Chapter 126 Did You Sleep Well Last Night?

"Alex." Snapping back to reality, Katherine instinctively pushed the man away with force, sat up, and panted slightly, annoyed. "Alex, what are you doing?"

He didn't respond. He just lazily turned over, closed his eyes, and breathed evenly.

Katherine frowned deeply. Was he asleep?

Did Alex dream of Scarlett and kiss the wrong person in his sleep?

Katherine twitched her mouth and wiped her lips in disgust, feeling irritated!

And who told him to sleep on the bed?

One slept on the bed and the other on the couch. This was their unspoken agreement.

If it weren't for the fact that he caught a cold today, she would have kicked him off the bed!

Katherine grumbled for a while, calmed down, and turned her head to look at his face.

Why was Alex sleeping so soundly? Could it be that his cold had worsened?

Because the room lights were off, she couldn't see him clearly. After some hesitation, she reached out to feel Alex's forehead. Fortunately, it wasn't hot.

Alex wasn't covered with a blanket; he was just wearing pajamas and sleeping quietly. His handsome features looked even more profound and striking under the moonlight from the window.

Due to the 'mistaken kiss,' Katherine felt very displeased looking at him and pulled the blanket over him in disgust!

Feeling that one blanket wasn't enough, Katherine got out of bed, went to the hotel cabinet to get a spare blanket, and covered him with it, tucking him in well, hoping it would make him sweat a bit.

Considering he was sick, she decided to be merciful and let him have the bed tonight!

Giving up the bed to the man, Katherine moved to sleep on the couch herself.

Who knew? Just as she turned around, she heard something fall to the ground. Turning back, she saw that both blankets had dropped to the floor!

And Alex, on the bed, had just changed his sleeping position and was still sound asleep.

Katherine frowned. How could Alex, a grown man, still kick off the blankets? She helplessly turned back, picked up the blankets, and covered him again, then headed to the couch.

However, she soon heard the same sound of something falling to the ground again. Turning back, she saw that the blankets had fallen again!

Katherine tried several times to cover him with the blankets but never succeeded. Every time she turned around, Alex would kick the blankets to the floor, exhausting her!

She couldn't just leave him like that. The man had a cold, and if he slept without a blanket all night, he would definitely have a fever tomorrow!

Taking a deep breath, Katherine told herself to endure. She picked up the blankets one last time, covered the man, and then directly lay on top of him, pressing the blankets with her hands to see how he would kick them off now!

Fine, she decided to sleep like this for one night!

After all, they were both clear-headed, and nothing would happen.

'I'm just returning a favor to Alex, thanking him for not abandoning me and running down the valley to save me today,' Katherine thought.

In the darkness, Katherine didn't notice the slight, almost imperceptible smile on the man's lips.

The next day, Katherine woke up, rubbed her eyes, sat up, and stretched lazily.

As she was stretching unabashedly, Alex's tall figure emerged from the bathroom. She looked at her indifferently and asked, "Ms. Galatea, did you sleep well last night?"

Katherine suddenly felt a wave of awkwardness, stopped stretching and thought about his stolen kiss and kicking the blankets last night. She forced a dry laugh. "Not so well!"

Alex slept so soundly last night that he probably didn't even know what embarrassing things he did!

Alex squinted his eyes slightly. "Really? When I woke up this morning, I saw you still asleep with a smile on your lips. I thought you had a pleasant dream."

Katherine's face turned slightly red, and she felt a bit ashamed as if her inner thoughts had been exposed.

She did have a pretty good dream in the latter half of the night!

Strangely enough, after she helped Alex press down the blankets, she quickly fell asleep again.

Then she dreamed of lots of delicious food, cute little animals, and funny performances by comedians. It was completely different from the previous eerie dream, and she was very happy in the latter dream.

"Alex, has anyone ever told you that watching someone sleep is very impolite?" she asked.

"No," Alex answered.

Katherine twitched her mouth and said, "Well, now you know. In the future, when someone is sleeping, please keep your distance and stop watching!"

Alex calmly buttoned his shirt. "I didn't need to sneak a peek. I openly watched for about a minute. Ms. Galatea, your drool reached your earlobe."

Katherine was speechless, and she thought, 'Damn! So annoying!'

She quickly sucked in her drool and instinctively wiped the drool marks off her face.

Alex stopped teasing her and said seriously, "Alright, get up and wash up. We'll stay here for a bit in the morning and head back in the afternoon."

"Got it!" she replied.

Katherine got up, unhappily pouting, and with her hair all messy from sleep, went into the bathroom to wash up.

Seeing Katherine's little face full of resentment, a soft light flashed in Alex's eyes. If every morning he could wake up to see this childlike sleeping face of Katherine, it seemed like it would be a pretty good life.

After washing up, Katherine followed Alex to the ranch restaurant for breakfast.

Hilton and the others were there, eating.

As soon as Teresa saw her, she stood up and waved. "Katherine, come sit next to me, okay!"

Katherine wanted to go over, but she hesitated at the thought that she and Alex were pretending to be a couple, and sitting separately didn't seem right.

Alex looked down at her, understanding her thoughts at a glance.

With a parental demeanor, he raised his big hand and patted her head, saying, "Go ahead."

Katherine was delighted and immediately went to sit next to Teresa. Alex watched her sit down before casually pulling out a chair and elegantly sitting down.

Teresa grinned and said, "Katherine, hurry up and eat breakfast. After breakfast, we're going to fly kites!"

Katherine took a bite of her sandwich and inquired, "Fly kites? Not riding horses?"

Teresa glanced at Sophie, who was sitting at the far end, and then pouted. "After what happened yesterday, Hilton and the others don't feel comfortable letting us girls ride horses. Luckily, there are a few kites at the ranch, so we'll fly kites to pass the time, then have lunch before heading back down the mountain."

Katherine took a sip of milk and nodded. "Alright, I haven't flown a kite in a long time."

Teresa said, "Me either. The last time I flew a kite was after our high school graduation. Unlike some people who haven't even graduated high school yet!"

Sunny's face immediately darkened and then rebutted, "Teresa, I didn't provoke you today!"
