Chapter 1002 Audition
Noticing her hesitation, Christina decided to use a bit of reverse psychology. "To be honest, our crew isn't very large, but the investment is quite substantial. If you are not interested, I can reach out to other actors first."
After saying that, Christina was about to hang up the phone.
Seeing this, Cheryl quickly called out to stop her, "Wait! Wait, that's not what I meant! It's just that I haven't seen your script yet, so I don't know if the role suits me!"
"Ms. Russell, if you're interested, you can come by and audition for the role whenever you have time. We all think that you would be a perfect fit for this character."
After being rejected by numerous crews, Cheryl was very happy to hear someone praise her. Finally, someone recognized her talent. "Well, in that case, I'll give it a try!"
"I'll send the audition location and time to you. Ms. Russell, see you then." After saying that, Christina hung up the phone.
Afterward, Christina went to the study, did some mental preparation at the door, and knocked on the door.
"Come in."
With permission, Christina pushed the door open and walked in. Bernard was sitting in front of the computer handling work matters. She cautiously asked, "Am I disturbing you?"
"Have a seat first." Bernard didn't stop his work, pointing to the chair in front of him for Christina to sit down, "Give me ten minutes."
Christina nodded and sat quietly in front of him.
Bernard, focused on his work, looked completely different from his usual cold demeanor. This side of him seemed particularly reliable and mature, making people feel at ease.
"Go ahead, what's the matter?" About ten minutes later, Bernard finished his work, closed the computer, and looked at Christina.
Christina, who was lost in thought, suddenly snapped back to reality, "Well, I want to ask you for a favor."
"What do you need my help with this time?" Bernard leaned back in his chair, tiredly rubbing his forehead, "I've told Billy that you can go directly to him for some matters."
Seeing his actions, Christina's eyes showed some concern, "Is your head bothering you?"
"No, tell me what you need help with."
Christina didn't press further about his condition and stated her purpose for coming today, "Billy found out that the person who leaked the information is my half-sister. I want to teach her a lesson. I need to borrow a studio and find some extras. Can you help me with that?"
"A studio? What are you planning to do?" Bernard squinted his eyes and looked deeply at her.
Christina said, "I want to give her a taste of her own medicine."
This was the first time Bernard saw such an expression on her face, completely different from her usual obedient and sensible demeanor, with a hint of mischievous cunning.
Noticing him staring at her, Christina felt a bit shy, "Mr. Mitchell, why are you looking at me like that? Is there something dirty on my face?"
"Nothing." Bernard withdrew his gaze, "I can help you, but tell me, what exactly are you planning to do?"
Christina said, "My plan isn't perfect yet. I need to think it over before I can tell you."
Seeing her like this, Bernard decided not to interfere further and let her be.
"Go directly to Billy for these matters. He will fully assist you."
"Thank you, Mr. Mitchell. Once everything is settled, I'll treat you to a meal."
After saying that, Christina turned and left.
Bernard watched her leave the room, a deep meaning in his eyes.
Billy's efficiency was very high. He quickly prepared the studio and contacted some extras for Christina to choose from.
Following her prepared 'script,' Christina selected the most suitable extras. They rehearsed together once, and there were basically no issues.
When the scheduled audition time arrived, Cheryl got up early and dressed up meticulously.
This hard-earned audition opportunity was a role she was determined to get!
First impressions were very important. She wanted to present herself in the best state to captivate the director with her beauty and acting skills!
After dressing up, Cheryl looked at herself in the mirror with great satisfaction, then headed downstairs in high heels.
"Cheryl, you look beautiful today!" Renee complimented her with a smile.
Hearing the compliment, Cheryl was even happier, "I'm going for an audition today, so of course, I have to dress beautifully."
"The audition will definitely go very smoothly." Renee smiled broadly, sending Cheryl out the door with flattery.
Once Cheryl was completely out of sight, Renee's smile disappeared.
Cheryl arrived at the agreed location, where Christina's arranged "Director's assistant", Chad Blair, was already waiting at the door.
"Are you Ms. Russell?"
"Yes, that's me." Cheryl proudly raised her chin and greeted Chad, "The casting director contacted me and asked me to come for an audition!"
"Follow me!" Chad, following the pre-rehearsed scenario, led Cheryl into the studio, "Ms. Russell, the 'Director' hasn't arrived yet. Please wait here for a while."
Looking at the particularly professional studio in front of her, Cheryl was secretly delighted. This crew was wealthier than she had imagined!
"Is this where we'll be filming in the future?"
"Yes, this is just part of the indoor scenes. Many of our scenes will be shot on location outside."
Chad answered while glancing into the distance, smiling as he walked over, "'Director' is here. Let's go over."
Cheryl quickly followed, but because she was wearing high heels, she couldn't walk fast. Anxious to walk faster, her walking posture became very awkward.
Standing in the shadows, Christina saw this scene and smirked.
Cheryl finally reached the "director," hurriedly tidying her hair, "Hello, Director. I'm Cheryl. I really hope to join your crew."
The "Director" looked Cheryl up and down, then nodded with satisfaction, "Indeed, your image fits our role very well. Chad, give Ms. Russell the script and take her to prepare for the audition scene."
Hearing the director's praise, Cheryl was secretly delighted again, smiling as she took the audition script from Chad.
Cheryl opened the script, quickly browsing through the character settings and plot. Her face immediately changed, "Wait, am I supposed to play this character named Delilah Greer?"
Chad leaned over and took a look, "Yes, Ms. Russell, the role you'll be auditioning for is Delilah."
