Chapter 802 There Is No "If"
Trevor thought to himself that he wasn't being seduced away; he just couldn't remember the past.
Katherine was really about to leave. Just as she put her hand back on the doorknob, something happened outside!
Sophia entered the room and asked, "Julian, why are you standing at the bathroom door? Where's Dad?"
George's voice sounded a bit unnatural, "He's taking a shower!"
Sophia lectured George, "Why are you standing at the door while he is showering? Why don't you go in and help him? You know he has trouble with his legs!"
George blinked and said, "Dad said he didn't need my help and told me to come out! I'm standing here in case he needs me, so I can go in quickly!"
Sophia found it a bit odd but didn't pay further attention to George. She walked to the bathroom and knocked on the door, "Trevor, are you showering?"
Inside the bathroom, Katherine had already quietly hidden behind the door. If Sophia suddenly opened the door, she wouldn't see her immediately.
The bathroom door wasn't locked. Locking it now would only make Sophia suspicious, so they had to gamble that Sophia wouldn't open the door.
There were no windows in the bathroom either, so Katherine couldn't escape through one.
Trevor and Katherine exchanged glances. Trevor answered Sophia in an unusually calm voice, "Yes, what's up?"
Sophia stood outside the door and said, "It's nothing important. I bought you a new set of pajamas a few days ago and forgot to give them to you. I just found them in the closet and brought them over. You can wear them after your shower!"
Trevor said, "Thanks, just leave them on the bed. I'll change into them after my shower."
Sophia turned the doorknob, "Trevor, let me bring them in for you so you can put them on right after your shower!"
Trevor immediately said in a deep voice, "I'm showering, don't come in!"
Sophia's hand paused on the doorknob, "Trevor, we're married. I'm just bringing you some clothes."
Trevor said, "I like to be alone when I shower. Do you really have to disturb me now?"
She was just bringing him clothes; was that really a disturbance? Sophia felt a bit annoyed but didn't take further action.
George crossed his arms and said to Sophia, "Dad said not to go in, so don't disturb him while he's showering, or you'll make him unhappy!"
Sophia looked down at the child she disliked and remembered how Trevor had scolded him for her earlier. She thought it over and decided not to upset Trevor and ruin the progress they had made.
So, she removed her hand from the doorknob, "Alright, Trevor. I'll leave the new pajamas on your bed. Remember to change into them after your shower."
Trevor replied, "Okay."
Sophia turned and placed the pajamas on the bed, then gave the bathroom one last look before leaving.
Seeing Sophia leave, George finally breathed a sigh of relief. That was close!
Katherine was almost discovered!
In the bathroom, both Katherine and Trevor also breathed a sigh of relief. That was a close call.
Katherine glanced at Trevor, "She treats you well, even buys you pajamas!"
Trevor looked at her wistfully, "If you don't like it, I won't wear it."
Katherine didn't like it, but she wasn't unreasonable, "Forget it, wear it! Not wearing it would make her suspicious. I'm leaving!"
This time, Katherine really did leave.
After exiting the bathroom, she bent down to kiss George and then left through the balcony.
Trevor maneuvered his wheelchair slowly out of the bathroom, looking thoughtfully in the direction of the balcony, then glanced at the new pajamas on the bed.
George tilted his head, "Dad, Mom seemed a bit unhappy when she left, didn't she?"
Trevor could tell that Katherine had left feeling emotional, but he couldn't go after her now.
Sighing softly, Trevor asked George, "What does your mom usually do?"
George thought for a moment, "Well, she usually works, takes care of us, and looks for Dad."
Trevor's eyes deepened, "She's always looking for your dad?"
George nodded, "Yes! Mom has been looking for Dad's whereabouts, but there's never any news!"
Trevor squinted, feeling a mix of emotions.
George suddenly leaned in, his curious eyes full of anticipation, "Dad, do you like my mom?"
Trevor looked at George, "Why do you ask?"
George proudly lifted his little face, "Because a lot of people seem to like my mom when they meet her!"
Trevor's eyes darkened, "A lot of people? Does your mom often meet a lot of men?"
George said, "Well, Mom works a lot, so she meets lots of people!"
Trevor asked with a furrowed brow, "Really? How do those men express their feelings for your mom? How do you know?"
George answered honestly, "They call and message her, but Mom only talks about work and ignores the rest."
Trevor felt a tightness in his chest, gripping the wheelchair's armrests, more eager than ever to stand up.

Frank parked the car by the roadside. Jonathan smiled as he got out, thanked him, and went inside.
The passenger window slowly rolled down. Teresa watched Jonathan's back, her expression suddenly worried, "If it weren't for Alex, I think Katherine and Jonathan would be quite happy together."
"Unfortunately, there's no 'if'." Frank smiled faintly, "Katherine could never love another man again."
Teresa turned to look at him, "I think so too, which is why I feel even more sorry for Katherine! Alex is probably gone for good, and Katherine is waiting for him with three kids. When will this end?"
Frank raised an eyebrow, "If you truly love someone to the core, even waiting can be a kind of happiness."
Teresa didn't agree, "Waiting with an end in sight is happiness. Endless waiting is definitely not! No one would think waiting for someone whose fate is unknown is happiness!"
Frank reached over, his long fingers brushing her cheek, "Always worrying about Katherine, huh? How about sparing some concern for your boyfriend here?"
Teresa blushed and looked a bit confused. "What do you mean? You're right here, what do you need me to worry about?"
Frank took her hand and placed it on his chest, "Care about my feelings. I'm feeling very nervous right now."
