Chapter 390 Bernard and Katherine's First Photo Together

The blue fireworks ended, and the wind picked up outside.

No one on the terrace noticed Scarlett had been there because of the loud fireworks.

When everyone came back inside, they only saw Katherine and Jonathan chatting on the sofa. Alex was missing.

Hilton sat down and asked, "Katherine, where's Alex?"

Katherine pointed upstairs. "He went up."

Teresa plopped down next to Katherine. "What's he doing upstairs, leaving you alone?"

Katherine sipped her juice and didn't answer.

Teresa quickly changed the subject and showed Katherine a video of the blue fireworks she had filmed. "Katherine, look, didn't I do a good job?"

Katherine glanced at it. Teresa had posted the video on Facebook, and it already had many likes.

She smiled. "Yeah, your photography skills are great!"

Teresa beamed. "Right? I think so too!"

Then she busied herself replying to comments on Facebook.

Bernard walked over and sat next to Katherine. "Why did you come inside halfway through? Don't you like blue fireworks?"

Katherine looked at him calmly. "They were beautiful, thanks. How much were they? I'll cover the cost along with the drinks when we leave."

Bernard was taken aback and frowned. "Those fireworks were a gift, no charge."

Katherine smiled. "No charge? You're too kind! But I can't take your generosity for granted. We're not close, so we must settle everything, or I won't come again!"

Her words stung Bernard. He sighed and said no more.

A servant brought over a blanket as per Bernard's instructions.

Bernard handed it to Katherine. "The wind's picking up, and it'll get colder. Cover up so you don't catch a cold."

Katherine smiled and took it. "Thank you."

She then draped the blanket over Teresa. "You're not dressed warmly enough; don't catch a cold."

Teresa, busy with her phone, was touched. "Katherine, you're so good to me!"

Katherine, though younger, patted her head like an elder. "It's what I should do! Keep playing with your phone!"

Bernard stayed silent.

Katherine wouldn't accept a blanket from him.

Not far away, Hilton and Issac were drinking together.

Hilton leaned in. "Issac, have you noticed? Bernard's acting really strange today! That usually aloof guy is being overly attentive to Katherine!"

Issac sipped his drink and glanced at him. "Are you ever not gossiping?"

Hilton was disappointed by Issac's cold response. "You're no fun!"

Issac snorted. "Better than you, always stirring the pot."

Hilton shrugged. "I just find it odd. Bernard's usually so proud, not the type to lower himself! Do you think he's trying to get back at Alex for Scarlett by going after Katherine?"

Issac replied, "Why don't you try being a screenwriter?"

Hilton lost interest. "Fine! No point talking to someone who doesn't get it!"

Teresa finished replying to her friends and wanted to show off. She opened the selfie function on her phone, pulled Katherine close, and said, "Katherine, let's take a selfie for Facebook!"

Katherine reluctantly smiled for the camera.

After taking the photo, Teresa was dissatisfied. "Ugh, the front camera sucks! Let's use the rear camera! Katherine, let's take another one!"

Before Katherine could refuse, Teresa pulled her in for another shot.

The second photo was still unsatisfactory. The first had low resolution, and the second, taken with the rear camera, was poorly angled, cutting them out of the frame. "It's so hard to find the right angle with the rear camera!"

Katherine was about to suggest they stop when Jonathan smiled and said, "I can take the photo for you two."

Katherine was about to refuse, but Teresa handed over her phone. "Thanks, Jonathan. Make sure we look great."

Jonathan smiled, put Teresa's phone aside, and took out his own. "Let's use my phone; it has a better camera."

Katherine didn't want her photo on Jonathan's phone, but Teresa cheerfully agreed. "Great! Just send it to me after."

Katherine remained silent.

Jonathan stood up, aimed his phone at the two girls, and adjusted the focus. "Ready? Look at the camera."

Katherine, unwilling to spoil the fun, smiled reluctantly at the camera.

Jonathan took several shots and gave an OK gesture. "All done!"

Teresa eagerly took Jonathan's phone to look at the photos. "Jonathan, your phone's camera is really good! The picture is so clear, you can even see every strand of hair!"

She swiped through the photos until she found one that looked funny. In the photo, Bernard, sitting on the other side, had somehow leaned in, photobombing next to Katherine.

Teresa burst out laughing. "Katherine, look! This one is hilarious. Bernard's head tilt looks just like our dog! Hahaha!"

Bernard was at a loss for words.

Katherine hadn't been interested in the photos, but Teresa's comment made her glance at it, and she smirked. "You know, you're right!"

Bernard didn't want to respond.

After Jonathan got his phone back, he received a private message from Bernard: [Send me the photo.]

Jonathan was slightly surprised and replied with a smile: [Which one do you want?]

Bernard: [What do you think?]

Jonathan sent over the photo where Bernard had photobombed next to Katherine, and Bernard immediately saved it.

Although his pose in the photo wasn't very graceful, it was the first photo of him and Katherine together in years. How could he not treasure it?
