Chapter 475 Katherine is Trending

Katherine yawned. "Just saw an empty seat here. Mind if I join you, Jonathan?"

Jonathan grinned. "Not at all. But someone else might."

He shot a playful glance at Alex.

Alex, however, was engrossed in his phone, head propped on one hand.

Katherine barely glanced at him before grabbing some snacks from the coffee table.

A sci-fi movie played on the TV, but no one was watching.

Katherine leaned back, munching on snacks, eyes drifting to the TV.

Hilton perched on the sofa's armrest, chatting with some girls and occasionally turning to talk to Issac.

The atmosphere seemed harmonious, but there was an undercurrent of tension.

"Katherine, I saw your wedding photos. You looked stunning. Too bad I missed it in person," Jonathan said, handing her a soda with a smile.

Katherine took the soda, thanked him, and set it on the coffee table without drinking.

A man on the nearby sofa noticed, his expression unreadable.

Katherine said to Jonathan, "Nothing special about me. When you get married, you'll see your bride in a wedding dress."

Jonathan laughed. "True! Hope I marry someone I like, maybe even..."

Katherine almost heard him say "you" and frowned, feeling he was stirring things up. Luckily, Teresa's voice from upstairs cut him off.

"Katherine!"

Teresa came running down, looking panicked.

"Katherine... that..."

Panting, Teresa seemed distressed.

Katherine, feeling tired, assumed Teresa needed help with something about Frank. She sighed. "I don't care about that anymore. Do what you want."

Teresa, looking anxious, said, "No... it's not that! Check Twitter! You're trending!"

Katherine raised an eyebrow. "Me? Trending?"

Everyone pulled out their phones to check Twitter.

It was blowing up.

#Mrs. Melville Faked SATScores#

#Mrs. Melville Delinquent#

#Katherine Fake SATScore#

#Melville StockPlummets#

#Melville Oppresses Poor#

Katherine frowned at the trending topics. When she looked up, everyone was staring at her, except Alex.

Alex was still on his phone, fingers tapping away, seemingly indifferent.

Teresa asked, "Katherine, what's going on?"

Hilton chimed in, "Katherine, are these true? If they are, the Melville Group's in big trouble, and Alex will be devastated!"

Jonathan looked concerned. "Katherine? You okay?"

Katherine didn't answer anyone's questions. She kept her eyes on Alex, trying to read his reaction, but he never looked up.

She figured it must be that mother-daughter duo causing trouble for the Melville family. When they saw no benefit, they went to the media to "expose" her.

It seemed unlikely that a mother and daughter with no clout could stir up such a fuss online. Domestic media wouldn't dare to report on the Melville Group without some backing, so there had to be other forces at play.

"Hey, the trending topics are gone!" a girl in the living room exclaimed.

The others quickly checked their phones.

"They really are!"

"How weird! All the related topics just vanished!"

"Seriously, I can't find them even when I search!"

Katherine checked her phone too. Sure enough, the trending topics had been replaced, and all the ones about her and the Melville Group were gone.

At that moment, Alex put away his phone, stood up, and looked at Katherine coldly. "Are you leaving or not?"

Katherine felt his question was confrontational.

She frowned. "If I say I'm not leaving, will you agree?"

Alex, without hesitation, said calmly, "No."

Katherine pouted, knowing it would be like this. She didn't plan to stay at the Harris family anyway, so she stood up.

Seeing this, Teresa asked, "Alex, you just got here. Leaving already?"

Alex replied, "It's late. She should rest early."

Teresa, thinking about Katherine's pregnancy, agreed she needed rest.

Though she wanted to chat more, she sensibly advised, "Katherine, it's best not to go out alone these days. Even though the trending topics are gone, some people might still remember. Cyberbullying is awful, so be careful!"

Katherine nodded. "I will."

Teresa packed the wedding photos in a delicate suitcase and handed it to them.

Alex took the suitcase, put his arm around Katherine, said goodbye, and walked out with her.

Once in the car, Katherine spoke seriously, "Alex, I'm sorry."

Alex had just started the car. He glanced at her. "Sorry for what?"

Katherine said, "Those trending topics were because of me, causing negative impact and losses for the Melville Group. But don't worry. I can handle the follow-up. If the stock doesn't recover soon, I'll find a way to compensate for the losses."

The car had just driven a short distance when Alex suddenly braked hard!

The screeching tires startled Katherine.

What was he doing?

Alex, gripping the steering wheel, turned to her, his eyes cold and angry. "Katherine, do you know who you're talking to right now?"

Katherine, surprised, looked around the car and then back at him. "Is there a third person here?"
