Chapter 427 Kneeling to Apologize
Edwin stood up and said, "Alright, Scarlett, if there's a misunderstanding, just ask for an apology. No need to make someone kneel."
Scarlett was still firm. "Dad, you doubted Mom too. You're her partner, and even you doubted her. How do you think that makes her feel? How can she face you now?"
"Katherine's so-called suspicion has hurt our family. So, I want she to take responsibility and kneel to apologize to Mom to clear her name!"
Bernard, getting impatient, said, "Enough, Scarlett, you..."
Katherine calmly interrupted, "Everyone, no need to speak for me. If the test results show I wronged Mrs. Alice Mitchell, I'll kneel and apologize."
The room went silent.
Bernard looked at Katherine with a mix of heartache and confusion.
Alex frowned, unhappy with Katherine's decision. Just as he was about to speak, Katherine, anticipating his reaction, tugged on his hand, looked up at him, and shook her head, signaling him to stay quiet.
He had no choice but to stay silent and watch.
No one else spoke, and Scarlett's eyes flashed with satisfaction.
She pretended to wipe away tears and turned to the doctor, saying, "Alright, sir, please announce the results now?"
The doctor nodded, maintaining a serious expression, and said, "After our tests, we confirm that the pomegranate juice is indeed freshly squeezed and very pure."
Scarlett heard the expected answer and secretly laughed, feeling confident.
The doctor had accepted her bribe, so he wouldn't reveal the true contents of the juice unless he didn't want the money!
"Katherine, did you hear that? The pomegranate juice is pure. My mom is innocent, and you wronged her!"
Alice put on a bitter smile, looking wronged but still willing to forgive, and sighed. "It's alright, as long as everyone knows I'm innocent! Scarlett, Mom won't hold a grudge!"
"No way! Mom, I promised to get justice for you!" Scarlett insisted, "Katherine, now please formally apologize to my mom!"
The men nearby almost simultaneously frowned.
Katherine's lips curled slightly. "Scarlett, don't be in such a hurry. It seems the doctor hasn't finished speaking."
Scarlett felt disdainful, thinking Katherine was just being stubborn.
"Sir, this lady seems to have some doubts about your results. Please explain it to her again."
The doctor said in a deep voice, "She is right. I hadn't finished speaking before I was interrupted! Miss Mitchell, please don't interrupt me again."
Scarlett's face stiffened. "Uh..."
Why was this doctor so rude even after taking her money?!

"Sir, what are you talking about? Saffron? How could there be saffron in the pomegranate juice? You must be mistaken. Please check the report again," Scarlett said, signaling to the doctor.
The doctor remained firm. "Miss Mitchell, I am not mistaken. If you don't believe me, you can look at the report yourself. It's clearly written."
He handed the report to Scarlett.
Scarlett glared at the doctor, her plan falling apart. How could he...?
Before she could grab the report, Bernard snatched it away, his face darkening as he read it.
Alice, who had been waiting for Katherine to kneel and apologize, now looked uneasy and pale.
In a fit of rage, Bernard threw the report at Alice's face. "Alice, that pomegranate juice was for our guest, Ms. Galatea, right? Why would you add concentrated saffron extract to a drink for a pregnant guest? What were you thinking?"
Alice's mind raced as she looked at the scattered report.
With the evidence in front of her, she couldn't deny it, so she feigned surprise. "Oh my! How was I supposed to know Ms. Galatea was pregnant? She looks so young and slim; you can't tell she's pregnant at all!"
Bernard tightened his jaw and coldly snorted. "Even if you didn't know she was pregnant, does that justify adding excessive amounts of a toxic substance to the drink?"
Alice, trying to sound innocent, said, "Bernard, listen to me. Yes, I added some saffron extract to the juice, but I didn't know too much was toxic!”
“I found the recipe online. It said adding saffron would make the juice taste better and be good for the body!”
'I thought Ms. Galatea was an honored guest, and since saffron is precious, I didn't want to be stingy, so I added more to show my gratitude.
Who knew too much of a good thing would have such severe side effects? If I had known, I wouldn't have let Sunny drink so much!"
In reality, Alice knew about the side effects but didn't expect it to affect males so severely.
Bernard wasn't easily fooled. "Oh? An online recipe? Where is it? Show it to me!"
Alice's expression became strained. "I deleted the recipe after making the juice. I didn't save it."
Bernard's eyes narrowed. "Then search for it again, Alice. I want to see what kind of recipe instructs adding harmful amounts of concentrated saffron extract to juice!"
