Chapter 579 Didn't Move

Fiona felt totally wronged, but she wasn't about to start a fight with Sandra. She grabbed her knife and fork, ready to dig into her steak, but the fork slipped right out of her hand and hit the floor.

Already in a crappy mood, the fallen fork just made Fiona even more ticked off. She was about to bend down to grab it when Nathan, who'd been sitting quietly next to her, beat his to it and picked it up.

But the fork was all dirty from the floor, so it was a no-go. Nathan set it aside and handed her his clean one, "Here, use mine. I haven't touched it."

Nathan's gesture made Fiona feel a bit shy, but she took the fork and thanked him.

Without saying anything else to Fiona, Nathan stood up, politely said goodbye to Sandra, and walked out with his bag.

Seeing Nathan leave, Fiona felt lost and quickly got up to follow him.

She finally caught up with Nathan in the yard, blocking his way, and asked nervously, "Nathan, why are you leaving without eating? Are you mad? Do you think I was wrong back there?"

Nathan's face was super calm. "Your family drama isn't my business."

Even though Nathan said he wasn't mad, Fiona still felt he was a bit upset. Usually stubborn as a mule, she lowered her head and explained, "But Frank's a total jerk. I can't stand him bullying Teresa!"

Seeing Fiona apologize like that, Nathan couldn't just ignore her. "You don't need to explain to me. It's your family's mess, not mine. But Fiona, you really should think about toning down that blunt attitude of yours. If you keep shooting your mouth off, you're gonna land in a lot of trouble."

Fiona blinked, looking confused. "But I don't need to work at other companies. I can just stay in my family's business!"

Nathan was a bit taken aback and then gave a self-deprecating smile, "Yeah, with your family's money, you don't need to work a day in your life. I was overthinking."

After that, Nathan walked around Fiona and headed for the gate.

Feeling super uneasy, Fiona took a few steps forward and grabbed Nathan's shirt, "Nathan, you were right. I'll change! Please don't be mad."

Nathan felt a bit helpless. "I'm not mad. Let go of me!"

Fiona cautiously asked, "Will you still come to tutor me tomorrow?"

Nathan nodded, "I promised to help you with your studies, and I keep my promises."

Only then did Fiona breathe a sigh of relief and let go, "Then I'll walk you to the gate!"

She actually wanted the family driver to take Nathan home, but Nathan was all about being independent and had his principles. He'd get annoyed if her family car took him every time.

Seeing Fiona insist, Nathan didn't argue and let her walk him to the gate.

There was a row of bodyguards at the gate, all looking super serious, making anyone feel the pressure just by looking at them.

Nathan glanced at the bodyguards at the Melville Manor gate, frowned a bit, and asked, "Is Mr. Melville treating Katherine like a prisoner?"

Fiona looked at the bodyguards and sighed, "I have no clue what's up. It wasn't like this yesterday. After my brother and Katherine had a blowout last night, this is what it looks like this morning!"

Thinking of Alex, Nathan couldn't help but feel a bit ticked off, "I hope your family treats Katherine better. She's a good person!"

Fiona hesitated for a moment but finally blurted out, "Nathan, I've always wanted to ask you, do you like Katherine?"

Nathan paused for a moment, then just walked away without looking back or answering.

Meanwhile...

Teresa splashed cold water on her face in the restroom, looked up at herself in the mirror, and suddenly felt a wave of self-loathing.

'I must be really unlikable. I almost got married once, thinking I was the happiest woman alive, only to find my groom hooking up with another woman in the storage room right before the wedding. After getting caught, the groom got all mad and even threatened me with my nudes. It was Alex and Katherine who bailed me out. If it weren't for the guests' respect for Alex, I would've been a laughingstock! And now, I stupidly fall for Frank, ignoring Katherine's warnings, thinking I'm special and can make Frank settle down. But in the end, I'm just a fool again!' Teresa thought.

The bathroom door knocked a few times, snapping Teresa back to reality. Thinking someone needed to use the bathroom, she quickly wiped her face with a tissue and went to open the door.

When she opened the door, she saw Frank standing there, looking at her with a scrutinizing expression.

Teresa felt a bit embarrassed. "Mr. Perez, I'm done. You can use it now."

She instinctively lowered her head and quickly tried to walk out, giving him the bathroom.

But before she could take a step, Frank raised his arm and pulled her back into the bathroom!

The bathroom door was closed and locked.

Teresa, still in shock, was a bit stunned. "Mr. Perez?"

Frank's cool fingers gently brushed her eyes, "Have you been crying?"

Teresa's eyes dodged as she replied, "No, I just washed my face."

Frank, rarely showing a bit of an apologetic expression, said, "I'm sorry."

Teresa was stunned, not expecting Frank to apologize. It took her a while to react, and she said, "No, it's my own fault. I was a fool, ever since my last failed wedding!"

Frank's handsome brows furrowed. "Who said you were a fool?"

Teresa kept reminding herself not to overthink. "Mr. Perez, I know you don't like me, so it's okay to reject me politely. I don't blame you."

Frank stared at her for a while without speaking, then took out a few condoms from his pocket.

Teresa looked at the items in Frank's hand, feeling a bit awkward as she thought, 'I bought these for Frank last time! Why is he taking them out now?'
