the car, she remembered something important and looked back at the man selling balloons.
At this moment, the Galatea Villa erupted in argument.
After Katherine left, Joshua started yelling at Lillian and her daughter again!
At first, Lillian and her daughter endured it, but eventually, they couldn't take it anymore!
Lillian stood up with her injured body, "Joshua, have you had enough? Do you really think I'm afraid of you? What kind of man are you? Your wife and daughter were bullied by outsiders, and instead of defending us, you join in the bullying! I want a divorce!"
Sherry was shocked and looked at them anxiously.
Joshua didn't expect Lillian to talk back. After a moment of surprise, he gritted his teeth and said, "Fine, divorce! Take your useless daughter and get out of my house!"
Lillian sneered, "You want me to leave? Not so easy! Joshua, don't forget, we're legally married. If you want a divorce, we'll go through the legal process, and our joint property will be split in half!"
What? Split in half? Joshua looked at Lillian, who had finally revealed her ambition. "You're dreaming! What joint property? There is no joint property! All the property was left to me by my ancestors! I've spent a lot on you two over the years. It's good enough that I'm not asking for it back!"
