Chapter 971 You Go In First

Jared didn't love her; he married her just to have a wife who could take good care of the family.

And there were many people like that, not just Renee!

Because of this, Renee had always been anxious, afraid that one day Jared would abandon her.

She chose to wrong Christina to solidify her position as Jared's wife.

"What do you want me to do?" Christina knew Renee wouldn't call her for no reason; there must be a purpose behind this call.

Renee sighed, "Can you accompany Cheryl to meet Hudson? Just to meet and explain, that's all. Once this is resolved, I promise I won't bother you again."

Sure enough, Renee called about this.

"Okay, but this is the last time." Christina hung up the phone.

She knew Renee might be acting, but she still chose to help Renee one more time.

This was the last time Christina, as Renee's daughter, would help her. After this, Christina would never help her again.

In the evening, Cheryl sent her the time and place, which was the next day.

It seemed this matter had a significant impact on her; she couldn't wait any longer.

Christina didn't reply to the message. She went to deliver milk to Hellen and Vincent, and when she came out, she ran into Bernard, who was about to return to his room.

"I just delivered milk to Grandpa and Grandma," she said.

Bernard nodded and opened the door to his room. Christina followed him inside.

In the same room, Christina felt a bit uneasy, "I just took a shower, so I'll sleep on the sofa."

"Sleep on the bed," Bernard called out to her, lying down on the bed himself, "It's not like we haven't slept together before."

Christina remembered that night and couldn't help but feel embarrassed, "No, it's fine, really..."

"Grandma might come to check on us at night. Don't worry, I have no intention of touching you," Bernard said, closing his eyes.

Christina had no choice but to bite her lip and tiptoe to the bed.

Keeping a distance between them, Christina closed her eyes and slept on the edge, not touching Bernard.

She wasn't used to sharing a bed with someone else. Last time, she was drunk, but this time she was sober. She was tense all night and didn't sleep well.

The next morning, she felt sore all over and was in poor spirits.

After washing up and changing clothes, she went downstairs. The two elders were having breakfast in the dining room. She greeted them politely, "Good morning, Grandpa, Grandma."

Christina sat down and had breakfast with the elders, "Did Bernard go to work?"

"Bernard went to work. He saw you sleeping soundly and didn't let us wake you." Hellen smiled and had the maid pour her some milk, "Christina, did you sleep well last night?"

Christina looked up with a smile, meeting Hellen's meaningful gaze. She realized Hellen might have thought of something else.

She blushed and lowered her head to eat breakfast, "Pretty well, Grandma."

"That's good." Hellen laughed heartily.

After breakfast, Christina checked the time, "Grandpa, Grandma, I have to accompany my sister to meet a friend today, so I need to go out."

Hellen was concerned, "Do you need me to arrange someone to go with you?"

Christina shook her head with a smile, "No need, Grandma, it's fine. I'll just go find her by myself."

Hellen didn't insist and arranged a car for her.

Sitting in the car, Christina felt a bit complicated. She hadn't faced the Russell family for a while and didn't know what it would be like to see them again.

At the agreed location, Christina got out of the car but didn't see the Russell family at the club entrance.

She called Renee, "Mom, I'm here. Where are you?"

"Christina, we're stuck in traffic. It might take a while! The time is already up, so you go in first." Renee sounded anxious.

Christina looked at the club entrance and shook her head, "Mom, I've never been to a place like this. I'll wait for you outside. I don't know Hudson, and it wouldn't be appropriate to go in alone. I wouldn't know what to say."

"Christina, the agreed time is already up. If none of us go in, it would be very rude and make Hudson think we broke our promise. Christina, you said you would help me one more time, right? So please, help me see this through, okay?"

Christina took a deep breath to calm herself, "Okay, Mom, this is the last time."

Hanging up the phone, Christina looked at the upscale club, feeling uneasy.

For some reason, she felt something was off about this situation, making her anxious.

She decided to muster the courage to go in. This was the last time. After this, she would have nothing to do with the Russell family!

Entering the club, Christina found the private room number Renee had sent her and knocked before going in.

Inside the private room sat a very fat middle-aged man. This was Hudson, the man Cheryl had offended, the same man Cheryl had almost set her up with last time.

"Hello, I'm Cheryl's sister, Christina." Christina stood at the door, cautious but very polite.

Hudson had a lecherous smile on his face. He stood up and walked over to Christina, looking her up and down with an impressed expression, "So you're Cheryl's sister, huh? You're much prettier than her!"

Hudson's gaze moved from Christina's face to her body, stopping at her chest, "And you have a great figure too."

Christina had deliberately worn very loose clothing today, so she didn't know how Hudson could tell she had a good figure!

Feeling uncomfortable, Christina said, "Mr. Graves, my family should be here soon. I'll wait for them outside and come back in together."

As she finished speaking, Christina turned to leave.

Hudson couldn't bear to let Christina go and immediately blocked the door, "Hey, you're already here. Why leave? It's fine, your family will be here soon. Just sit down and have a few drinks with me."

Christina moved a step to the side, creating some distance between them, "Mr. Graves, I don't drink."

"Come on, sit down." Hudson returned to his seat with a smile, gesturing for Christina to sit down as well.

Christina knew it wouldn't be easy to leave today, so she chose the seat farthest from Hudson and sat down, "Mr. Graves, my parents told me that Cheryl did something to upset you. We're here to apologize. Whatever happened before, Cheryl didn't mean it. Please forgive her."
