Chapter 803 Brent is Here
He rolled up the car windows as he spoke.
Teresa inexplicably blushed and frowned, asking him, "Why are you nervous?"
Frank leaned in and said, "We're getting married tomorrow. Aren't you nervous?"
Teresa's expression froze for a moment before she said, "Not really."
Until it actually happened, she couldn't believe Frank would really marry her!
Frank pretended to be disappointed, "Alright, it seems like I'm the only one nervous. You don't care about our marriage at all!"
Teresa couldn't stand him acting like this, "Alright, it's getting late. Take me home!"
Frank felt a bit helpless, but he knew it was his own fault for missing out on the Teresa who used to value everything about him. Now, he deserved this.
Two days later, Sophia went alone to pick up Brent at the airport.
Seeing Brent and his current wife Nora coming out together, Sophia instinctively glared at Nora before running to Brent and giving him a big hug!
"Dad, you're finally here! You have no idea how tough the things you left for me to handle have been lately. Those people are driving me crazy!"
Brent hugged Sophia and gently patted the back of her head. "Don't worry; now that I'm here, no one will dare trouble you anymore!"
Sophia nestled in Brent's embrace and hummed in agreement. She was truly relieved now. As long as Brent was around, no one could make things difficult for her.
"Sophia, you haven't greeted Nora yet. Don't forget to be polite!"
Brent reminded Sophia.
Sophia's face turned grim at Brent's words, but she controlled it well. By the time she got out of Brent's embrace, it was no longer visible.
She looked at Nora, "Nora, long time no see. You look even more beautiful! It seems my dad has really taken good care of you!"
Nora smiled back. Despite detecting the sarcasm in Sophia's words, she chose not to argue and instead showed genuine concern. "Sophia, you look like you've lost some weight. Have you been too busy with Brent's affairs to eat properly?"
At this, Nora turned her head and gently scolded Brent, "It's all your fault, making Sophia handle so many things alone. Look how tired she is."
Brent smiled at Nora and didn't say anything, humbly accepting the criticism.
Sophia, however, didn't appreciate it. She just gave a polite, dry laugh in front of Brent, "Thank you for your concern, Nora. But it's my duty to help my dad. In the future, I'll be taking over his business, so he's just trying to prepare me early. I understand his good intentions."
Her underlying message was a warning to Nora that she was Brent's heir, and his business would be hers in the future, so others better not have any bad ideas!
Nora just nodded, "You're a thoughtful kid."
Sophia was overthinking it. Nora had no interest in Brent's business or assets, and neither did her daughter Linda. So, no matter how Brent distributed his assets in the future, she wouldn't interfere.
At this moment, Brent noticed Linda was not by Nora's side and immediately frowned, "Where's Linda?"
Nora looked behind her, only to find Linda missing!
"What happened? Linda was just following me out!"
Brent confirmed Linda was missing and immediately turned to his accompanying subordinates, "What are you all standing around for? Go find Linda!"
The subordinates quickly responded, "Yes, sir!" and prepared to search.
Just then, a sweet girl's voice rang out, "I'm here!"
Everyone turned to see Linda, who had grown much taller, wearing a tracksuit, hands in her pockets, chewing bubble gum, and walking over with a swagger!
Nora quickly pulled Linda to her side, "Linda, where did you go? The airport is so big, and you're not familiar with it. How could you run off alone?"
Linda shrugged, "Mom, I just went to the restroom!"
Brent walked over, "Even if you go to the restroom, you should tell me or Nora first. You can't just go off on your own! We thought we lost you!"
At this, Brent glared at his subordinates, "You useless bunch, how could you not notice Linda slipping away alone?"
The subordinates all lowered their heads, not daring to speak.
Linda rolled her eyes at Brent's temper, "Alright, Dad, I'm not lost. Why are you scolding them?"
Brent's tone was noticeably gentler with Linda, "If you were lost, it would be too late to scold them! Linda, don't do this again. No more running off alone!"
"Okay!" Linda responded absentmindedly.
She had just seen Sophia throwing herself into Brent's arms and putting on a show, which she found annoying, so she wandered off to a farther place to avoid seeing it!
She never liked her half-sister Sophia!
Firstly, she doubted Sophia's character. Secondly, Sophia had always treated her mother poorly, so she didn't want to show Sophia any respect!
Nora, seeing Linda safely back, breathed a sigh of relief and gently patted Linda's shoulder, reminding her, "Linda, you haven't greeted Sophia yet. Sophia is over there!"
Linda followed Nora's direction and met Sophia's unfriendly eyes. She knew Sophia didn't like her, but she had to give some respect to Nora and Brent!
So, she pulled one hand out of her pocket and waved at Sophia, "Hello! Nice to see you again, Sophia!"
Sophia, for Brent's sake, nodded and smiled in response to Linda.
She had just seen how worried Brent was about Linda and was already a bit angry!
Before Nora appeared, she had always been the most important person in Brent's heart. But Nora appeared and gave Brent another daughter, Linda, taking away much of the love that was originally hers!
She had thought Brent wasn't serious about Nora, just a phase that would pass in a few years!
But to her surprise, after all these years, Brent still treated Nora the same, without any change. She didn't know what Nora had done to keep Brent wrapped around her finger.
