Upon hearing the news, Katherine felt slightly relieved and asked, "Then why did Sophia ask you to come here?"
Bernard's eyes revealed a whirlwind of emotions. He felt sorry for Katherine. How could he bear to tell her that the man she had waited for three years was now in the suite opposite, had forgotten her, and was living with Sophia and a child they had stolen from her?
"It's nothing. She didn't ask me to come here. I just happened to find out she was staying here and, out of suspicion, found an excuse to go in and see who she had returned to the country with," Bernard replied evasively.
Katherine's eyes darkened, and a hint of curiosity appeared in her eyes. "Did you see anyone else in her suite?"
Bernard shook his head. "Besides her, there was only a child wearing a cartoon mask. I didn't see anyone else."
In fact, Bernard hadn't run into Sophia. He had already returned to his own suite by the time Sophia came back.
At that time, Sunny was waiting for the elevator, so Sunny didn't see him come out.
Katherine frowned slightly, not doubting Bernard's words, but a trace of barely noticeable disappointment flashed in her clear eyes.
Then she pointed at Sunny by the door and said, "Sunny said you might have gone astray and called me over to save you."

Sunny pouted reluctantly. "Why? Bernard, I haven't had enough time to relax yet. Can I have a couple more days?"
Bernard said sternly, "If you're not at the office tomorrow morning, don't bother coming back!"
Sunny sighed. "Fine, I get it. I'll be there. Is that okay?"
Seeing that the troublemaker Sunny got the punishment he deserved, Katherine felt a sense of satisfaction. She thought she shouldn't have listened to Sunny and abandoned her work to come here and get involved in this mess.
Bernard ignored the troublemaking Sunny and turned back to Katherine, speaking gently, "Since you're here, how about I accompany you to pick up the kids and take them out for dinner?"
Katherine checked the time. There was still an hour before the kids finished school. She nodded. "Okay."
George, Edith, and Charles liked Bernard too. They would be happy to see him picking them up.
She couldn't finish her work if she rushed back to the office now. It would be better to go in early tomorrow and complete the remaining contract approvals.
Sunny raised his hand. "Can I come too? I haven't had a good look at George and Edith yet!"
Bernard and Katherine both gave him a disdainful look and ignored him.
Sunny scratched his head awkwardly. Although Bernard and Katherine both glared at him, he knew that since they didn't explicitly refuse to take him, he still had a chance to go along.
After chatting in the suite for a while, they felt it was about time. Driving from the hotel to the kindergarten would coincide with the end of the school day, so Bernard and Katherine got up to leave.

Katherine's eyes were red with anger, and she bit Bernard's hand hard!

Sunny, who hadn't seen the people opposite and didn't know what had happened, asked in surprise, "What's going on, Bernard?"
Bernard glared at Sunny with a warning look, signaling him to keep quiet.
Sunny felt a chill down his spine and shut his mouth.
Bernard released Katherine only after confirming that the people in the opposite suite had gone far and entered the elevator.
Katherine immediately opened the door and rushed out, but the hotel corridor was already empty.
Instinctively, she wanted to chase after them to the elevator, but Bernard grabbed her arm. "Katherine, calm down."
Katherine stopped, turned around, and glared at Bernard with disappointment and anger, shaking off his hand. "You knew he was opposite, that he was with Sophia? And you didn't tell me on purpose?"
Bernard's brow furrowed. "I didn't intend to hide it from you. I just wanted to wait for the right moment to tell you."
Katherine was so angry that she laughed coldly. "The right moment? You know I've been looking for him for three years. When exactly did you think that moment would come? Another three years?"
