Chapter 207 Can't Messed With Them

Katherine sat downstairs, waiting for Alex. Feeling bored, she took out her phone and played a few mobile games to pass the time.

A quarter of an hour passed.

Alex's voice rang out. "Alright, let's go."

She looked up, slightly stunned.

Alex had changed into casual clothes, different from his usual suit and tie. His freshly washed hair wasn't combed into the usual meticulous style, and the short strands hung naturally, softening his stern and resolute features.

"Have you seen enough?" He strode over to her and flicked her forehead.

Katherine snapped out of it, rubbed her flicked forehead a bit painfully and pouted, "Can't I even look at you?"

He raised an eyebrow and said, "You like looking at me that much? Then why do you make me sleep in the study every day? How about you let me sleep in the bedroom tonight so you can look all you want?"

Katherine blushed, stood up, and said seriously, "I just think you look quite young like this. Don't get any wrong ideas, okay?"

Alex pretended to frown in displeasure. "Do I usually look old?"

Katherine nodded without hesitation. "Why else do you think I call you 'uncle'?"

Alex's gaze darkened as he leaned in close and lifted her chin. "Now that you think I don't look old, shouldn't you call me something else?"

Katherine thought for a moment. "Bro, I'm hungry. Let's go!"

Bro!

Alex was silent.

Any girl with a bit of a romance wouldn't call out "bro" at a time like this!

Alex pinched his brow and helplessly following the already walking-away Katherine.

He didn't call for a driver. Instead, he drove a sports car and took Katherine to a mountain-view villa in the suburbs.

Katherine got out of the car, looked around at the serene environment, and thought the house was quite nice. She also smelled the aroma of barbecue wafting from the villa, making her even hungrier.

Before she could ask whose house this was, Alex, who had parked the car, took her hand and led her inside.

The villa's yard was also tastefully landscaped, and she could tell at a glance that the owner had good taste.

Upon entering the yard, they saw Hilton, whom they hadn't seen in a while, standing by the grill, rolling up his shirt sleeves to brush honey on the chicken wings. Hearing footsteps, he looked up and smiled. "Yo, Alex brought his lady!"

Katherine looked at Hilton and then through the villa's floor-to-ceiling windows into the lively living room, which was filled with people.

Walking up to the grill, she keenly asked, "Is today a special day?"

Hilton raised a handsome eyebrow. "Today is my 30th birthday, so I invited everyone over for a simple celebration."

Katherine nodded. "Well then, happy birthday!"

"Thanks!" Hilton smiled, then deliberately extended a hand to her. "A word is not enough. Where's the gift?"

Katherine didn't respond.

How was she supposed to know it was someone's birthday here?

Feeling awkward, Katherine frowned and quietly complained to Alex, "It's all your fault! You didn't tell me we were coming to a birthday party. It's so rude to come empty-handed!"

Alex was indifferent. He took a skewer of barbecue from the grill, checked if it was cooked, and handed it to her. "You didn't give me a gift on my birthday. Do you think I'd let you give one to someone else first?"

Katherine took the skewer and started playing dumb.

Although Alex looked mature, he could be quite childish sometimes, always fussing over such trivial matters!

Indeed, not long ago, on Alex's birthday, some misunderstandings occurred because Scarlett suddenly returned, so she didn't give him a gift.

But that day, Teresa had actually pulled her along to go shopping for a gift. Although it wasn't her idea, she did buy one. However, when she later saw him hugging Scarlett at Moonlight Manor, she threw it away in anger!

Alex tossed the car keys to Hilton. "Here, your gift!"

Hilton caught them, stunned and overjoyed. "Alex, are you serious? You'regiving me this car?"

Alex questioned, "You don't want it?"

Hilton quickly pocketed the keys. "Of course, I want it! You're such a good friend! I'll gladly accept it!"

Seeing this, Katherine pulled Alex aside and complained, "Alex, giving Hilton a second-hand car for his birthday, don't you think that's a bit cheap? Is that how you treat friends?"

Alex smirked, patted her head, and explained, "He lacks nothing, and that car is a limited edition, the only one in the world. He couldn't buy it even with money. Hilton's been wanting it for a long time, and today, I'm only parting with it for your sake."

Katherine was silent.

Alex was quite the smooth talker, making it sound like he was giving the gift because of her!

But that sports car was indeed a one-of-a-kind limited edition, hard to come by even with money. Alex usually traveled by business car and rarely drove that car, so it was practically new.

Moreover, it was something Hilton had always wanted, so even though it was a second-hand car, Alex's gift wasn't inappropriate!

"But you gave away the car; how are we going to get home tonight?" Katherine asked another crucial question.

Alex calmly said, "You can take me on the subway."

Katherine almost rolled her eyes. "Come on, do you have any common sense? This is the suburbs. It would take at least two hours to get back to the city center by subway, with multiple transfers! And what if we miss the last train?"

Alex looked at Katherine speechlessly.

She said he had no common sense again!

Hilton, while grilling chicken wings, listened to their conversation with interest. He was first shocked that the pampered Alex would consider taking the subway, and then found Katherine's bold complaints about Alex very amusing.

He couldn't help but tease them. "What are you afraid of? If you miss the last train, you can stay here for the night. I have a guest room with a brand-new, comfortable bed, perfect for you two to enjoy!"

Katherine blushed, glaring at Hilton. "You can keep it for yourself!"

Alex also glared at him. "Don't talk too much!"

Hilton shrank back; he couldn't afford to mess with this couple!

Suddenly someone shouted, "Alex! Come up and have a drink!"

Looking up, they saw someone waving from the terrace on the second floor of the villa.

Katherine could also see Jonathan and Issac sitting on the outdoor sofa on the terrace, along with Bernard and Scarlett, all looking down at them.

Katherine raised an eyebrow. "Alex, your friends are calling you!"
