Chapter 585 Hand Over the Person

The bodyguards, realizing the phone was a big deal, bolted after the thief, leaving one dude behind to watch over Katherine and keep her safe.

Charles started bawling out of fear, and Fiona was all over the place. "Katherine, you good?"

Katherine shook her head. "I'm cool. Go check on Sandra. She's probably freaking out! Go calm her down!"

"Got it!" Fiona scooped up Charles and rushed over to Sandra.

As Fiona and Charles walked off, Katherine turned to the bodyguard next to her. "Help me over to the fountain. I need to sit for a sec."

"Sure thing, Mrs. Melville. Watch your step." The bodyguard carefully helped Katherine to the fountain. "This spot good for you, Mrs. Melville?"

"Yeah." Katherine nodded, about to sit down, then suddenly shoved the bodyguard into the fountain.

When the bodyguard climbed out, he saw Katherine had already taken off. He yelled, "Mrs. Melville's on the run!"

The nearby bodyguards jumped out of their cars and chased after her, but then a bunch of girls dressed like Katherine popped up in the crowd!

Total chaos! The bodyguards couldn't tell who was who, so they split up and chased anyone who looked suspicious.

The lead bodyguard spotted Katherine getting into a black business car and rallied his guys to block it. The car, trying to drive off, had to stop.

The driver honked, rolled down the window, and stuck his head out. "What's your problem?"

The lead bodyguard stepped up, all serious. "Get Mrs. Melville out of the car."

The driver looked pissed. "Mrs. Melville? Who the heck is that? She ain't in here!"

The lead bodyguard insisted, "I saw her get in your car. If you don't let her out, you're gonna have a problem!"

The driver was fuming. "A problem? You stop my car and now you wanna start something?"

Just then, the rear window rolled down, and Frank's smirking face appeared. "You guys looking for trouble? I'd love to see you try."

The lead bodyguard recognized Frank and toned it down a bit. "Mr. Perez, we know you're tight with Mrs. Melville, but you can't just take her like this! Get her out of the car!"

Frank raised an eyebrow and grinned. "Mrs. Melville? Haven't seen her. If I did, I'd say hi."

"Mr. Perez, we saw her get in your car."

"You must be seeing things. She's not in here."

The bodyguard wasn't buying it and frowned. "If that's how you wanna play it, then let us check your car. We'll see for ourselves."

Frank sneered. "You wanna check my car? Who do you think you are?"

The bodyguard stood his ground. "Look, we get this might tick you off, but if you don't let Mrs. Melville out and don't let us check the car, you're not going anywhere."

Frank squinted. "Alright, if I let you check and you don't find Mrs. Melville, then what?"

The lead bodyguard, sure as hell Katherine was in there, shot back, "If she's not in your car, we'll apologize right here, right now."

"Fine!" Frank snorted. "Go ahead, knock yourselves out."

With Frank's go-ahead, the lead bodyguard and his crew opened all four doors and checked inside. They found a woman dressed just like Mrs. Melville sitting next to Frank.

The lead bodyguard was stunned for a sec before recognizing Ambrosia, who had been at the Melville Manor with Frank yesterday, but there was no sign of Katherine.

'How the hell is Ms. Hawthorne wearing the same outfit as Katherine? Something's fishy,' the lead bodyguard thought. "Mr. Perez, have your driver pop the trunk."

Frank just nodded, and the driver opened the trunk.

The bodyguards checked it out, finding only a set of golf clubs and nothing else.

Frank's voice dripped with impatience. "Done snooping? No Mrs. Melville, right?"

The lead bodyguard walked over to Frank, frowning. "Mr. Perez, hand over Mrs. Melville!"

Frank laughed. "You Melville folks are a riot! You stop my car, think Mrs. Melville's in it, I let you check, and you find nothing. Now you still want her?"

The lead bodyguard glanced at Ambrosia next to Frank. "How come Ms. Hawthorne's here, wearing the same outfit as Mrs. Melville? This can't be a coincidence, right?"

Frank acted all puzzled, looked at Ambrosia's outfit, and laughed again. "Maybe they just have similar tastes. They bought the same outfit. What's so weird about that?"

The lead bodyguard kept a stern face. "Then why are you and Ms. Hawthorne here?"

Frank looked like he just heard the dumbest question ever. "This is Arborwood Grove, a public place. Can't we be here?"

A chill settled over Frank's face as he saw their silence. "I've been nice enough letting you check the car! If you don't let us go now, I'll call the cops on you!"

The lead bodyguard hesitated, then reluctantly signaled his men to step aside.

Frank closed the car door and told the driver to hit the gas.
