Chapter 98 Kind Ms. Galatea

Alex's eyes were filled with lust, fueled by desire, staring at her like prey. "What if I told you I like you?"

As soon as the words left his mouth, a sharp clap of thunder sounded outside!

The rain, which had been a mere drizzle, suddenly intensified, crashing down like ocean waves.

Katherine was startled, looking at the man in astonishment, then burst into laughter. "Did you hear that, Alex? Even God can't stand the lies you're telling just to get laid! He's going to strike you down!"

‘What the hell?’ Alex said.

He darkened his eyes as black as ink, veins bulging on his forehead.

Katherine sighed and continued, "Alex, you're experiencing a drug-induced illusion right now. You want to sleep with everyone you see! I understand!"

"Katherine, what do you take me for?" Alex glared down at her, his hot breath on her face with a faint scent of high-end tobacco.

Katherine was defiant, her brows tightly furrowed. "I take you for a man whose mind is clouded by desire!"

"You're right!" Alex sneered, gritting his teeth. His heavy breathing and heaving chest indicated he was on the verge of losing control. He lowered his head and kissed the sharp-tongued woman fiercely.

Katherine widened her eyes in shock, but she never stopped struggling. She fought against Alex’s strength, shaking her head and biting him.

Suddenly, her resistance seemed to snap. Her hands were freed, and the man stepped back, panting heavily.

Still shaken, she looked up in surprise to see Alex had turned away. His fists clenched tightly, walking unsteadily towards the guest room door.

Katherine let out a sigh of relief but asked him uneasily, "Where are you going?"

Without turning his head, Alex's hoarse voice was cold and hard. "I'm going to sleep in the car. Stay here! Meet me downstairs at seven in the morning."

At this moment, it felt like a thousand butterflies were crawling inside his stomach. If he didn't get away from Katherine, he would truly lose control.

From the beginning, Alex had never intended to force her to solve his problem. If he hadn't seen her calling around for women to sleep with him as soon as he came out of the bathroom, he wouldn't have been so angry that he nearly lost his mind!

A cold shower had barely calmed him down, and now she had set him on fire again!

Katherine was stunned, frowning as she watched Alex’s retreating figure.

Alex didn't know that his current condition couldn't be resolved by enduring it.

If he didn't have sex with a woman by morning, the mildest consequence would be paralysis from the waist down.

Reflecting on the past twenty-some days, her interactions with Alex had been relatively peaceful. Aside from his occasional overbearing nature, he had treated her, his partner, quite well. He had even given her a painting he had bought at a high price.

The weather outside was terrible, with torrential rain pouring down. Even if a woman were willing to come, she would miss the time!

So now, she could either stay out of it and watch a healthy man with no grudge against her become paralyzed or die.

Or Katherine could step up.

For a girl who had never been in a relationship, this was a huge step to take!

But then she remembered that she had invited Alex to the hotel that day, which led to Sherry drugging him. She couldn't forget her responsibility in this matter! Moreover, when she was kidnapped, Alex had come to her rescue immediately.

If she did nothing today, she would always feel indebted to this man, which would be a mental torment for her in the future!

Having made up her mind, Katherine took a deep breath. "Wait! Alex, I'll help you!"

Alex stopped in his tracks, his heart skipping a beat.

He was like a vampire with a shred of humanity left. He faced a sweet-smelling human, battling his primal urges and struggling to resist the impulse to pounce.

He narrowed his eyes like a beast and asked, "Why?"

Katherine walked over, moving to face him. After a moment of hesitation, she reached up and untied the belt of his robe. Then he explained, "You're not bad-looking, and your body is exceptional. Helping you this once isn't a loss for me. Let's do it!"

Her words, each one devoid of emotion, hit his bottom line precisely.

Suppressing the turmoil within him, Alex asked, "If it wasn't me but another man in this situation, would you also be so kind-hearted and step in to help?"

Katherine nodded and then answered, "If he's a good person, then yes!"

Alex had intended to let her go, but her resolute "yes" infuriated him.

So, he wasn't special at all!

‘Would Katherine be so generous with other men, too?!’ Alex thought.

He hooked his long arm around her waist, pulling her close in a punitive embrace, looking down at her and saying, "Alright, since you are so generous. I'll gladly accept."

Katherine had more to say, but his kiss came crashing down, silencing her completely!

He lifted her and threw her onto the bed, his strong and wild body pressing down on her. His rough hand gently brushed the stray hair from her face as he asked, "Do you regret it?"

Katherine, her eyes dazed from the kiss, closed them, unwilling to face him.

"I don't regret it," she then stated.

A fire burned in Alex's eyes as he let out a mocking laugh. "Good. Even if you said you regretted it now, I wouldn't let you go. You would better not cry next."

Katherine's mind was in chaos. She wasn't unaware that she was slowly falling for him, but she deliberately attributed all her reactions to the urgency of saving him, ignoring any other feelings that arose.

This way, it would be easier to handle her relationship with Alex in the future. It wouldn't be complicated. They would remain just partners, able to end it at any time.

A night of passion passed.

When she woke up, it was already broad daylight.

Katherine moved, feeling sore all over as if she had been taken apart and put back together.

She was alone in bed and found a robe, putting it on before getting out.

She intended to go to the bathroom but noticed the guest room door was ajar. Outside, she heard voices in the hallway, one of them Leander's.

She walked over and peeked out.

"Mr. Melville, the kidnappers from yesterday have all been caught. However, the leader, Carl, insists he doesn't know his subordinates. He also has a solid alibi. There's no trace of communication with his accomplice on his devices. The police can't do anything and had to release him," Leander reported.

"Find Carl and bring him to me!" Alex ordered.

"Yes, sir," Leander answered.

Alex turned and walked in, seeing Katherine standing groggily at the door. He frowned slightly, then asked, "Awake?"
