Chapter 368 What to Do When Alex Is Too Clingy!

Katherine was the sister, Laura, he'd been searching for all these years. Laura was Katherine!
Bernard's eyes were bloodshot with regret. "So, I kept mistreating my sister, sided against her, bullied her, scolded her, poured coffee on her head, and almost caused her to lose my nephew?"
Billy Parker looked stiff and lost. "Sir, you didn't know Katherine was Laura before."
The siblings had finally reunited, but he'd treated Laura so badly. How could she still want to acknowledge him as her brother?
Bernard rubbed his forehead and took a deep breath. "Where's Katherine now?"
Billy replied, "She went back to Melville Manor with Mr. Melville. She should be asleep by now."
Bernard nodded absentmindedly. "Find a way for me to see her alone tomorrow."
"Yes!" Billy agreed.
Bernard, still uneasy, added, "Don't force her. Even if she doesn't want to see me, just be kind."
Billy nodded. "Don't worry, Mr. Mitchell, I understand."
Bernard pinched the bridge of his nose, exhausted, and waved him off.
Billy retreated.
In the morning, Katherine woke up to Alex's deep eyes staring at her.
Used to sleeping alone, she was startled to find a man beside her and instinctively moved back!
Seeing her reaction, he frowned. "What? Not used to it?"
She remembered moving back to the Melville family yesterday and their relationship taking a leap.
Blushing, she asked, "Alex, what time is it? Aren't you going to work today?"
Alex squinted at her. "How can I go to work with someone pressing on me?"
Katherine frowned in confusion and turned her head. She realized her head was on Alex's strong arm, not a pillow!
She chuckled dryly. "You could've moved your arm while I was sleeping! My head isn't that heavy."
Sharp-tongued so early in the morning!
He pretended to be angry, pinching her cheek. "I thought you were exhausted and wanted you to sleep longer. How can you be so ungrateful?"
The word "exhausted" had a subtle tone, making her think of last night.
Blushing, she sat up. "I'm awake now! Thanks for your arm. You can take it back!"
Alex sat up too, moving his numb arm. "So, you're awake and ungrateful? Who was it that leaned on me all nigh?"
Katherine's face turned bright red. "Alex!!!"
Alex laughed, having teased her enough. He lightly tapped her nose. "Alright, I won't say anymore! I'm off to work to earn money for our baby's formula!"
Katherine rolled her eyes. "Hmph, that's more like it!"
Alex ruffled her messy hair, got out of bed, and headed to the wardrobe. "Don't stay in bed too long. Get up, have breakfast, and tell Anton what you want for lunch. We'll have dinner together when I get back."
With the six-foot-three man out of bed, the space felt much bigger. Katherine stretched lazily under the covers, mumbling, "Mm, I know!"
Alex kept reminding her not to eat just anything random, especially anything too cold.
When they first met, she thought he was aloof and quiet. Now, she found him quite nagging, like a dad!
While Alex went to the bathroom to wash up, Katherine tried to take a nap.
Alex came out, dressed, and saw Katherine still dozing in bed.
He frowned and walked over to her.
Just as she started to drift off, she felt her chin pinched by rough hands, followed by a warm breath on her lips.
She opened her eyes abruptly, pushed him away, and wiped her mouth. "I haven't brushed my teeth yet!"
"It doesn't matter, I don't mind." Alex's eyes were deep as he spoke, then kissed her again.
He loved prying open her uncooperative lips, slowly conquering and exploring until she responded passionately.
Eventually, Katherine couldn't resist; he was too skilled.
When her breathing became erratic, he finally let her go, looking deeply into her eyes. "Do you want to come with me?"
Out of breath, Katherine shook her head. "Your office isn't fun. I want to sleep at home!"
If he could, Alex would take her everywhere, but he didn't want to tire her out.
He pressed his warm cheek against hers. "Okay, then stay home and sleep. Don't run off while I'm gone!"
Katherine frowned. "So I can't even go for a walk? Alex, you can't keep me under house arrest!"
He pecked her on the corner of her lips. "Of course, you can go for a walk, but tell me where you're going so I can find you."
Katherine showed playful disdain. "Got it, I won't run! Now go! You're so clingy. Who can stand it!"
Alex frowned, reached under the covers, and pinched her waist. "Even if you can't stand it, you have to! You started this, so you have to take responsibility!"
Her waist was ticklish, and she curled up into a ball.
After teasing her enough, he coaxed, "Be good, I'm leaving. Sleep a bit more, then have breakfast."
Katherine covered her mouth with the blanket, leaving only her mischievous eyes visible, blinking to prevent more kisses. She stuck out a small hand and waved. "Bye-bye!"
This girl, how could she be so cute!
Alex's Adam's apple bobbed as he restrained his inner heat, grabbed his coat, and left.
If he stayed one more second, he feared he wouldn't be able to resist lifting the covers and kissing her again!
