Chapter 182 Abandoning Sunny, Saving Herself
Seeing his sister's eyes reddened with grievance, Bernard's heart softened. He reached out to wipe away her tears and coaxed, "Alright, Scarlett, don't cry. I was just casually asking you."
Scarlett sniffled sadly and complained, "Your tone just now was clearly not casual. You were so serious."
Bernard sighed helplessly and explained gently, "Scarlett, that phone has always been in my study drawer. Now, someone has edited a video from that phone and posted it online to slander Katherine, causing a big commotion.
He added, ''I just asked you symbolically to clear your suspicion, so I can justifiably have Billy thoroughly investigate the other people in the house. Alright, don't feel wronged. How could I not believe you?"
Scarlett wiped her tears and nodded sensibly. "I see! If that's the case, it's understandable if you really suspect me. After all, I'm the only one who can freely enter and exit your study."
A wave of guilt washed over Bernard. He'd let his suspicions get the better of him. He reached out and took her hand, his touch hesitant and apologetic.
Scarlett continued, "But I didn't do it, nor would I do such a bad thing! Bernard, actually, it's not just me who has been in and out of your study these past few days! Lately, haven't you been making Sunny finish his homework in your study every day?''
She added, ''The servant Furry who takes care of Sunny and the servants who bring tea and water to Sunny. They've all been in and out of your study frequently. They should all be thoroughly investigated to see who is so malicious to slander Katherine online!"
"Sunny?" The warmth in Bernard's expression faded, replaced by a stern look.
Scarlett pretended to be startled and then showed a worried expression, anxiously speculating. "Bernard, do you think Sunny could be behind this? After speaking, Scarlett turned and walked out of the study. Once outside, her previously obedient and sensible expression turned dark, and she gritted her teeth in frustration.

She never expected that Bernard, who wouldn't waste a second on outisders, would actually spend time investigating such a trivial matter for Katherine today?!
The worst-case scenario would be if Bernard found out she was behind it, then she'd be done for!
So, she had to shift the suspicion onto Sunny and adapt accordingly.
After sending away his easily agitated sister, Bernard's expression turned serious. He instructed Billy, "Go get Sunny for me."
Billy bowed and answered, "Yes!"
When Billy went to Mr. Mitchell's room to deliver the message, Sunny was troubled by Rabbit, his mentor, who had kicked him out of the deep web.
He wanted to re-enter the deep web, but he couldn't because Rabbit had locked his ID for 48 hours!
Why?!
He frustratedly slapped the keyboard, feeling helpless. He could only browse the latest updates on the 'Katherine extortion case' on Twitter and other websites.
Good, those posts and videos slandering Katherine were gone. At least it wouldn't get worse.
Next, he needed to find a way to clear Katherine's name. Otherwise, she wouldn't be able to move freely in public without being recognized and attacked.

Billy said, "I don't know. You should go ask him yourself!"
"I got it! I'll be there soon," answered he.
Sunny felt uneasy. Whenever his brother Bernard called for him, it was either to lecture him or force him to study, never for anything good.
Five minutes later, Sunny reluctantly arrived at Bernard's study.
Sunny asked, "Bernard, what's up?"
He knocked on the door, but after a long time, there was no response from inside.
So, he tried pushing the door open and found that the study was empty.
He called out, "Bernard? Bernard, are you here?"
Sunny sneaked into the study, his eyes darting around, making sure the coast was clear. His brother wasn't there. A mischievous grin spread across his face. He had an idea.
Why not take this chance to back up the original video from that influencer's phone and post it online to clear Katherine's name?
While doing homework under his brother's watch these past few days, he noticed his brother kept that blogger's phone in the left drawer of his big desk.
With his plan set, Sunny checked around again, then walked over and opened the drawer. Sure enough, there was the blogger's phone!
