Chapter 751 He Has Amnesia?
Trevor was indeed a bit surprised. He was surprised that a man would knock on their suite door at this hour.
That was all; he didn't understand the meaning behind the man's words.
"Who are you?" Trevor asked.
Hearing this question, Bernard's expression froze for a moment before a sarcastic smile spread across his face. "What, Mr. Melville, did you lose your memory?"
Trevor remained calm. "I don't remember much from the past. Judging by your tone, do we have some kind of grudge?"
Bernard's resentment flared at Trevor's indifferent demeanor. "You idiot! Do you have any idea how Katherine has been searching for you these past three years? She wasted her youth on you!"
Trevor raised an eyebrow, feeling a slight sting at the mention of that name. "Who is Katherine?"
Bernard, unable to contain his anger, grabbed Trevor by the collar. "You bastard! How could I have agreed to let Katherine be with a man like you!"
At this moment, the sound of the elevator door opening came from the hotel corridor.
Trevor's eyes became deeper slightly. He glanced sideways in the direction of the elevator, then raised his hand to push Bernard's grip off his collar. In a low voice, he said, "Now's not a good time. Tomorrow at 2 PM, she'll be out for an hour. Come then, and we'll talk in detail."
Bernard let go, turned his head to look at one side of the corridor, and heard the sound of high heels approaching from around the corner, understanding the situation.
He gave Trevor a cold look before turning around and returning to his suite.
When Sophia turned the corner, she didn't see anyone in the corridor, only hearing the sound of a suite door closing.
She was a bit wary, quickly walked over, swiped her card to open the door, and saw Trevor sitting in a wheelchair, just turning around.
"Trevor, did someone come by just now?" she asked while looking around the suite, checking for any signs of someone having been there.
Trevor didn't turn around, controlling the wheelchair towards the bedroom, his tone very calm. "Yes, a cleaning staff wanted to come in and clean. I told her the child was sleeping and it wasn't necessary for now, so she left."
Sophia was still a bit suspicious, forcing a natural smile. "I didn't see any cleaning staff in the corridor when I came in just now."
Trevor's tone remained flat, without a hint of emotion. "After I told her it wasn't necessary, she went to clean the suite opposite."
The suspicion in Sophia's eyes gradually dissipated. "So someone moved into the suite opposite! Trevor, come and see. I bought a lot of groceries. Let's decide together what to make for dinner."
Trevor still didn't turn around. "You put them in the kitchen first. I'll go check if Julian is awake."
Sophia, who had been quite happy, thought Trevor would be a bit more enthusiastic about cooking, but he remained indifferent.
What should she do to really win Trevor's heart?
Bernard returned to his suite across the hall, and Billy, who was watching by the door, asked, "Mr. Mitchell, did you confirm that the man living opposite is Alex Melville?"
Bernard shook his head slightly. "That guy doesn't recognize me. I don't know if he's pretending or if he really has amnesia."
Billy was slightly surprised. "Amnesia?"
Bernard sat on the sofa, took a sip of water. "He seems to be controlled by Sophia. He said it wasn't convenient to talk and asked me to come back at 2 PM tomorrow to discuss in detail."
Billy frowned cautiously. "Mr. Mitchell, you should be careful. It might be a trap."
Bernard responded thoughtfully, "I know."
Billy pointed to the phone on the table. "Mr. Bernard Mitchell, Ms. Galatea called you just now. I answered and told her you'd call back. Also, Mr. Edwin Mitchell called, but I didn't dare to answer for you."
Bernard squinted at the phone on the table, then picked it up to call Katherine back.
The phone rang for a while before it was answered.
"Katherine, what's up? Do you need something?"
Katherine asked, "Mr. Mitchell, did the auction house get back to you? Have they confirmed Brent and Sophia's father-daughter relationship?"
Hearing that Katherine was still worrying about the Melville Group's matters even after returning home, and thinking about Alex's indifferent attitude just now, Bernard felt a pang of sadness. "Not yet. Katherine, you don't need to worry about this. I'll handle it. The land will be yours, and the price will satisfy you."
"Let me know as soon as there's progress." Katherine was anxious about this matter, feeling that Sophia wouldn't easily admit it.
Bernard responded gently, "Okay, how are the kids?"
Katherine said, "They're eating. They'll go upstairs in a while."
Bernard said, "You should rest well too. Don't think too much. If staying at the Melville Mansion is tiring, come find me. My home is always open to you and the kids."
Katherine fell silent.
Over the years, Bernard had often suggested she come home, but she always refused.
She knew Bernard didn't want her waiting at the Melville Mansion for a man who might never return.
But she was willing. Even if she left the Melville Mansion one day, she wouldn't go to the Mitchell Mansion.
She hadn't forgotten how she and her mother were driven out by the Mitchell family.
"Mr. Mitchell, you should get back to work. I won't disturb you."
She didn't respond to Bernard's words, maintaining a sense of distance, and hung up the phone.
Hearing the busy tone from the phone, Bernard pinched the bridge of his nose.
His greatest wish now was for Katherine to live a happy and joyful life without any more accidents.
After a moment of silence, Bernard called Edwin back.
"Dad, what's up?"
Edwin's tone was gentle. "Bernard, where are you? Why didn't you come home this weekend?"
Because of his mother and Katherine's disappearance, Bernard had always been cold towards his father. "Is there something you need?"
Edwin said, "Did you forget? Sunny is coming back today. Your grandparents and I just picked her up from the airport. Come home; we're having dinner together tonight!"
Bernard said, "You guys go ahead and eat. I have something to do today, so I won't be back."
"Sunny hasn't been home for three years. You should at least show your face."
"I'll come back tomorrow. That's it for now."
Then Bernard hung up the phone.
He had forgotten that Sunny was coming back today.
Over the past three years, he often visited Sunny's school. The school leaders said Sunny was making great progress and was very diligent and eager to learn. Seeing Sunny's changes, he was quite surprised, originally thinking Sunny would return in a few days.
