Chapter 1047 Ruben Comes to See Her
"Christina, listen to me. You should focus all your energy on acting right now. Other things are not worth your effort. Once your career is successful, you'll have more confidence in other areas," Curtis comforted her.
The producer couldn't help but disagree with Curtis. "It's okay, going through some tough times can help you portray characters more easily. Christina forced a smile, which looked even more painful. "I understand, thank you, director, and thank you, producer."
At this moment, in Virginia's trailer.
"Bernard, aren't you busy at the company? How do you have time to come to the set?"
Virginia wore a perfectly timed smile and sat down next to Bernard.
She automatically assumed that Bernard was here to see her.
"I'm not here to see you. I have other things to do. If you don't have anything important, I'll leave."
A look of embarrassment flashed across Virginia's face. "Bernard, you rarely come to the set. Why leave in such a hurry?"
She thought for a moment and then said, "Don't you want to see Christina act? Christina is very popular online now; everyone loves her. Even many male staff members in our crew have a crush on her!"
No wonder Christina was indifferent to him; she had many admirers.
Bernard said in a deep voice, "It's just acting. It's not like I haven't seen it before."
"Christina is your wife. Aren't you curious about what kind of role she's playing? Besides, if you don't take this opportunity to assert your claim, next time you come, Christina might really be pursued by another guy."
Virginia exaggerated, afraid that Bernard wouldn't believe her.
Bernard didn't respond. When he first saw Christina act, he had predicted that one day she would be loved by all the audience.

Christina was a bit happy. "Ruben, did you come to see me?"
Ruben made an exaggerated expression. "Of course!"
The smile on her face faded a bit. Bernard wasn't here to see her; he was here for Virginia.
But it didn't matter. "Ruben, why did you bring something? Wow! Drinks from that private restaurant on the south side! How did you know I love this?"
Compared to the forced polite smile earlier, Christina's smile now was more genuine.
She really didn't expect Ruben to bring her favorite drink.
Ruben looked a bit proud. "Since I came to see you, I had to know your preferences. Seeing how much you like this drink proves that my gift is well-received, right?"
Christina nodded vigorously. Most drinks on the market were mass-produced. They weren't bad, but Christina preferred those that took a lot of time to make by hand. Time was precious to them. This drink was hard to come by, making Ruben's gesture even more valuable.
Christina looked up and sincerely thanked Ruben. "I wasn't in a good mood today, but drinking the drink you brought made me feel much better. Ruben, thank you for the drink."
Christina's eyelashes fluttered, and with the school uniform she hadn't changed out of from the movie, she looked both innocent and delicate.
"I forgot to mention how great you were! I saw that clip online, and you really nailed the character. I can't wait to see the final product on the big screen!"
Christina shyly scratched her head. "Thanks! I'm glad you liked the character I played, but there's still so much depth and detail in this role that hasn't been revealed yet. I wish I could share more, but I can't."
Then she took a big sip of the drink.
Ruben nodded. "From the clip, I can tell that Valeria and Anson have definitely met before. Otherwise, how would a foreigner in a strange city recognize where Valeria lives at first sight? Am I right?"
Christina loved discussing plots with others.
But Ruben was someone she couldn't spoil the plot to.
"When the movie is released, you'll uncover the mystery. I can't tell you too much now!"
"Really? I guess there will be some suspense. I can't wait to see this movie in theaters."
"When the movie is released, I'll give you a ticket!"
The two were deeply engaged in their conversation.
When Bernard got off Virginia's trailer, he saw this scene. Christina looked at Ruben with a relaxed and genuine expression, unlike her cold demeanor in front of him.
"Oh, Ruben! Are you here to see me like Bernard?"
Virginia rested her chin on her hand, her cheeks blushing, looking very happy.
Ruben shook his head decisively. "No, I'm here to see Christina."
He wasn't surprised to see Bernard, just greeted him lightly.
Bernard nodded indifferently.
His serious demeanor almost drove Virginia crazy with infatuation.
"Oh, I knew it. I was just joking. Of course, you're here to see Christina!"
She elongated her tone, her gaze darting between Christina and Ruben as if she had discovered a secret.
"It's really early, but since everyone is here, why don't we all go out for a meal?"
She warmly linked arms with Christina, her sweet voice echoing in Christina's ear, "Christina, what do you think? After a tiring day of filming, we can relax over a meal."
Christina silently tried to shake off her arm but failed.
She had no desire to sit at the same table as Virginia, whom she couldn't stand, and upset her stomach in the process.
Moreover, Ruben was just passing by and had his own things to do.
"I don't think that would work. Ruben has other plans!"
Christina just mentioned it casually, not expecting Bernard to chuckle, though his face was full of sarcasm.
