Chapter 808 Grandma's Painting

Nora didn't want to discuss Sophia with Linda any further. "Alright, Linda, let's drop it. Go play with Julian!"

Linda shrugged and glanced at George, who was playing with toys on the sofa. "Mom, Julian seems different this time."

Nora looked over at George, puzzled. "What do you mean? How is Julian different?"

Linda tilted her head, frustrated. "He used to be very withdrawn, didn't like to talk or smile. But today, he was a bit shy at first, but then he started talking a lot!"

Nora smiled reassuringly. "Kids are like that. Once they get comfortable, they open up. Don't overthink it."

Linda felt it wasn't that simple. "And, Mom, the older Julian gets, the more familiar he looks to me, like someone I've seen before."

Nora asked curiously, "Really? Who?"

Linda furrowed her brow in frustration. "I can't remember exactly where I've seen him, just that he looks familiar."

Nora patted Linda's head. "You've probably just seen someone similar on TV or in a movie! Stop worrying about it and go play with Julian. We'll have a family dinner together later!"

Linda absentmindedly agreed and went over to the sofa to find George.

What family dinner? Linda never felt like she, Nora, and Sophia were a family!

"Aunt Linda, can you help me with this?"

Seeing Linda come over, George held up his Machine Man toy and asked her how to attach the arm. He had been struggling with it for a while.

Linda snapped out of her thoughts, looked at the toy George handed her, and helped him attach it.

It was actually quite easy; George was just too small and didn't have the strength to snap the part into place.

George was thrilled with the assembled Machine Man!

Linda found it boring and stretched. "You play here by yourself. I need to do my homework!"

George was stunned, looking up from his Machine Man at Linda, blinking. "Aunt Linda, you have homework too?"

Linda replied, "Of course I have homework. I'm in school, and the teacher gave us a lot of assignments!"

George looked at her sympathetically, holding his Machine Man toy and wanting to follow her. "Then I'll keep you company while you do your homework!"

Linda frowned. "You can come in, but you can't disturb me!"

George nodded earnestly. "Okay!"

Then, the two kids went into Linda's room together.

Linda took her homework out of her backpack and put it on the table, accidentally dropping a few drawings on the floor.

She was about to bend down to pick them up when George had already picked them up for her!

George saw the beautiful scenery in the drawings and exclaimed, "Aunt Linda, did you draw this?"

Linda nodded, taking the drawings and putting them away. "Yes! It's my art homework!"

George asked curiously, "Is the place in the drawing from your imagination, or does it really exist?"

Linda replied, "It's a real place. My art teacher took me to the scenic spot to draw it. I'm telling you, the real scenery is even more beautiful than the drawing!"

George was a bit envious. He had never traveled far.

Katherine never took them far away, fearing it was dangerous, saying they had to wait until they were older.

He, Charles, and Edith had never seen mountains or rivers.

"The drawing is already so beautiful. How much more beautiful must the real place be? I wish I could see it with my own eyes!"

Linda looked at George's longing expression and thought about how Sophia's strict discipline almost never allowed Julian to go out.

Linda felt sorry for Julian, who had been separated from her biological mother at birth without knowing it and had been kept under Sophia's strict control since childhood!

"I'm not very good at drawing. My teacher's drawings are more realistic. Wait, I'll show you!"

Linda, still a child herself, couldn't take Julian to see those places, so she could only do what she could for George now.

She found her portfolio and carefully took out a drawing to show George.

"Look, this is my art teacher's drawing. It's much more realistic than mine!"

"Wow!" George exclaimed, his mouth wide open, truly amazed by the scenery in the drawing.

So there were such beautiful places in the world!

He decided that one day he would take Katherine, Charles, and Edith to see the beautiful scenery in the drawing.

As he thought about this, George suddenly noticed the signature on the drawing.

Lotus?

George's eyes lit up. "Is your art teacher Lotus?"

Linda was a bit surprised. "Yes! Pretty impressive that you can read at such a young age!"

George could read, but he wasn't trying to show off. His family had many of Lotus's paintings, which Katherine treasured like precious gems!

Katherine had told him those paintings were by his grandmother Lotus, Katherine's mother.

He had seen Lotus's signature many times, so it left a deep impression, and it matched the signature on this drawing exactly!

Could Linda's art teacher be his grandmother?

"Aunt Linda, can I have this drawing?" George asked sincerely, his big eyes shining.

Linda, feeling sorry for Julian's situation, agreed without thinking. "If you like it, you can have it! But you have to cherish it and frame it! My teacher's drawings are very expensive!"

Lotus's drawings were expensive, but Lotus didn't care about money. She often gave some sketches to her students.

Linda had many of Lotus's drawings, so giving one to George wasn't a big deal.

Hearing Linda agree to give him the drawing, George was thrilled. "Great! My mommy loves Lotus's drawings. She'll be super happy to see this!"

Linda's face darkened. "What did you say? You want this drawing to give to your mommy?"

George nodded. "Yes, she loves Lotus's drawings!"

"Then I can't give it to you!" Linda suddenly changed her mind, taking the drawing back and putting it back in her portfolio.
