Chapter 343 Katherine Is just Playing Hard to Get!
Fiona fumed. "Yeah! I saw Leander bringing in a suitcase, probably Katherine's! Ugh, she's so shameless. She left, and now she's back to mess with Alex and ruin your relationship! I bet she was playing hard to get with him all along!"
On the other end, Scarlett's face was dark, gripping her phone tightly and gritting her teeth.
She thought she could get rid of Katherine today and be worry-free. But Alex showed up, carrying Katherine out of the operation room!
And now, they were back together. Damn it!
Scarlett was furious. All her careful plans were ruined!
After a long silence, Fiona found it odd. "Scarlett, why aren't you saying anything? Aren't you worried Alex brought Katherine back?"
Worried? She was dying of worry! Scarlett snapped back, faking calmness. "Fiona, Jack and Sandra Melville are coming back soon, right? Alex probably brought Katherine back to explain to them. I haven't been accepted by them yet, so I get why Alex did it."
Fiona, being naive, didn't see through Scarlett's act.
"Scarlett, you're too nice! If a woman got close to my boyfriend like that, I'd have taught her a lesson long ago!"
Out of sight, Scarlett's eyes showed her true, ruthless nature. Yes, Katherine needed a lesson for not taking the easy way out!
"Fiona, thanks for worrying about me and Alex! I trust him, but can you keep an eye on him? Don't let him..."
Scarlett trailed off, letting Fiona fill in the blanks.
Fiona thought Scarlett was finally wising up and promised confidently, "Scarlett, don't worry! I'll watch Alex and make sure Katherine doesn't get close to him! If anything happens, I'll tell you right away!"
"Okay, thanks, Fiona!"
"No problem! I gotta go now, Scarlett. I'm going to see what they're up to and keep an eye on them!"
Fiona hung up quickly.
Scarlett dropped her fake smile, grinding her teeth in anger, wishing she could tear Katherine apart!
Just then, someone knocked on her door.
Scarlett snapped back, adjusting her sweet voice. "Who is it?"
"Scarlett, it's me."
Sophie's voice came from outside.
Scarlett said, "Oh, Sophie! Come in!"
Sophie walked in, noticing Scarlett seemed off. She asked, "Scarlett, what's wrong? You look upset. Are you okay?"
Scarlett shook her head, forcing a smile. "I'm fine, just tired! Sophie, why are you here? Need something?"
Sophie's eyes flickered. "No, nothing! Just wanted to check if your ankle is better."
"I'm much better now. I can walk normally, but I still can't do any strenuous activities," Scarlett explained.
"That's good!"
Scarlett eyed Sophie with a hint of disdain. She knew Sophie had a crush on Bernard and always found excuses to come over just to be near him.
Staring at her 'best friend,' Scarlett suddenly had an idea.
She quickly crafted her lie and sighed, pretending to be worried. "Sophie, it's good you're here. There's something I need to tell you as a friend."
Sophie looked surprised. "What is it?"
Scarlett put on a sad face. "This morning, I went to the Hospital."
Sophie looked concerned. "Scarlett, are you okay? Why did you go to the hospital?"
Scarlett shook her head, holding Sophie's hand. "Don't worry about me. It wasn't for me; Bernard asked me to accompany a girl for an abortion."
Sophie's eyes widened. "An abortion? Why would Bernard want a girl to have an abortion? Who is she?"
Scarlett sighed dramatically. "It's Katherine. She's pregnant."
Sophie shouted, "What? Katherine! But what does her pregency have to do with Bernard?"
"Sophie, don't you get it? If the child wasn't Bernard's, why would he care? You know Bernard; he never gets involved in things that don't concern him."
Sophie was furious. "How could this happen? Katherine is pregnant with Bernard's child?! No! I don't believe it! Bernard would never be with her!"
Scarlett looked heartbroken. "Sophie, calm down and let me finish.
Katherine recently started working at Bernard's company and then got close to my grandparents. Her intentions are obvious.
About a month ago, she drugged Bernard and spent the night with him. He was in a daze, and that's how it happened.
But who would have thought she'd get pregnant?
Thankfully, Bernard doesn't want the child and hasn't been manipulated by her!

Scarlett frowned. "But Katherine didn't go through with it today. She changed her mind and ran away."
