Chapter 760 Gotten Bold
Sunny saw Sophia walking in high heels towards the room Bernard had just entered.
'Is Bernard Seeing Sophia?'
Sunny was shocked and returned to the previous room to call Katherine again. "Katherine, you need to come quickly!"
Katherine's tone carried a hint of impatience, "Are you done yet?"
Sunny, suppressing her voice and stomping her foot in urgency, said, "Katherine, I'm not joking around! Do you know who Bernard is meeting in the hotel?"
Katherine, uninterested, replied, "I don't want to know."
Afraid Katherine would hang up, Sunny quickly said, "It's Sophia! Bernard is meeting Sophia in the hotel!"
Katherine's fingers froze over the keyboard, "What did you say?"
Finally catching Katherine's attention, Sunny's voice quivered, "I'll send you the address. Katherine, you need to come right now! We can't let Bernard get involved with that woman!"
Katherine was silent for a moment, then said, "Okay, send me the hotel address and room number."
Sunny agreed, hung up the phone, and immediately sent the address over.
Katherine put down her work, looked at the location Sunny had sent, and narrowed her eyes.
Unlike Sunny, Katherine didn't suspect Bernard and Sophia of having an affair. She was worried that Bernard and Sophia meeting at the hotel might be related to the land auction from yesterday.
Given Bernard's character, he wouldn't initiate a meeting at a hotel, so it must have been Sophia who arranged it.
Could Sophia be up to something again?
Feeling uneasy, she picked up her phone and car keys, and left the office.
After instructing her secretary on a few things, she quickly left.
Katherine arrived at the hotel and knocked on the door of the suite where Sunny was staying.
After a moment, the door opened, and Sunny peeked out before mysteriously pulling her inside and closing the door.
"Katherine, thank goodness you're here!"
Katherine frowned. "What's the situation now? Is Mr. Mitchell still in the same room with Sophia?"
Sunny nodded, "He should be! Sophia hasn't come out since she went in. They're in the room next to ours!"
Katherine nodded and immediately turned to leave.
Seeing this, Sunny quickly followed and asked, "Katherine, where are you going?"
Katherine replied, "I'm going next door to see what's going on."
Sunny looked conflicted, "That might not be a good idea."
Katherine raised an eyebrow, "What else do you suggest? Do you want to run a few laps first?"
Sunny scratched his head, "I'm just afraid we might see something we shouldn't."
Katherine smirked indifferently, "If you're embarrassed, you don't have to go. I'll go myself!"
Sunny, being a man, wasn't embarrassed. He was just worried Katherine might feel awkward.
But it seemed his worry was unnecessary; Katherine wasn't afraid of awkwardness at all.
So, he followed Katherine to the next door to knock.
He didn't dare knock himself, fearing Bernard might punch him if he opened the door. With Katherine there, he felt safer!
They arrived at the door of the next suite, and hearing no noise inside, Katherine raised her hand to knock.
At that moment, in the suite across the hall, Billy, who was monitoring the situation, suddenly saw Katherine and Sunny at the door, about to knock. He was shocked!
Without thinking or asking Bernard, he quickly opened the door, grabbed Katherine and Sunny, and pulled them inside, closing the door swiftly!
Katherine, still in the knocking posture, was pulled in. She was initially on guard, ready to fight back, but relaxed when she saw it was Billy, her expression turning to confusion.
Sunny was also bewildered, "Billy, why are you here?"
Billy, looking frustrated, replied, "Mr. Sunny Mitchell, why are you here? And you brought Ms. Galatea?"
Sunny frowned. "I saw Bernard come to the hotel alone, so I followed to check! Billy, be honest. Is Bernard having an affair with Sophia, and you're here to cover for him?"
Billy was taken aback by Sunny's accusation.
"You think I have an affair with Sophia?"
As Sunny stared at Billy, waiting for an answer, a calm and cold voice suddenly came from behind him.
Sunny felt a chill run down his spine and turned around stiffly.
He saw Bernard sitting on the sofa, calmly drinking coffee!
Bernard was here?
Wasn't he supposed to be in the suite across the hall?
Seeing Sunny's awkward expression, Bernard elegantly held his coffee cup and raised an eyebrow sharply, "So, you came here to catch me in an affair? And you even brought Katherine along?"
Sunny felt guilty, cold sweat breaking out on his back, but he still voiced his doubt, "Bernard, if there's nothing between you and Sophia, why meet at a hotel?"
Bernard chuckled lightly, "Sunny, you've really grown bold in the past three years, questioning my schedule like this!"
Sunny, frustrated, frowned, "Bernard, I'm concerned about you! That Sophia is no good. Getting involved with her won't end well! Right, Katherine?"
Feeling uneasy about confronting Bernard alone, Sunny sought support from Katherine.
Katherine remained calm, looking at Bernard and asking, "Mr. Mitchell, what's going on?"
Bernard's gaze softened unconsciously when he looked at Katherine, "Katherine, come sit by me."
Katherine walked over and sat down.
Bernard signaled Billy with his eyes, and Billy immediately understood. He went to the kitchen to get a drink for Katherine.
Billy handed Katherine a bottle of freshly squeezed juice and then took a bottle of cola to Sunny, who was still standing by the door.
Katherine held the juice without drinking it, her eyes probing as she looked at Bernard. "Mr. Mitchell, is it because the land deal was difficult, so Sophia arranged to meet you here to make things hard?"
Bernard smiled and shook his head, "Don't worry, the land deal is settled. The auction house decided to sell it to us at the price before Sophia's malicious bid."
