Chapter 290 Be a Janitor?

When it was Teresa's turn, she walked into the HR interview room, greeted the three interviewers, introduced herself, and then sat down to await their questions.

The interviewers glanced at her impressive resume, exchanged surprised looks, and then the one in the middle asked, "Your last company was the Melville Group?"

Teresa nodded. "Yes!"

"Why did you leave such a good company like the Melville Group?"

Teresa smiled. "No particular reason. I just felt there was no future there and wanted to try something new and challenging."

Her response puzzled the interviewers. The Melville Group was known for being hard to get into and offering great benefits. How could someone think there was no future there?

After graduating from college, Teresa had been placed in a cushy position at the Melville Group by her uncle, Alex. The workload was light, the pay was high, and she could come in late or leave early without any trouble.

Everyone in the company knew she was the CEO's niece, so no one dared to criticize her work attitude or dock her pay.

She was telling the truth; she genuinely felt there was no future for her at the Melville Group!

Because of Alex, everyone in the company treated her with extra courtesy. Her direct supervisor didn't dare to assign her heavy tasks. Most of the time, she just organized, filed, and retrieved documents. The rest of the time, she was free to do as she pleased, and this lifestyle almost spoiled Teresa!

The middle interviewer asked her again, "So, Ms. Harris, what position are you applying for at the Crescent Group?"

"Any position will do as long as I can join your company!" Teresa replied absentmindedly, her eyes fixed on the people passing by outside the glass door, looking for anyone who might be Vice President Frank.

"Any position?"

They looked at her with less friendly eyes, feeling that this girl was treating the Crescent Group as a joke or a prank.

After exchanging glances, they concluded that Teresa wasn't serious about the job and had a very disrespectful attitude towards the Crescent Group.

One of the interviewers then rudely asked, "So, if it's a janitor position, would you take it?"

"Janitor?" Teresa raised her eyebrows, a bit surprised.

The interviewer sneered. "Yes, we urgently need a janitor. You can start immediately."

Teresa thought for a moment, and then her eyes lit up. "Sure, I'll take the janitor position!"

A janitor's job involved cleaning the company, which suited her purposes.

The three interviewers looked at this young woman in disbelief, wondering if she was serious.

One interviewer asked, "Ms. Teresa, are you sure you want to join the Crescent Group as a janitor responsible for cleaning the company's premises?"

Teresa looked determined. "Yes, I'm sure! I'm here to challenge myself with something I've never done before. Please give me a chance!"

Teresa's unusual job request left the three interviewers in awe.

"Alright, then you can start tomorrow!"

Teresa rolled up her sleeves. "No need to wait until tomorrow. I'll start today!"

The interviewers looked at her in confusion. "You're in such a hurry?"

She answered, "Yes, where do I go to complete the onboarding process? I can't wait to start cleaning the company!"

One of the interviewers smirked. "Just go out and turn left to complete the paperwork."

"Okay, thank you!" Teresa stood up, bowed in thanks, and eagerly went out to complete the onboarding process.

The three interviewers exchanged glances.

"This girl seems a bit suspicious."

"She's probably here for our Vice President."

"Maybe. Mr. Perez is always popular with the ladies."

"There have been many girls applying to get close to Mr. Perez, but she's the first one willing to take a janitor's job!"

Meanwhile, at the Mitchell Group, Katherine arrived punctually. She spent her morning crafting a quarterly sales strategy before personally delivering it to the CEO's office.

A new secretary, a young and refined girl, had been assigned to the CEO's office. She was idly scrolling through her phone.

Katherine walked over and naturally asked, "Is Mr. Mitchell in?"

The new secretary snapped out of her daze, quickly put down her phone, and stood up.

However, upon seeing that it was Katherine, the secretary's expression immediately soured. She sat back down, looking at her manicured nails with disdain. "It's you. What do you need with Mr. Mitchell?"

Katherine glanced at the young secretary indifferently. Although she didn't know this colleague, it was clear the secretary knew her and harbored some inexplicable hostility.

Katherine said, "I have a document that Mr. Mitchell needs to see."

The secretary tapped her desk. "Just leave the document here. I'll give it to Mr. Mitchell later."

Katherine didn't comply. "The data in the document needs to be explained to Mr. Mitchell in person. Please inform him for me."

The secretary rolled her eyes and reluctantly picked up the phone.

Once the call connected, the secretary's impatient attitude disappeared, replaced by a respectful and sweet tone. "Mr. Mitchell, Manager Galatea is here to see you with a document."

Bernard's voice came through the phone. "Let her in."

Hanging up the phone, the secretary, now annoyed, jerked her chin towards the door. "Go in."

Katherine smirked slightly, not taking the secretary's attitude to heart.

She knew this colleague wouldn't last long in this position.

Bernard was a demanding and meticulous person; he wouldn't tolerate such a work attitude from a secretary under his watch.

This was likely a temporary replacement, and she would soon disappear from the Mitchell Group.

Katherine pushed open the door and entered the CEO's office.

Today, Bernard wasn't the only one in the CEO's office; Sunny was also there.

Sunny was sitting near the desk, not far from his brother, working on a high school exam paper. He seemed to be struggling with a difficult question, scratching his head in frustration.

Katherine glanced at Sunny briefly, then looked respectfully and politely at her boss, Bernard, and handed over the document.

She reported, "Mr. Mitchell, based on the market research Mr. Mostow and I conducted yesterday, I've prepared a quarterly sales plan. Please review it and see if it's feasible."

Hearing Katherine's voice, Sunny, who had been deep in thought, stopped writing and looked up in surprise. "Katherine, what are you doing here?"
