Chapter 572 Going to the Melville Family
Teresa was sipping her coffee when she almost choked. "Wait, what? Your girlfriend is Ms. Hawthorne?"
Sunny nodded, "Yep!"
Teresa was floored, thinking, 'These two are like from different planets. How did this even happen?'
Teresa said, "Wow, you really pulled it off, huh? Ms. Hawthorne's a total workaholic and has turned down a ton of guys!"
Sunny's eyes lit up. "Seriously? She's turned down a lot of guys?"
Teresa nodded, "Oh yeah! Some real lookers too. They'd send her flowers and fancy stuff, but she'd just ignore them. She either sends the gifts back or trashes them! A lot of us thought she wasn't into men at all!"
Sunny felt a bit relieved hearing this. He'd been worried about Ambrosia flirting with other guys, but now he felt a lot better.
Just then, the elevator dinged, and out came Billy with two big dudes, heading straight for Sunny and grabbing him.
Sunny was freaked out. "Who are you guys? What the hell? Billy, what's going on?"
Billy said, "Sunny, Bernard sent me to get you."
Sunny asked, looking tense, "Bernard sent you? How did he know I was here?"
"I told him." Ambrosia walked out of the office, looking all cold and detached.
Sunny was stunned. "You called Bernard?"
Ambrosia adjusted her gold-rimmed glasses and said, "I didn't want to, but you wouldn't listen. I told you to go home, and you didn't. So I had to call Bernard."
Sunny looked betrayed. "I just wanted to have lunch with you, and you called Bernard! You know I'm terrified of him! How could you do that?"
Seeing his hurt expression, Ambrosia felt a twinge of guilt.
Billy held down the struggling Sunny. "Let's go home!"
Sunny, in a fit of rage, said, "No! I'm not going back! Let me go!"
Billy sighed and signaled the two big guys to carry him away.
Just like that, Sunny was taken away by Bernard's men. Billy turned back, nodded politely to Ambrosia, and then followed them.
Seeing Sunny being taken away, Ambrosia sighed in relief, but her brows were still furrowed.
Frank appeared out of nowhere, lazily leaning against the door. "What? Feeling guilty?"
Ambrosia snapped back to reality and glared at him. "Get lost!"
Frank shrugged with a smile and then looked at Teresa, who was still in a daze at her desk.
Teresa had been chatting with Sunny, and suddenly a few people came and took him away. She hadn't processed the situation yet, sipping her coffee with a confused look.
"Drinking coffee?" Frank's voice snapped Teresa back to reality, and she quickly put down her cup.
Frank grinned. "Hey, I didn't say you couldn't drink. What's got you so jumpy? But why are you hogging it all to yourself? Get me a cup too, will ya?"
Teresa stood up, a bit flustered. "Mr. Perez, this coffee wasn't ordered by me. A colleague from another department got it for me. Besides, this kind of coffee is pretty cheap and probably not up to your standards, Mr. Perez. My colleagues wouldn't dare order something this cheap for you."
She explained thoroughly, not wanting to get her colleagues in trouble.
Frank chuckled and raised an eyebrow. "Really? How do you know it doesn't suit my taste? Hand it over, let me try!"
Try? What was he trying? Teresa was a bit confused, watching in surprise as Frank walked over to her desk, picked up the coffee, and took a sip. Then he nodded. "Not bad! Tell them to get me a cup next time too!"
Teresa's eyes widened in disbelief. 'That coffee's already been drunk by me, and Frank just takes a sip? He doesn't mind? I can't overthink this! Mr. Perez has always been like this with women, probably kissing and sleeping with different women every day. What's a sip of my coffee to him? He's just used to it. It's not because the coffee is mine. Even if it was another woman's, he would drink it!'
Teresa shook off the inappropriate thoughts, took the coffee back from Frank, and tossed it into the trash can. "Okay, Mr. Perez, next time my colleagues order coffee, I'll tell them to get you one too!"
Frank squinted slightly, looking at the coffee Teresa had just thrown away, then chuckled. "Didn't expect you to despise me so much! Sorry for wasting your coffee."
Teresa frowned and said coldly, "It's okay. I'd already drunk half of it. I usually throw it away before I finish a cup!"
Frank's expression froze as he thought, 'The once enthusiastic girl towards me has now become so cold. I'm really not used to it! But isn't this the result I wanted?'
Ambrosia walked over and reminded, "Alright, stop teasing Ms. Harris! Let's get to business!"
Frank snapped back to reality, his expression becoming more serious. "Ms. Harris, I need your help with something."
Teresa slightly bowed. "Mr. Perez, what is it?"
Frank said, "It's not business, it's a personal matter. I need your help."
Teresa looked up, puzzled, thinking, 'Personal matter? What personal matter would Frank need my help with? Could it be he needs me to buy some adult products again?'
Frank put his arm around Ambrosia's shoulder. "The two of us want to visit the Melville family later, but we're afraid they won't welcome us and we won't get in. I think if you take us, we should be able to get in!"
Teresa was stunned, puzzled. "Mr. Perez, why do you and Ms. Hawthorne suddenly want to visit the Melville family? Is there something going on?"
