Chapter 786 It's Time for an Answer
Sophia maintained a fake smile, "But you never used to refuse my hugs. It feels like you've changed, like you're not the same Julian I used to know!"
George only felt guilty towards the people he liked. As for Sophia, he didn't feel guilty at all, just very annoyed!
Sophia clearly noticed something was wrong with him but still pretended to be so kind and friendly. It was really hypocritical!
George wasn't flustered at all and said arrogantly, "I've grown up now. I don't like being hugged by women anymore. What's so strange about that?"
Sophia moved closer to George, her eyes narrowing with displeasure. "Are you really my Julian? You know, lying has consequences!"
George already disliked Sophia, and seeing her like this made him think she was even more unpleasant!
"You gave birth to me, can't you tell if I'm your child? Unless you didn't give birth to me!"
George's words left Sophia speechless.
"Are you going to call the hotel for food or not? If not, I'm going to find Dad!" George urged impatiently.
Sophia snapped out of it and put away her displeased look, "I'll call now, don't rush!"
George said, "Hurry up, I'm very hungry!"
Sophia took a deep breath, holding back her dissatisfaction.
She judged that George probably found it fun here—no need to go to kindergarten, lots of toys to play with—so he wanted to stay.
George himself likely didn't know his true relationship with Trevor and probably hadn't revealed anything to Trevor either. Afraid of being discovered, he would be sent back.
Forget it, she wouldn't argue with this troublesome kid for now. After all, what could she expect from a child raised by Katherine?
A few days later.
Katherine was busy working at the Melville Group when Bernard suddenly came to see her.
However, he didn't come up; he just called her from his car downstairs.
"Katherine, I'm at the entrance of the Melville Group. Come down, I need to discuss something with you."
Usually, when Bernard's tone was this concise and serious, it meant there was really something important.
Katherine put aside the unfinished documents and got up to go out.
Downstairs, Billy got out of the car and respectfully opened the door for her. Katherine nodded and thanked him before getting into the car.
Bernard was sitting in the car with his eyes closed. He only slowly opened his eyes and turned to look at Katherine when he heard her get in.
"Did I interrupt your work?"
Katherine shrugged, "Well, whether you did or not, it's too late now. Mr. Mitchell, just get to the point. What's up?"
Bernard's eyes were somewhat complex and deep, "Do you remember the painting I sent you last time?"
Katherine's eyes lit up, and she immediately nodded, "Of course I remember! You said it might have been painted by Lotus recently, the paint was still wet when you got it!"
"My friend called me today and said her art teacher is back," Bernard said in a deep voice.
Katherine's pupils trembled, "Does that mean we can meet Lotus?"
Bernard nodded, "That's right. I asked my friend to arrange a time, and I'm planning to fly to Markovia to meet her. I'm here to ask if you want to come with me."
Katherine nodded without hesitation, "Yes!"
After speaking, she seemed to remember something and hesitated.
Bernard noticed Katherine's concern and gently placed his hand on her head, "Are you worried about the kids at home?"
Katherine sighed and nodded honestly, "It's inconvenient to bring all three of them, but I can't leave them behind. And now..."
She trailed off, but Bernard knew why.
Because the man who had been missing for three years, Alex, had reappeared. She was afraid that if she left, she would miss Alex again and never find him.
"If you're worried, then don't go. I'll go check it out first. Maybe it's not our mother."
Bernard gently patted Katherine's head.
Katherine looked up at Bernard. She undoubtedly wanted to go, no matter the outcome, she wanted to meet that art teacher.
"Can we arrange for the art teacher to come here? I'll cover her travel expenses."
Bernard shook his head, "My friend said her art teacher wouldn't agree to go abroad or meet strangers. If we want to meet, we can't tell the teacher in advance, or she won't come."
Katherine frowned.
Bernard understood Katherine's feelings, "Alright, if it's so difficult to decide, then don't go. I'll go first and take a picture of the teacher for you, no matter the result, okay?"
Katherine thought for a while, "Let me think about it. When are you planning to leave for Markovia?"
Bernard said, "Tomorrow morning."
Katherine said, "I'll think about it and give you an answer before midnight."
Bernard nodded, "Okay."
Katherine said sincerely, "Mr. Mitchell, thank you for coming to tell me this as soon as possible."
Bernard smiled wryly, "We're siblings. This concerns our mother, of course, I had to tell you first. Katherine, when will you stop being so formal and treat me like your brother?"
Katherine was too overwhelmed to think about reconciling with Bernard.
"I still have some work to finish, Mr. Mitchell. You should get back to it as well. I'll call you tonight once I've made up my mind."
Bernard sighed, "Alright, go ahead. I'll wait for your call."
Katherine got out of the car and thoughtfully returned to the Melville Group building.
Billy closed the car door and watched Katherine safely enter the building before getting back in the car.
"Mr. Mitchell, do you think Ms. Galatea will go to Markovia with you?"
Bernard shook his head, "No."
Billy nodded. He thought so too.
Katherine had too many concerns. She wouldn't feel comfortable leaving her three kids behind to go abroad.
As a mother, Katherine had many things to consider, unlike the single Bernard.
"Mr. Mitchell, your friend implied that the art teacher is reclusive and might not agree to meet you. Are you sure you want to leave tomorrow morning?"
Bernard said, "Whether she agrees to meet me or not, I have to find out the truth this time. After all these years, I need to know if she's really my mother!"
